      Those bits of song were beautiful beyond words. I really hope you can grow them into full songs, because if you can I think they will be your best by far.
      Also, I think past you would be proud of where you are right now. You are doing everything that you set as your goals in the recording, and you are really making the world better with the songs and the words you share with the world.

      It's a motto I try to live by,

      Even though I know the alternative is worse.

    • @BramLastname
      @BramLastname 4 года назад

      @America Chavez That's a very USA way to look at it.
      Other people's success obviously takes effort,
      Often more than your willing to put in yourself.
      However that's not all there is to it,
      They also need to have enough luck.
      Some people achieve success because of their actions,
      Others achieve success in spite of their actions.
      Some people devote their life to the impossible,
      Just for someone to accidentally do it right before them.
      According to your logic all that devotion is an utterly meaningless waste of human life.
      I wholly disagree with that mentality
      And will fight it till my days in the hell fires.

    • @Germanchu92
      @Germanchu92 5 лет назад +6

      You can't fall behind because every life is unique. You have your own battles that nobody will ever experience, so you are the only one who sets how much it will take you.
      Not that it's easy to watch others accomplish stuff that you want for yourself, but be aware of your own steps, the only important thing is to always go forwards.

    • @mandywaynick8725
      @mandywaynick8725 3 года назад +1

      I've been feeling that way recently, my HS 10yr reunion is coming up next month and practicaly all of my FB friends that I went to school with are married and or have kids. One of my good friends he now has 6 kids.....like what? I just thought I would be a little farther along. When I was younger I never really had any aspirations of what I wanted to do, it was just kinda ambitious getting home from some sort of office job and having like 3 kids running to greet me. That's all I ever thought of and not that there is anything wrong with that, but it didn't really set me up with specific motivation of what to aim for financially. And so I was planning to be married at 25 and have my first kid at 28 and here I am turning 29 next month working in a warehouse packing Bosch products. And I just can't help but feel left out, behind and a failure at what I wanted.

    This couldn't have come at a better moment. 5 years ago I went through the darkest period of my life and I've been thinking about it a lot (in a positive way, praising myself for getting out of it). A few months before that, I made a letter for my future self, 4 years later. The letter doesn't reflect my depression, but I know I went through that.
    I would love to tell myself 5 years ago that it'll get better. That all those voices telling you that you're unlovable are lying. That people love you and you don't even realize it, and that they show you their love in vastly different ways. We'll get through this, you'll be happy again and you won't cry every day.
    I hope this helps anyone who needs it, and thank you Malinda for always being a ray of sunshine. You've managed to embrace and share positivity in everything you do.

And it hurts to realize that.

    I found this very moving. I'm a third year theatre student at Uni, and I have so many passion's and interests and I too feel so vauge. I don't know which direction to turn. But you are such an inspiration to me. Your videos have brought me such joy and so much room for thought aswell. You give folks like me hope that dreams can become real, but if there not it doesn't mean failure. Your amazing. Thank you!

    Malinda, I'm really glad I happen upon this video. I am just finishing my freshmen year now, and I'm struggling with what I want to do in life. I love the arts. Photography, painting, singing. But ever since I was little I wanted to be an actor. Not the most realistic, I know. I did theatre in high school, and I wanted to continue it in college, even if it's just as a minor or in drama club. When looking at colleges my want for a good theatre program was put on the back burner by my mom, whom I love very much. She went for one semester for theatre and realized that it wasn't reliable to make a living, and she loves me, so she jus wants to make sure I can find a steady job to live off of. And I understand what she's saying and where she's coming from, but there's just something inside me that keeps telling me that if I got the chance I could spread so much joy through the characters I would become. My heart yearns for the arts. I want to look at other colleges in my area that have theatre, but there's also something inside me that tells me to just stay where I'm at and not take chances.
    I know this is long, and you may not see it, but if you do...do you have any advice for me? Nothing big and ground breaking, just something you wish you could tell your younger self to ease her worry. Thank you!
    Btw, I love your videos, your confidence, and your energy. You inspire me.

    I have to say.... You have no idea how applicable this is. I have just come out of uni with a masters and I am currently unemployed and finding it very hard to find a job. Many of my friends are getting married, buying houses and just... You know living life while I feel I'm very stagnant. Thank you for sharing this. It's opened up a great door that makes things easier. Something you seem very good at is helping people through your own experiences. Glorious is where we are and growing. Oak trees don't grow instantly :D thank you again x

    The look in her eyes at 2:38 - I don't know if anyone else knows what I'm talking about, but I have made that look before. When I remember something from when I was in elementary school, that look always comes to my eyes. I went to 3 elementary schools because my parents' jobs required us to move or we were getting a new house. I still have at least one memory from each of those schools. Ever time that memory comes to my mind, the look is on my face and i am overwhelmed with sadness.

    Just continue doing what you're doing. You are making a difference. In music, you can speak to so many and impact them ways you may never see.
    Most people would like to be able to impact others by being positive, you do that.

    You are brilliant Malinda! Thank you so much for having the courage to use this platform to also share your inner growth along with your amazing well-honed voice. This is how we change the world for the better. To share our journeys with others to learn from: not just the ups but also the downs. If we live compassionate and fearless, others will as well. Thank you so much for being fantastic in this world. There are many others that have the same gifts as you Malinda, but a lot of them are sleeping and need to wake up. For any of you who read this, you know who you are! Its time! I know you've been waiting for the right time. and its NOW! Stand up, and shine! spread your wisdom. There are enough of us now with enough global communication to make the difference. Follow your heart, love yourself entirely (love that there are parts of you that you may dislike) and spread it far and wide. We choose our future, by one small choice at a time. Onelove all! Shine on Malinda!

    You have inspired me and hopefully a ton of other musicians to work harder and believe in themselves. Before I found your content, I always had this mindset of, “well she can reach those high notes and you can’t? Wow, you are pathetic” and you have shown me that, I can’t think like that to get better. I use to always feel sorry for myself and think I wasn’t good enough. You have shown me that I AM good enough. I really hope that you know you are helping other people to keep pushing on and showing the laughter, and the happy in the world when it feels like there is none of it. I love you and your content. You never fail to amaze me and impress me and I know that you will never stop that. So I just wanted to say, thank you Malinda. For everything💗
