Hello there! *If you're new here*: please, do subscribe! New video every Thursday! *If you've been here before*: thanks for watching and hanging around! See you next Thursday!
Ive always had a soft spot for this type of music. I feel like Im 5 years old again listening to my dearly departed grandmother's records. Keep doing what you;re doing, mate. :-bd
Another classic song Julien! I look forward to listening to your awesome music like this each time you post a new video. I show it off to my music friends (we've been in barbershop quartets before) and now they are supporting your music as well as am I. Nobody else on the internet does such a good job as you do. Keep up the awesome work and we'll look forward to more classics like this! :)
Thanks Trevor, glad you enjoyed it. :) You can support my efforts with as little as $1 by pledging on my Patreon page over here: patreon.com/trudbol. It helps me cover copyright fees, equipment / software fees, and hopefully some man hours in the process. Thanks!
Thanks! I sell audio learning tracks for this song, as well as all the others performed on my RUclips channel. My email is in the video description below the video. :)
I sent this to my girlfriend one Saturday morning. I never got a response. Later that week, she was showing me some neat stuff on her laptop. I noticed she had it saved in her bookmark tab... Thank you Julien :) you are one of my biggest inspirations.
Just subbed yesterday, and am SO glad I did! This was awesome to listen to!! My high school just did The Music Man, so I'm into barbershop now. Thanks!!!
Very nice Julien. I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that you have "perfect pitch". I always look forward to Thursday mornings to see what you have come up with for us.........Your California fan.....Doug..=)
Never hoid this one before! Like the outfit, presentable. Love the facial expressions, some approaching bliss, and the acting, which gives the eerie impression of quadruplets! One wonders should you come back as a ghost, would it be a quartet arriving to interrupt sleep or to cause it? Silly question, of course. You are a welcome presence today on RUclips and wherever music lovers recline... You are so talented and brave!
OK, Julien, I had never heard this song and never heard of "polecat," so I looked it up. I think it would be great if you recorded all 12 polecat songs. When I get a few spare minutes (later today) I'm going to start a new playlist with those that you've already recorded; that will leave me with a new "request" list. Great job on "Sweet and Lovely"! It's already a favorite and already on my "feel-good songs" playlist. I have only 4 playlists, and you inspired two of them with this video.
Thanks Jane. :) I've recorded quite a few already! 1. My Wild Irish Rose (Barbershop Polecat) - Trudbol A Cappella 2. Wait Till The Sun Shines Nellie - Barbershop Quartet Polecat) 3. Sweet and Lovely (Barbershop Polecat) - Julien Neel 4. Honey Little Lize Medley (1898 Barbershop Polecat) 5. Let Me Call You Sweetheart - Valentines Day Barbershop Quartet 6. Heart Of My Heart (Valentines Barbershop Quartet) - Julien Neel 7. Down By The Old Mill Stream (1908) - Barbershop Quartet - Julien Neel The only ones missing are: 8. Down Our Way 9. Sweet Adeline 10. You Tell Me Your Dream 11. Shine On Me 12. Sweet, Sweet Roses Of Morn Which one would you like to hear next?
***** I knew that you had recorded several, didn't know it was more than half. Thanks for making my playlist easier to put together! As for which next: 9 and 10 are the only titles I recognize, and I don't care for "Sweet Adeline" (bad personal memories), so I would vote for 8, 11, or 12. "Sweet, Sweet Roses of Morn" sounds interesting. I'll enjoy whatever you do, I"m sure!
Julien, Great job on this one. This is an old favorite for barbershoppers. As usual beautiful blend and smooth harmony. Keep going. If I may make a suggestion: Sweet Adeline, Ten Feet off the Ground. Thank you
Thanks John! I'm happy to take song requests from fans who are willing to support my music on Patreon: patreon.com/trudbol since they allow me to create all this free music and make my work a little more sustainable. Feel free to join and post your song suggestions! My latest videos have all been requests from supporters. :)
Hi Julian, I know it might not be fun to hear, but have you considered doing a barbershop cover of a modern song, like for example, One Republic's Counting stars? You're so talented but I feel like just not enough people see your vids. I first got exposure to you through the mario acapella video and have been a fan ever since. I don't know what you think about something like that, but sometimes all it might take is that one more 'mainstream' thing to help gain some exposure anyway: keep it up, man. you do this better than anyone :)
By the way, I just bought Julien's 2010-2012 CD. If you haven't already purchased it then I would HIGHLY recommend it! It's awesome! You can buy it here: trudbol.bandcamp.com/ Thanks Julien again for this wonderful music!
I've seen his Christmas CDs online to buy in physical format. You can find them here: www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=julien+neel I bought both of them and was very impressed with them. Other than that you'll have to wait to hear back from Julien.
Not yet unfortunately, as there is a bit of a cost to release a physical album as you can imagine... Nevertheless, I'm going to get this going and give it a shot, though. I'll keep you posted when it's ready. :)
I'm happy to take requests from fans who support my music on Patreon (patreon.com/trudbol) since they allow me to create all this music through their pledges. Feel free to join the club and post your song suggestions. :)
Hey Julien! Soo I'm a choir kid and I have this one friend who is an amazing tenor with a very distinct timbre. His voice teacher classifies it as a "German tenor", would you be classified as that too?
I'm most likely *not* a tenor. I would be cautious with classifying voices, particularly untrained ones (like mine), because labeling things can limit you before your voice is mature. I was told I was a tenor once in a choir where I was Tenor 1 and not too long ago that I was possibly a bass. Maybe I'm just a baritone (it's my guess), but who knows, only years of dedicated training with classical singing could really tell me.
Ahh, I see. Thank you for the advice! But have you heard of the German Tenor style of vowels? I'm not too familiar with it, but I found it interesting how you sounded like my friend. :)
I like your rendition of this classic barbershop song! By the way, I'm the one who wrote it back in 1969! :). Good job!
Really?! Mac Huff himself? Awesomesauce!
Thanks for your comment, you made my day! :)
Um... Norm Starks.
It must be a great feeling to hear your song sung so well, and with so much expression.
A Cappella Trudbol mac huff arranged it, Norman Starks wrote it
thank you danny

