- Disguised Toast and friends play some new custom roles in modded Among Us. This time Toast plays the Lovers role. To win as Lover you and your partner must survive together to the top 3. But if one in the couple dies, both players die.

Like she's just about winning the game, which is fine too. I've seen so many games with Toast, DK, Leslie, Edison, John (Masayoshi) where even their losses are fun to watch. Specially Toast since he's said many times that it's about everyone in the lobby having fun.

Here’s a big brain play: 2 normal crew mates hang around each other to make them seem like “lovers”, they get their most suspicious person (so the one they think is imposter) to kill one of them, so then the other survives and tells who is the imposter.

While lovers is an interesting role its a pretty bad one. It's way too easy to see who's a lover. Notice they've been together 2-3 times just vote one of them out. People are forced to play very specific when they're lovers compared to the other roles.
A change to lover would be some vengeful mechanic. If your partner dies you snap and you get to kill one person before you take your own life. But if you kill the imposter that killed your partner you revive your partner. It's messy but alot more interesting that a downright nerf from just being crewmate.
I think the lover role would be more balanced if the game supports 12 or more players. Having a "lover" where you can basically kill 2 people in one cooldown is a great advantage to the impostors
Any role has specific play, lover role can also pair up with other crewmates or hide, maybe seeming as a jester even, there are way many strategies, they are not forced to play next to each other, but its the easier play
Another problem is that the crewmate had 0% chance of winning when it came to the last votes. If she voted out Toast, Lily would win. If she voted out yvonne, Lily would win, and if she voted out Lily, Toast and yvonne would win. So essentially if it gets down to 6 people left the lovers can always force that situation by stringing along their imposter buddy. Assuming one of the lovers is always an imposter.
