I have a p0011 code on a Chevy Sonic 1.8l it's a 2016 I replaced the vvt selonds both of them oil change spark plugs coil pack what else could be the problem
you guys are life savers. I am a professional and need these videos. We cant know everything. So getting these videos out here is a huge help. A resource. You have just become one of mine.
I saw where someone complained about a mechanic watching a RUclips video about the repair he was doing. Why the hell would you be upset about that? He's seeking information in order to do the job right!
@@mattmgarza we Have to be careful. Us senior guys know some things. But we cant know everything. The problem isnt the info. It is the editing. All the hard to reach bolts. working blind. what else needs to be removed is often left at the delete button. Many times thats what im looking for. so we have to be careful. but it is a valuable resource in the right channels.
You do great videos. I've stubled across this video in the middle of my G3 water pump/ timing belt. I was wondering if it was worth the work to take the Caesar's off and change the seals. After watching this video I've decided that no it is not. But of all the videos I've watched for all of the vehicles I've worked on I have to say that this is one of the better ones. Thank you very much for your time and effort to make such good quality videos.
When you said the timing gears are quite different, yas had one showing the inside & the other one was showing the outside of the cam gears, I was confused when looking at mine , because mine were exactly the same. The difference is one has the plate ridge around it where you put your locking device against the ridge. This is the intake side .
Question. How do i make sure i put the cam gear back on? I see the marks are uneven however the gear dont have anything to slide into that mark so im not sure if im putting the on right! Please help tryna reall my cruze thanks! Fabtastic video btw!
Hi there I must say, you do have some very informative videos. Would you be able to direct me to, where I can find the timing chain cover bolt torque, for a 2013 chevy cruze 1.4 L?
Need help my 2014 chevy cruze has jumped because didnt realize the timing belt broke so how do i get the top 2 sprockets lined back up to get in time again?
Hello I have just had to do a head gasket on this engine, when all put back together with new cam/vvt bolts, engine runs perfect for 10 minutes then misfires, after checking the cam pulleys keep coming loose and chucking the timing out Have even tried lock tight with new bolts and still the same. Any ideas please? Thanks
Hi I have a 2012 cruze and its leaking oil form the cam gears. Should I replace the cam seals? Or is it possible that the oil is leaking from the cam gear it self?
what if i don't replace VVT sprockets torx bolts? is for sure damage? cause hard to find. See data 65Nm+120+15, but i could only tighten them 65Nm + 60 angle, more seems scary!
They are TTY ie made to stretch when originally installed and no more. When re-using/torqueing down they will stretch more then they were designed and compromise the strength of the bolt possibly causing your sprocket to come loose and/or not be tightened properly. New bolts are only a couple of dollars. Do you really want to jeopardize your engine over a few dollars? They're not hard to find. Google this GM part #: 24447224
Please help me here. The intake VVT gear for my chev Cruze 2014 1.6 is new made from china we bought it from an authorized dealer but it keeps losing timing .Is there any other cause .Someone said you need an original vvt gear from chev.
The springs inside them get worn out or break. If they aren't working properly, you'll have low power and your cam timing will be all over the place. However, the oil control valves could cause the same thing so some diagnostics needs to be done before throwing parts at a problem.
I have a 2016 cruze limited. I replaced both by solenoids and both cam positioning sensors and now my car 6/10 has trouble cranking the first time around so i have to shut it off and try it again and i can't seem to find the issue
Just curious does it always start on the second try after the 1st failed attempt? So you turn the key and it cranks, but doesn't start, then on the second attempt it cranks and starts normally?
Hey brother I have a2016 sonic I replace the vvt selonoid and now I have two codes a p0011 and p0016 in the pcm but no checked engine light do you have any ideas on what I should do I was thinking the cmp sensor might be bad the car ran really bad before I did the vvt now I have a timing issue it feels like
Man i really need your help now one knows how to fix chevy cruze here in my city especially the timing gears 😔 how i can contant you i need to ask a few questions plz plz
Hi my brother.Did you finally fix the timing gears.mine keeps losing timing and the intake timing gear is new but made in China though its an authorized dealer.
He sounds like he knows his shit and drives formula one. But don’t take his word for shit. His video said 8nm torque on cam bolts which is roughly 58ftlbs and he said 8nm several times and i broke several bolts. Gm told me 8ft lbs. no doubt this guy knows cars better than I do but If torque is off by 50 ftlbs who knows what else he has done wrong. Guys just double check. I know this is the only guy with videos on certain cars and certain stuff but and especially when it comes to torque. Call manufacturer and if u have to ask about the price of the bolts u need the torque on. So they are more willing to help the. Slip in what should the torque be on those
I have time mine exactly the way shown 3 times with the tools and all three times it has had piston to valve contact new head new sprockets new bolts the whole deal this last time the cam sprocket spun idk why what a nighmare
Hi, respect to your video. I don't see a video how to put them back in. See the volvo ruclips.net/video/o4uLvH151-c/видео.html Do you have any documentation how it needs to be done see the rest position?
Yes how to put it back together would be a great video as they actually made it sound like that's what they were doing. Any monkey can take this stuff apart putting it back the right way that's the real technical difficult part.

Do these leak oil if their bad ? A mechanic said on mine thats why I have oil leak. I already changed all rings and seals
Just one question: should the vvt sprockets be lubricated with oil before install?
Did you you get a answer
@@cyco830 no, I lubricated it myself before installing it.
Muito bom! Tanks for vídeo. Congratulation!!!
Silly question, but is it the same process for replacing the oil seals behind the cam shaft sprockets? Great videos by the way real simple to follow👍

Will this fix a p0011 code??
Hi mate, can you please make a video on how to remove pistons, replace piston rings and the torque specifications for the piston rod crankshaft caps.
Does the valve cover have to removed for this?
Why doesn't the exhaust gear come with a bolt? Does it not need to be replaced like the intake gear?

Cam bolts must be changed. They are stretch bolts and can snap if reused. Happened to me
how do you get the crank shaft pully off without a air gun?

How to change the crankshaft sensor. Need a video on that.

Does it work for 2009 Chevy Aveo Lt. With the 1.6
