    Isn't it a bit strange the 765 has its headlight and mars light on, and no red lights when it is at the rear of the train at night?

    Do the modern automatic signal lights change whenever steam trains of today pass each and everyone of them?

      Phillip Bonner that’s actually what the safety valve is for and if your talking about a steam locomotive it’s because a sort of celebratory thing and if it’s a diesel locomotive and there are railfans it’s just for the satisfaction

    I wish Metra should welcome Pere Marquette 1225 to run on their rails, so she can run in that speed like she did in 1991 running side by side with NKP 765, all she did is running slow from Owosso to Alma or any place she run on. 1225 is long for a nice 60 to 70 mph run. Like what the real Polar Express engine can really do in the movie!

      All passenger cars are required to have Head End Power of 440 volts for heating and hotel functions and roller bearing trucks to match Amtrak.

    • @MB_Videos1
      @MB_Videos1 2 года назад

      @@royreynolds108 it 480 volts and the roller bearings are a railroad requirement, not Amtrak!
      Railroads don't want equipment with plain/friction bearing on their tracks.

      there was no place to turn 765 around at lasalle street station, so a diesel had to pull it back to joliet, and before you say it, NO they wouldnt "Strasburg" it.

    It’s a pity that commercial airlines took over most travel; passenger rail by night just beats the pants off American Airlines, United, Southwestern, etc...!! And the service (and food) was a lot better in the heyday of passenger rail travel!
