I stayed home with my kids until they went to high school. Now 20 years later this year I gave up my job and we now live on one income. I help with raising the grand children, cook, clean, help the aging neighbors, take care of my mother. Financially not easy but the lack of stress for both of us, and my extended family, is worth more than all the stress of rushing, materialistic rewards and false status. Good for you for putting your loved ones first.
My husband and I have always lived on one income!Well done! It was hard but I didnt feel deprived.I loved spending time with my kids and watch them grow up.I am so proud of each and everyone of them.
New sub here! 🙋🏼♀ I love how you live life, and are there for the kiddos all day-every day. I'm a hairstylist of 40 yrs, and always had my own in-home salon that my kids were raised being a part of-they loved my shop and grew up with my clients since the day they were born. I wouldn't change this experience for any amount of money that Id've made by working outside of my home-and my kids are 4 of the most well adjusted & successful ppl you'd ever meet-and I credit that to raising them the way we did. It's wonderful seeing young families like yours making life work by putting Family first-every time...The results will be worth everything sacrificed to achieve this ✨
Living on one income now compared to the 1950’s or the 1980’s is unattainable because wages have stayed stagnant and flat while the cost of living (housing in particular) has skyrocketed with no oversight or control.
You have a beautiful home life. ❤ I stayed home with my girls and homeschooled them. Then I went back to work. The added income afforded us luxuries that we didn't have before... not living paycheck to paycheck, travel, purchasing on Amazon whatever we felt like, etc. But our home life isn't what it was before. I miss being home! But now we've grown into our income. Maybe when we pay off our car loan....
My husband's parents both worked outside the home, so when we had children it was his wish for me to stay at home with our kids. It meant a much smaller income, but the benefits outweighed the negatives. I recently found your channel and it feels like home to me.
Hi, I enjoyed your video ! : ) I have subbed ... Just ignore the ''Negative Nellies'' ; ) From 1 Canadian to another : ) Great TIPS and reflective commentary was nice / appreciated ! Lovely music too : )
We make choices to make life work. Eg we don't have a car, we host international students, we continuously sell items, minimal takeaways, handmade items, grow veggies, buying used....
Stayed at home for the last 18 years. Raised my now 20 year old and almost 17 year old primarily in Guelph, Ontario. A huge blessing. I have a huge amount of gratitude for being able to be home with my children and be available for them. (I did not homeschool them for the record, so I don't want to take credit for something I didn't do with that). I am incredibly grateful to the partner I had at the time for being able to do that because he provided financially. Thanks for reminding me of the sacrifice and of the incredible blessing it has been in my life. Heidi now in Vancouver, BC
I love this! I say something similar to my daughter. "You can't be everyone's cup of tea. Some people don't even like tea" . Thank you for your kindness.
I hope he has life/permanent disability cover. You will need 500k if the worst happens. I do appreciate your values but don’t leave yourself vunerable.
I totally agree we need to never leave ourselves vulnerable. This is such an important comment. Back ups like life insurance, and my own personal savings are soo important.
@@strawberrymoonhomestead3692 Yes, you are allowed to have a Past just like @kimbaovrby8728 whom I'm sure 'is not' perfect either !! : ) nor am I btw ! ... So sad that after all the ''good'' in this video that such shallow & judgemental people have to focus 1 little thing etc smh

Where I completely agree with the situation having gotten so much worse, it is definitely not easy to live on one income but possible.

What a wonderful story, thank you for sharing.
What is your laundry soap recipe? I’ve tried the borax, washing soda and zote one, but my washer didn’t like it :/
This is a link to the video I made about my homemade soap

You don't have to pay to send your kids to school. That's not about money.
...no its not. Doesn't mean I can't talk about it.
It’s difficult to homeschool your children if you’re at work and a two income household. It’s something you gain from the sacrifice of living on less.
@christinah9954 This is true.
All of what you speak of is completely valid....until I saw your tattoos.
People so often bring up my tattoos. Am I not allowed to have a past? To have changed my ways? This is a short sighted comment.

I fail to see what her tattoos have to do with anything?! 🤔
Who cares if you have tattoos. I cant believe someone commented that lol@strawberrymoonhomestead3692
