I'm an adult man and I don't use to cry... in fact almost never. I also never payed any attention to opera and I like music like most of the people but I'm not fanatic. This song sung by this girl makes me cry. I think the perfection that God made in the voice of this girl. I don't understand much why it makes me cry. It is something new to me and I'm surprised. I don't know why it happens.
She is not simply a singer/musician. She is gifted with "deep musicality". It is more than expression: She is communicating Her and the composer's soul. It is so natural for Her that She may not even be aware of it.
You cry because your own beautiful soul recognises another that is expressing its unity of connection with the Timeless. It is very easy to forget that we are all part of that eternal, transcendent beauty. When we are fortunate enough to be reminded we may also be fortunate enough to cry. I am delighted for you. 💖
What a priceless treasure! Amira is extremely gifted and superb at knowing appropriate emotion for various phrases in this aria. She is burdened from showing her innate expression, visually, by that enormous hand-held microphone and is, of COURSE feeling much pressure by her first performance with Andre Rieu, but even with these encumbrances, the beauty and talent of this young girl comes shining through. Her innocence is refreshing, and teachers should not fit her into a mold! A precious gem to be treasured!
I've just spent a few weeks comparing O Babino Caro interpretations from mature and famous singers with Amira's version. I am staggered to come to the conclusion that Amira's is more passionate and delightful than most of the great singers from the past. Bravo, again, Amira !!
The tonal quality of her voice and the controlled vibrato would shame many sopranos after years of training in a music conservatory. That is why she is called a Child Prodigy - a person with the talent way beyond the ability of those of her age, and even shaming many adults who have trained for it.

I saw her documentary, she is acctually taking vocal lessons and improving her skills. What everyone used to amazed is the fact that she won the HGT just learning opera by watching You Tube. She is in the right path to become a extraordinary opera singer, I have no doubt on that. Jun/08/2017.

Just listened again and realised that this young lady is certainly doing her homework. She sounds better now than her Holland's Got Talent, more support in the voice. If she keeps developing at this pace, she is going to be one of the greats of our time, no doubt about that !.

Ya, en su presentación, Andre Rieu esbozó algunos datos sobre una niña de 9 años que imitaba algunas canciones en You Tube y que ganó un premio en Holanda; la expectación se apoderó de mi cuando dijo que eran de opera aria y que cantaría en unos segundos frente a las diez mil personas que alli se encontraban. A la expectación se añadió la incredulidad cuando, tras pronunciar su nombre, Amira, apareció una niña sonriente en el enorme escenario en el que se la veía aún más pequeña de lo que podría imaginarse, casi diminuta; cuando la cámara tomó un primer plano vimos una preciosa nenita con cara redondeada mofletitos de bebé y un par de mellas de su dentadura aún en desarrollo que me recordaba a esos querubines alados de los cuadros. A la expectación e incredulidad se unió la curiosidad, cuando comencé a preguntarme qué es lo que acontecería cuando la música le diera paso; y a la expectación, incredulidad y curiosidad se sumó una enorme sorpresa cuando de ese minúsculo cuerpecito emergió una voz impropia de su edad que comenzó a invadir el gigantesco recinto apoderándose también, por lo que ví en cámara, de las diez mil personas que lo ocupaban y que, como yo, reflejaban en sus rostros la misma mueca enarcando las cejas. Pasado el estupor de los primeros segundos, se mantenía el sentimiento de incredulidad, a veces con esas alargadísimas tonadas a pleno pulmón que yo interiormente acompañaba muy tenso y que parecía iban a dejarme sin aliento; a veces con lo angelical de su expresión que me recordaba olvidadas sensaciones de mi infancia. So many critics who can't appreciate a natural talent of a young artist, Jackie Evancho, Connie Talbot and many young artists don't need your criticism. Until you can get up there and show the world your talent, you should just appreciate the talent of the up and coming artists. You critics always try to compare singers to each other, but you can not as each one is on the path to their own development. And for the song choices I'm sure these young artists are asked or possibly told what to sing as directed by the producers and the funding bodies of such events.
So true - I think even Simon Cowell would (have to) admit just how amazingly talented she is. Her voice is an inspiration that others can only aspire to.

Dubris, I saw that version and it was stunning. A completely different video of the same performance. Video and audio were superb, no background noise (clapping, chatting, distortion, etc). There were shots of the audience in tears. I've heard that the DVD has that version.. Anyone know for sure?

A la expectación e incredulidad se unió la curiosidad, cuando comencé a preguntarme qué es lo que acontecería cuando la música le diera paso; y a la expectación, incredulidad y curiosidad se sumó una enorme sorpresa cuando de ese minúsculo cuerpecito emergió una voz impropia de su edad que comenzó a invadir el gigantesco recinto apoderándose también, por lo que ví en cámara, de las diez mil personas que lo ocupaban y que, como yo, reflejaban en sus rostros la misma mueca enarcando las cejas.
Pasado el estupor de los primeros segundos, se mantenía el sentimiento de incredulidad, a veces con esas alargadísimas tonadas a pleno pulmón que yo interiormente acompañaba muy tenso y que parecía iban a dejarme sin aliento; a veces con lo angelical de su expresión que me recordaba olvidadas sensaciones de mi infancia. Aún extasiado por la melodía de esa voz no fui consciente del corretear de unas viejas lágrimas contenidas ni de la sensación de intemporalidad en que estaba sumido hasta el momento de la interminable nota final durante la cual contuve la respiración sobrecogido: liberándome por fín de esa sensación de temor durante toda su actuación de que aquel sueño se podía romper a cada instante en mil pedazos por una equivocación, despiste u olvido, lógico y comprensible en una niñita tan fragil y delicada que contrastaba con su increible aplomo en el escenario y el torrente y la firmeza de su voz.
Entonces supe que había nacido una gran estrella pero, ademas, senti que su precocidad, pureza, inocencia y simpatía hicieron aflorar en mi unos sentimientos maravillosos, de esos que se plasman en la memoria, tan escasos, y que por sí solos te renuevan la fe y te ayudan a sobrellevar esta existencia.

HAS EXPRESADO MEJOR QUE NADIE LO QUE UNO SIENTE AL VER A ESTA NIÑA ... PERO CREO QUE AÚN ASÍ, QUEDAS CORTO ... ES MARVILLOSA, DIVINA, ANGELICAL, EXTRAORDINARIA, UNA ÁNGEL, SENSACIONAL ... ¡¡¡ES UNA NIÑITA!!! ... ¡¡¡CON TODO ESE ARTE!!! ... NO HAY PALABRAS QUE LA ELOGIEN NI DEFINAN EN TODA SU GRANDEZA ... SOLO PUEDO DECIR QUE AGRADEZCO A DIOS HABERME PERMITIDO VIVIR PARA CONOCERLA ...
Todo lo que se diga, se queda corto , es fuera de serie, gracias a Dios por poder disfrutar de este ángel y todo lo que nos transmite.

So many critics who can't appreciate a natural talent of a young artist, Jackie Evancho, Connie Talbot and many young artists don't need your criticism. Until you can get up there and show the world your talent, you should just appreciate the talent of the up and coming artists. You critics always try to compare singers to each other, but you can not as each one is on the path to their own development. And for the song choices I'm sure these young artists are asked or possibly told what to sing as directed by the producers and the funding bodies of such events.

Dubris, I saw that version and it was stunning. A completely different video of the same performance. Video and audio were superb, no background noise (clapping, chatting, distortion, etc). There were shots of the audience in tears. I've heard that the DVD has that version.. Anyone know for sure?
