Oxtails used to be thrown away until immigrants started to add spices and slow cooking to soften up the meat off the tail. This Hawaiian theme is so good that 9th island locals swear by it. The desserts are authentic since the pastry chef worked in Hawaii. Rampart and Southpoint are local casinos who still have “ loss leaders”.
I was a server for real Hawaiian's in a Hawaiian restaurant, nothing Aloha in that buffet. The Hawaiian Mac Salad is bomb! Loco Moco, Teriyaki Chicken & Teriyaki Beef. That Hui Chicken is slow cooked in soy sauce, usually with chicken thighs. Coconut shrimp served with sweet chili sauce is what our restaurant had. Hawaii is bug on shrimp. The pork & cabbage is called Kuluha Pork & cabbage, one of my favorites if cooked right. Hawaiian's also do the Lava cake which is delicious. Those noodles with beef looked dry. The restaurant I worked for also made their own Teriyaki sauce fresh daily. All meats chicken & beef marinated in that sauce. I never have been to Hawaii either, but dang if the food is cooked right, I do appreciate their cuisine.
Great review. We normally stay away from most buffets, but this one looks like it could be a good one. I really like the entire pig. Got to have some crunchy skin.
@@bestfoodreviewroadtrip7612 Curious where is your number one go to in in Henderson for breakfast? I know there are prob many but just trying to find a great one for next weekend when we go up there to look at homes. (Anything but a chain restaurant :)
I love oxtail stew. When we were first married, we could buy the meat for 10 cents a pound. Try to buy it at a decent price today. We needed that price considering, we only brought home $50 a week. That was the good old days, when we lived off of love!😅 ❤❤❤🎉
@VivaLasVegasX so many in Honolulu as well. I wouldn't review Hawaiian food unless in Hawaii, derp. They talked about going to Hawaii to do restaurant reviews, pay attention.
@VivaLasVegasX ok then, lived in Vegas most my adult life and Hawaii for a year, I assure you there's way more authentic Hawaiian cuisine in Hawaii. I've had better Hawaiian food in Japan than Vegas so there's that.
@@bestfoodreviewroadtrip7612 Yes, I'm Japanese Amer. The Red Bean Paste for Jp sweets usually fill mochi and called Mochigashi..There is not a fresh Mochi shop that I know of in Chinatown Vegas. They might serve it at the sushi bar as mochi ice cream. So you have to go to LA, SF J-town or Hawaii. Ranch Mkt in Vegas sells it on the shelves but it's imported and not fresh. It's different from the Chinese sesame Balls which are deep fried.
Gimme the fattest part of the pig. I’m 65 years old with high blood pressure and high cholesterol but I have forearm tattoos! I am a snake (my wife said it not me).
You must be talking about yourself??? 😆 (No one over 53 with those health issues in this review) FYI, the forearm tattoos are just the tip & as a former herpetologist, Paul being called a snake is a compliment 🐍

We enjoyed it! We need to find more Hawaiian restaurants in the 9th island!
Great review again! I really like the intro, panning over, not saying what everything is. I’m sure people know corn, salad, etc! Thanks again! Sue
Thanks for watching!
We're always worried these types of reviews are too long
Hi Paul & Amy 🙂Sometimes some places use red bean paste for the Sesame Ball. I love your Channel!!!🍻
Thank you!!!
I Love you guys❤! Beer is beer😂 Thanks for sharing your eats! Nothing better than eating and drinking! You Rock🎉
Going out to dinner is by far our favorite form of entertainment 😋
Love the small individual desserts! Just like the food buffet, I want to just have a taste of everything! Lol! Great review!
We can't just have one dessert!!!

You're making us hungry!!!
It looked very delicious with lots of great options.
So good!

Absolutely agree!
The offstrip buffets seem to be good quality at a decent price
I love you both so much and I wish I could like this video a hundred times because of the all you can drink beer. (No judgement here!)
No worries, and thank you!!
Love your vids. If you ever make it to Hawaii and you see Hulu-huli chicken being cooked on the side of the road, STOP. Grilled fresh, it’s the best!
That sounds wonderful!
Can't wait to visit the islands
We met you after you had dinner at the marketplace buffet. I think you told us you took advantage of all you can drink beer!
Yes!! We remember and thought of you both when we stopped by here again.
We hope you're doing well
You two are great. Gonna move there in a four years and getting a ton of insights on great eats.
It's been great!
Deals change often so we're happy to catch them when we can
Happy planning!

Thanks for the heads up and taking an Uber 😊
Safety first!
First !!!!! Looks good and reasonable price
Welcome back!
We really enjoyed it
As a local Rampart is definitely my go to buffet
It's a very nice resort

💕 love is still a main source of survival these days
Thanks for sharing that story!
I lived in Honolulu for a year, y'all owe it to yourselves to do some Hawaiian reviews, some of my favorite cities for delicious food!! Mahalo
Sooooo many great Hawaiian spots in Vegas!
@VivaLasVegasX so many in Honolulu as well. I wouldn't review Hawaiian food unless in Hawaii, derp. They talked about going to Hawaii to do restaurant reviews, pay attention.
@LuigiLongfellow vegas is Hawaii! It's the 9th Island! So much good Hawaiian here
@VivaLasVegasX ok then, lived in Vegas most my adult life and Hawaii for a year, I assure you there's way more authentic Hawaiian cuisine in Hawaii. I've had better Hawaiian food in Japan than Vegas so there's that.
@LuigiLongfellow well that's a insult to all the Hawaiian owned restaurants in Las Vegas.
The filling for the sesame ball might be sweet Japanese red bean paste
Thank you!
Light beer is good at a buffet, less filling🤓
Agree! 😆
You two seriously need to try Authentic Jamaican Ox Tail stew with rice and peas and Johnny cakes. Just do it. Trust me.
Sounds amazing!!!
Sesame balls are like a dessert
That seemed true!
Red bean paste in your sesame ball👍
Thanks!
The filling inside the Sesame Ball is red bean paste.
Thank you!
Michelob ultra doesn't seem to bother my blood sugar like light beers
Good to know!
With the way we eat, we need all the help we can get
Can't really say that it is a good representation of Hawaiian food. Gotta come to Hawaii for the real stuff. All you can drink beer is a winner.
We'd love to visit the islands
It's on our list
For the sesame ball the filling might be black sugar
People are saying bean paste??

Aloha! I usually take the bus, and Monorail around Vegas. So I have never been to Rampart Casino.
Red bean paste
Thanks!
🐝 😋
Nutella inside the sesame roll maybe?
Others say it's red bean paste. Not too yummy 😆
🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
I ate at Zippy's, an Hawaiian restaurant in Las Vegas, but was not too impressed with the food.
Oh no. We had considered visiting one in the future.
Hope that it was a one off? We'll see
They have spam They should if it is Hawaii
Really? ATHF?
Thanks....
😆
I’m with Paul….NO on the sweet potatoes, yams, or whatever you want to call them! 🤢
😆 more for Amy!
The buffet looked great! But beer at a buffet is a filler. I’ll pass on the beer. Same with pizza. Need to save room for the good stuff!
😆
We can't pass up an All-you-can-drink option
I don't think you are drinking enough. quit focusing on the food so much, let's mix it with more beer!
crap, I commented about 1/3 of the way before I was aware of how many carafes of beer you were served.
😆
