This far into the apocalypse when food is scarce and rationed, it indicates they understand hormonal imbalances and genetic factors that play a role in weight. You even see this as far in as S4 and I truly appreciate it.

Based on your choices as the main character in each story, Tavia comes at the end of the game and asks said characters to join, where said choices decide whether or not those characters join Carver's group (with the exception of Bonnie who joins regardless). For example, if you made certain choices as Vince, he wouldnt have joined, and therefore wouldn't appear in this episode.

If you were to pick the opposite option, the action would’ve just held out until later in another scene/scenario.
