Former public high schooler here. The stereotypes are like… sort of real, sort of not? The most “accurate” one I’ve seen depicted in media is the jocks, but even that can be far fetched. And also, that’s just from my experience-I’m sure many people would disagree with me based on high school experiences they’ve had. But really, what I’m trying to say is that while people can certainly fit into these ridged categories, it’s way more fluid than media makes it out to be. A nerd can be a bully, a jock can be a gamer, a cheerleader can be a bookworm, and everything in between. People are complicated, even in high school. You can’t really put any one person into a box and you never know what you’re going to get. So, in short, you’re right.

As a student I can definitely tell you that those “stereotypes” are not what it’s like. Yes there are popular girls, but in reality they’re just mean girls that everyone hates but other than that there isn’t any sort of groups like some high school musical stuff😭
I GOT YOU ALANA so basically there are cliques but no one’s going out and saying “stay away from those guys, they get bullied bc they’re nerds!” but there are the lunch tables. Like i have about 100 kids in my grade and there’s certain lunch tables with the “weird” kids, the popular boys, the soccer players, and the cheerleaders, but that’s only like 6 tables worth and then all the other tables are just normal.
There are 100% cliques and they usually sit together at lunch but the hallways are too small and cramped for them to segregate themselves like that. And also a lot of the cliques mix with each other sometimes.
