Skoda Superb III Key Fob Battery Replacement
Uses battery type: CR2032 (3V Lithium) button cell. Use a quality replacement, otherwise you will be back doing this sooner than you needed to.

Best version of this tutorial because it actually mentions the little catch in the chamber rather than just using brute force. Thanks!
thanks for this, always prefer to watch a quick video rather than read the manual!
Brilliant video! I was struggling to open it with the key as per Skoda instructions. Your instructions worked like a dream, and your explanations were so helpful.
I have had my Passat for a year now, and it says on the display, 'Change battery.' I had a go, got the key thingy out, 'Then what?' This video has exactly the same key, and without it, I would be 'marooned.' Thank you so much for taking the time to upload a clear and easy to follow video, highlighting the points when things could go wrong (subscribed).
This is how you made a quality youtube content. Thanks!
Today I have used this video and have successfully changed the battery.
Just changed two Skoda Superb batteries in less than 5 minutes. Be sure to " push up " with the screwdriver as he says in the video, I kept trying to push the screwdriver across at the point where he says " lands about here on the case " and it wasn't working, but after pushing directly up, it worked fine. Everything is easy when you know how! Thanks very much for the video. You're a star!
Thanks man! The best instruction video on the RUclips
Battery required: CR2032
Thanks mate! Simple explanation with least damage for the key.
Btw, nowhere in skoda user manual one can find information which type of battery is needed. The key must be opened first.
Also, the design of the key (opening for battery change) is done in most idiotic way.
I have done it on three different keys and every time i had problems with it.
this is exactly what i need right now! Don't be afraid, you can change it yourself no matter you can drive or not lol
CR2032
Great video - took less than 20 seconds👏
I was stumped until I saw this, even about getting the hidden key out. Thanks so much.
Now thats useful. Short, straight to the question, Thanks!
Thx 4 the video! Worked really well. Minor point: if you would add an arrow with the direction you need to press the pinn. Spend some time pushing the wrong way. 😅
Excelent tutorial! Battery needed 2032! THANKS mate 👍👍👍
Top notch demonstration. Cheers
Great guide, I hate ugly jet fobs that have been abused and marred with knives or similar.
Excellent tutorial. Thanks 👍
doesn't work
Thank you so much!....probably saved me a $100 visit to VW....and yes, I am not handy at all
$100? Surely not. They should do that for free.
Brilliant! Had me stumped until I watched this video. Getting the right plane of entry and the upward pressure is the key, pardon the pun! Thank you ! 🙏
short and simple! thx!!!
Short and sweet, many thanks!
Thanks. I've just managed to do this but I used my thumb nail to prise open the cover as I couldn't find my screwdriver ! 👍
Thank you, very helpful video 😊
Thank you for taking the time to explain this. Very helpful.
Thank you... Easy once shown... Very informative...
Thank you, very helpful, it does not work like shown in the manual (Skoda Kodiaq).
Thnx for putting this up was really helpful 👍🏼
Thanks a lot job is done ✔️ ❤
Thank you, short and clear :)
Thanx 👏😁Easy, and it works 👍👍👍

Great video. Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you sir
Thank you for the information. Spot on!
Thanks 👍
Helpful....thank you
Hi, is it necessary to programme key after battery replacement? Or something like that?
How long does the battery last? Mine needs changing in a years time and the first functionality that goes with low battery is the automatic trunk unlocking.
Had to change mine after 3 years.
Thx Mate
Great. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks worked for me
Super, vielen Dank
Thanks
Super.Bardzo pomocny film.
Perfect . Thanks
I use CR2025 its work too
Excellent and detailed tutorial. Thanks a lot!
Thank you Sir ! :)
Thank you 😁👍
great
Silly question but the emergency where does it work on the car? I have an Arteon.
On the driver's side door knob, you pull the handle and there should be a small cap, you take it off to reveal the key hole.
my man. thanks
super, danke
Why did I watch this? I don't even have a car with this key.
Na co má ty rukavice?
Wow! Professionals have standards ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ
👍👍👍🙋♂️
meanwhile keyfob of my 2000 Passat B5 still runs on its original battery
Thank you!
👏👏👏👏
it's definitely not simply clever
Nothing wrrr
This doesn't work. Use the knife in long whole between 2 sides, turn the night 20-45 dig. to open. Set knife top near the lock from this video.
It works. If you look at the case after it opened you can clearly see why. The screwdriver needs to be inserted where he shows, otherwise it passes the gap and wont pry on the lid. This can happen with a too long and or too wide screwdriver. It also does come with a little bit of force. The knife is an inappropriate way of changing the battery and at my dealer if any issue happen after that key, they won't help as it has been improperly opened.
LOL. So what you see on the video is some sort of illusion then? :)
Not the correct way in my opinion. Too much force needed. I put at pointy tool, not sharp, in the crack from the outside. Popped open without any force
That's not the correct way. The official method requires what I am doing here, but you should wedge a screwdriver in the release clip and twist. But it's almost impossible to get right.
Thanks mate! A really helpfull !🫶🏻🫡
Thanks 😁
