@rileystube1 There's a lot more out there! Several pairs of actors have portrayed Holmes & Watson over the years, and I think they are all great. Each duo brings their own twist to the characters.

The Sherlock Holmes series is always satisfying. Pure fun.
I generally prefer the original b/w versions of the classic Hollywood movies, but watching this installment of the Sherlock Holmes series with Rathbone/ Bruce in living color is kinda cool. And the fact that these vintage gems are still free makes it that more of a delight. Thanks and please remain free. 😊

I have to admit I do like the colorization. This was a very compelling Holmes tale but the visual that I cannot forget is at 40:30. How I love a great old time English bar singing scene. Makes me needing a pour of the room temperature draught beer meself. Thanks.

Seen this in black and white a few times but the colourizing makes it far better. Amazing technology which I don't think can be improved much more if this movie has anything to do with it.

In these depictions, Watson is like a blithering fool. In the others, like with Jeremy Brett, Watson was more intelligent; as he was in the books.

Enjoyed a Sherlock movie after a long time
My 2nd. favorite, Universal's Sherlock Holmes, pictures!!! And now it's in wonderful, 21st. century color👏👍☺️!!! Great job peeps, I might add. With the beautiful Patricia Morrison, in the spotlight. She was very astute, at what she did. Check out a song she did, on the Jackie Gleason show. All the side character actors here, are worth their weight, in gold. Like Frederick Worlock, Carl Harbord, and Edmond Breon. Along with the talents, of one of Hollywood's greatest, make-up artist's: Jack Pierce😉. All filmed in Hollywood.
Mir gefällt Dr. Watson am allerbesten. Er ist das schusselige, aber gutmütige Gegenstück zum scharfsinnigen und agilen Sherlock Holmes. Eine überzeugende Kombination. Und diese alten Filme sind viel besser als die ganz modernen, besonders , wenn sie koloriert sind.

In my humble opinion Jeremy Bret’s Holmes is the best period. And the 1940s version was entertaining but Watson was absolutely an idiot which should be considered a sin.