See you next Thursday!
I love your multitrack of this song. Nice rich, dark sound, and I like the little touch of vibrato.
That was beautiful and heart-warming.
Ive always had a soft spot for this type of music. I feel like Im 5 years old again listening to my dearly departed grandmother's records. Keep doing what you;re doing, mate. :-bd
I love the interactions with yourself to make it funny I just love it.
Everything you do is great and I rank this as one of your best.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I really enjoyed singing this piece and was quite happy with how it turned out too. :
Very good, as usual!
So good you're able to synchronize the 4 voices while slowing down the beat as the songs ends. Getting ever more skilled!
I like when you sing alone ;)
Thanks for the wonderful 2 minutes.

It still amazes me to hear you make that final chord ring. That's awesome!

No, I'm Norm Starks...I wrote the words and music. Mac Huff, who arranged the song, is deceased.
Great song, and clearly it has lasting power - I salute you, Mr. Starks!
I would like to get the words or the lyrics and the music where do I buy them I can’t seem to download them or anything else thank you very much

Muito bom.
:)
You should do, For Me and My Gal!
It would be really cool if you did I Wore a Tulip and You Wore a Big Red Rose.
Just wondering. What recording equipment do you use to do your videos? Thanks, keep up the good work!
I use a ZoomH4N USB portable recording device. No pop filter, I sing a couple of feet away from the microphone.
***** Thanks Julien, love the music!
What do I think about you? I think you're a great singer. This was beautiful.
Thank you Linda, much appreciated. :)
By the way, I just bought Julien's 2010-2012 CD. If you haven't already purchased it then I would HIGHLY recommend it! It's awesome! You can buy it here: trudbol.bandcamp.com/ Thanks Julien again for this wonderful music!
You should think about doing a cover on Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
Is there any way to buy your music in physical format in Spain?
I've seen his Christmas CDs online to buy in physical format. You can find them here: www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=julien+neel

hey julien can you sing "that's what friends are for" the valture song from "the junglebook" pleeease :-D
I already have: Jungle Book - That's What Friends Are For (Vulture Song) - a cappella multitrack fandub (English)
wow cool thank you :-D
Could you possibly do The Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani?
Les Paul would have been proud of you.
This Was Jerry Attricks The Therapist’s Main Theme.
hey, tu as perdu du poids?
t excellent comme d'hab
Merci !
PS: J'ai pas perdu de poids depuis un moment, je crois. Sauf si tu compares à il y a quelques années peut-être ?
It's funny isn't it? Today most artists sing about sex and fighting... Where as this song is just saying that two people are happy to be together :3
