Even though this show is behind me now, and I have to work on a new show, it's alway nice to come back to Spectrum and see what we were...This show still gives me chills even now...It's just so amazing
Wow. They did an amazing job. I also love the percussion section in that band. (and personally, I think adding voices to a show falsely enhances a show.)
Haha. It's like that every year from the head drum major. Jonathon Bolton was conducting there and the year before (which is worth the watch) was Jonathon Zuniga.
Dude, just letting you know, 1 judge ranked Coppell 9 in Finals while the others ranked it 3,4, or 5. Had that judge been more fair (he's not coming to judge state marching contests anymore for this reason) Coppell would have placed at least third or second. Also, it was not "simple" at all. Putting Wagner on a field is difficult without considering that this is a high school marching band. Of course there were many things that needed correcting, but this was still a phenomenal show. Period.
Toby Ukoha, Yo Toby, euphonium bro. Remember. This was the best marching year ever when I went to Coppell. We totally deserved better than fifth place. For some reason I still come back to this video to watch.
Okay, since you want to be technical, discarding props and other GE attributes to define a "true marching" band, then their marching technique, alignments, form structures, and arcs were anything BUT "great"! "Simple" is more appropriate than "amazing".
What 5th place.. so don't see 5th.. why is it that high school band contests are so political.. only the bands with money win.. we had the same problem in tn years and years ago.. it's like the best band that should win doesn't win.. Coppell.. that was an amazing show.. in my eyes i saw first place... amazing drill, amazing percussion, amazing guard, amazing music, amazing sound, amazing field commanders.. amazing GE.. hats off to your band director.. cant wait to see your 2013 show..
good. then I know you are being honest, and not just spamming this video because of a grudge you have against the school. but seriously though. you could try to come across as being more polite. Thank you for your opinion I hope that I can use it to improve my section. I hope that next time we march, it will be better. Thank you
Dude, there are a lot of "if only" judges out there... just take a look at DCI this entire Summer! Furthermore, putting BACH on a field, especially "Toccata and Fugue in D-minor" - a Grade 6 for high school band - could be labelled equally difficult. However, I DO agree with your "of course there were many things that needed correcting", and the judges probably assessed such accordingly...
"Support," as in play favorite and ALWAYS consider said school as freaking phenomenal, blindly perceiving them as absolute perfection REGARDLESS of apparent and repetitive performance flaws in a particular show, at a particular event, in one particular video?? Then, I would have to say I support NO one school.
This is a true "marching band" no props needed to show true talent. Great marching and forms, simply amazing!!!!

so excited to go to coppell highschool later!
This band is outstanding! Especially LOVE the low brass! Great sound all around!
I've always loved the GREAT (and correct, in my opinion) balance to the low brass choir in this band.
Love the passion that the head drum major has as they conduct. :)
Can we have this coppell back?
^THIS
@@oo7pROF3SSIONAL just marching and playing great - difficult to find in this new era apparently
Wow. They sound amazing! I really wish I could steal that low brass
Beautiful.

Coppell placed 5th overall in the UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest Finals.

Just curious, what school do you support?

Eh, B.A. has a more theatrical performance, but Coppell has a much fuller, richer sound imo, not hating on B.A.
i agree @ bludevmike
When has Marcus not gotten first? LOL Coppell did so well, should've placed higher though

To be honest guys, who needs props? They just take away from the actual emphasis of the performance.
...this is awkward because most of the people who commented wouldn't agree, oops.
Props are for the WEAK!

Coppell is also much larger than BA pride
