I enjoyed this very much. I’m a new fan of Louise Penny. I watched an older movie called Three Pines and enjoyed it, so when I saw the new tv series, I watched it too. I loved the character, his kindness and humanity. Then I tried to check out the first book from my e-library but had to wait months. When it was finally available, I loved it too. I do listen to audiobooks when the written version is unavailable or when I am driving a distance. The reader makes such a difference and can spoil it so I’m reluctant to listen to favorites. My husband also died of dementia, frontal lobe. We also were blessed that I was able to have him home with me. We were in the Atlanta, Georgia area and they had a wonderful hospise support system that helped the last year when things became more difficult. Thank you for the interview, I enjoyed it very much.

What a fun conversation. Thank you. Love Louise’s Three Pines characters. So good to hear some of the background to the characters/storylines.

"Through the fellowship of this program" is an experience so basic to human need that I feel it is a necessary source of Ms. Penny's ability to communicate with her readers. How fortunate we members are to have needed and found it!

I prefer audio books. Thank you for this talk. Edit a month later. I did not mention Louise Penny is my fav author. I’m comforted by listening to her books except her current one. This had me on the edge of my seat. I listened straight through. Couldn’t put it down. Super intense. Brilliant on a different layer than Brilliant with all her other books. I loved to be read to, so the audio format is a dream come true. I haven’t listened to the collaboration with Hillary Clinton, simply because as an American, I am so blown away and overwhelmed with politics since trump entered the scene. I’m 70. Thank you for providing me a community through your writing. ❤

Respite for the caregivers is a beautiful idea, and so needed!

Thank you so much for sharing this interesting and peaceful interview, in which I not only enjoyed to know Louise Penny better, but also her kind interviewer Laura. I wish I saw more of this kind of interaction during interviews. I’m not a crime reader at all, except Agatha Christie, because I’ve worked at Court with real crime, and I struggled with that a long time. So I was astonished to suddenly ENJOY crime… and all the characters Louise invented so carefully, including Ruth, the harsh poetrist, with her duck 🦆. And I’d love to find a bistro like that in THREE PINES, and enjoy the tasty French inspired food, combined with a book from the lovely book store. If there’d be a yarn store, I’d move over… Greetings from Germany, Monika❣

My husband and I finally got to visit Quebec this September and as we strolled along the streets of Quebec & later Montréal, the experience was particularly magical for me having red Louis Penny’s books - some of it s need so familiar to me and I knew that I was on a street that Armand Gamache has walked!!

I have mixed feelings about the television series some things are brilliant but I think they missed on Gabri and Olivier. But the scene with Ruth and Lillian was perfect

I to have watched the series but, I agree with you on Gabri andOlivier but, also on Jean Guy who mumbles a d is nothing like I pictured. Also, Myrna in the books is supposed to be a large person in the series she is not. Ruth ,well I don't see Ruth with purple in her hair. The Ruth in an earlier series is much more like her. I suppose I'm being very picky.

Interesting, but I would’ve liked the topic of faith to have come up more in the conversation.

One of the things that the books are about I think is the path of the female artist.
