I don't really like the proprietary refills. I would rather be able to use my favorite gels etc but other than that seems like a good deal. I haven't used any of olights stuff so I'm not sure about durability?

in the past an AA powered flashlight died in a month. it was the predecesor of the S1A Baton. after that i bought that S1A, a Seeker, I5e and 2xBaton3. all very good quality. the oldest still work very good. i would buy another Olight anytime.

I carry my baton 2 everyday for a couple years now and it's holding up very well, I use it pretty often

I like my o pen pro better because no proprietary charger which can be forgotten or lost, they should've kept the usb c option and made the laser stronger and better battery life then it would be an upgrade, the UI on the o pen pro is fine, just because its a newer model doesn't make it better, i like to be able to grab my pen and go without worrying about the charging stand.

Do you know if the Olight O pen pro takes other refills or is it proprietary?

@@mrwan7010 I found out it takes the same refill as the other pens like the o pen pro, but I'm not impressed, im happy with my o pen pro for now, especially since it's usb c rechargeable and I have the bark brass color, I would wait for a better variant..

You can use the old ink cartridge, but it won't charge unless you put one of the "glow" ink cartridges in it.

They say you can use the blue ink refill but that's it.

    • @dragon202006

Apparently, the ink refills are a part of how it charges. If the ink cartridge is taken out it won't charge but that's what I heard somewhere else.
I will know in a couple days. I ordered a black glow pen from them last night.

According to olight you CANNOT use other inks, including the old open ink in the open glow, due to the cartridge being a part of the electrical circuit.

They say you can use the older blue ink. But that's it.

Wow! I didn't know that, that's one more reason I like my O Pen Pro better, I can use Schmidt refills and no proprietary charger stand, the ring light at the bottom is ok, but that's it..

Sucks that you need but bring another charging base with you while you travel, just one more thing to remember or forget🙄

I know right? Life is stressful enough without needing to remember to bring the fucking ink pen charger. Give me a break.

My charger never tells you if it is charging. It’s red before you dock and then red all the way till full. You never will know if you have it on charge till you come back hours later and still see it red then push it further down and check again in a few hours

Which type of charging blocker you using? In my video I'm using the Olight MCA charger that's available on their website. If you're not using an adequate charger the indicator light function probably won't work very well.

no, it isn't. It is rechargeable with a built-in battery. Hope it helps.🤗

So, you can't charge on the go unless you bring the dock. Pretty useless, especially if you travel.

Can you charge this pen using Olight's magnetic chargers for their flashlights?
