I think they're right that its much easier to run a practice in a traditional way. It doesn't translate into results, but the practice is easier to run.

This explains the failings of the education system in general.
Personal agency requires affordance recognition capacity which is chronically depleted without enabling scaffolded degrees of learning freedom.

Maybe I am getting too caught up in semantics but I wouldn’t say that the relationship between constraints and outcomes is unpredictable but rather it is a non-linear which can lead to results seeming unpredictable. But I do think there is some real causal relationship for the interacting but just like in all research studies there are confounding factors that may lead to a constraint’s interaction being nullified or minimized. The IMO CLA acknowledges or takes into account confounding factors and we must accept that we probably won’t be able to grasp the totality of the complex things we seeking engage with aka sports and the coaching of said sports.

I think where the critisim is fair is that there are often practical limitations to fully implementing EP in group classes within a given amount of time. Not learning is the worst outcome and there may be times where fully using CLA/EP cannot be done for practical reasons. In such situations persciptive may be better than nothing alongside CLA/EP. Again, this is only a practical criticism not a theoretical one.

Practically applying CLA has always been my issue.
It has always just seemed like theory.

I'm applying CLA to negotiation training but I had to gain a deep understanding of affordances before making the connection. Neuroscience is finding alot of evidence that a learners history of trauma has a significant impact on affordance recognition. IMO, CLA embeds healing and activates agency without having to teach theory.
I've learned A LOT listening to Robs books and can't wait for #3 to drop!🎉
