      So according to ‘design mom’, men can prevent unwanted pregnancies by being chaste until marriage (just like the Bible says)?
      Great, point taken!
      All men should make it their mission now to follow the biblically-instructed mission of WAITING UNTIL MARRAIGE. Then abortions will go down, because women won’t have 'unwanted pregnancies’….

    • @kevin9218
      @kevin9218 2 года назад +24

      Doesn't change the fact that you both chose to take that risk, so you both bear responsibility for the outcome.
      The only difference is women have the opportunity to lie about the risk by claiming they are on birth control or in a part of their cycle where pregnancy is highly unlikely. Men have no way to verify these claims. If a man claims he's using a condom, that can be verified easily. A man could lie about having had a vasectomy, but before sleeping with him, you could also ask him to offer proof of that, which would be clearly documented by the doctor/facility that performed it.
      It all boils down to not wanting to take responsibility for your own actions on both sides. You can't expect to go through life doing whatever you want and any time something bad happens you can just hit the reset button.

So many people still scoff at it, but it's how my husband and I successfully prevented pregnancy for over 2 years and then successfully got pregnant as soon as we decided to try. That's awesome that you can do that, but as someone else already stated, there's a lot of us with irregular cycles that never know for sure when they're coming. I've tried both tracking it myself and using different apps to no avail. That being said, I still believe that unplanned pregnancies are on both participant's shoulders equally, blaming just the man is stupid.

    • @samanthastutzman21
      @samanthastutzman21 2 года назад +6

      Yes I realize I am very blessed to have extremely regular cycles which makes it very easy for me to track. The book I read to learn about natural family planning was very in depth and said that even those with irregular cycles could use certain methods. But I've never had to deal with that so I'm not going to say it would be easy or even possible for everyone. I realize I am lucky. The book was Taking Control of Your Fertility. It was interesting anyways to learn a lot more about my body than I knew before. I just didn't want the side effects of hormonal birth control but I know people who successfully used copper IUDs and condoms and neither of those are hormonal options either. Personally I'm just afraid to use condoms cause that's how our first was conceived😂 But we love him to death! I've just heard so many people who outright scoff at any thought of natural family planning and think it is something from the Stone Ages.😅

      @@therealtrissmerigold I recommend the Creighton Model. By tracking your ovulation you'll start to understand why you're having abnormal periods. It's used for more than achieving and avoiding pregnancy. It doesn't require an app or temperature checks. It just requires learning how to chart your observations and what to look for every time you wipe yourself before and after using the restroom and before and after showering. The key to getting pregnant is cervical mucus. The sperm need cervical mucus to survive. Sperm, in the absence of good mucus will die literally within hours or even minutes when placed into the vagina. Estrogen is the hormone which stimulates the production of cervical mucus from the cervix. After ovulation progesterone stops the mucus production. It's progesterone that supports the lining cells of the uterus preparing them for pregnancy. If a woman is infertile or has had a miscarriage it could be because her progesterone production is low. You can find a gynecologist who knows the model and how to read your chart. You'll also be helped by a Creighton Model teacher who meets with you in follow-up sessions to make sure you're making accurate observations and charting correctly. The materials are $30 and the follow-up sessions are $50. The follow-up sessions are spaced out over the course of a year. It's inexpensive. I just wish more women knew about it.

    I can't fathom how people are so comfortable being intimate with strangers without considering the only two outcomes of the activity. Either a child is conceived or not. If you aren't prepared for both results regardless of how much you tried to adjust the odds of either outcome, don't do the activity with that person.

      @@Imsuper656 Please elaborate on how my advice on taking into account the natural outcomes of one's decisions before making them makes me sanctimonious or arrogant. Also as an atheist, I'm probably as far from pious as anyone could be.
      I simply think that most of the issues regarding reproduction can be resolved, or at least more easily addressed, with more focus on personal responsibility rather than focusing on blaming others for the outcomes and making laws to regulate people's actions. Outside of extreme scenarios involving the unwilling, pregnancy isn't something that should surprise anyone or catch anyone off guard. Every method of contraception runs the risk of failure with the exception of abstinence. My suggestion is merely to make peace with the possible outcomes of the decision before you make it. A fair suggestion in my opinion considering one outcome is an entirely new human life.
      Regardless of the odds, you shouldn't gamble unless you're okay with losing a bet. We call those who gamble irresponsibly 'addicts'. Regardless of how much outside help the individual receives, it's up to them to be more responsible. Just because sex addiction is so commonly accepted doesn't make it any less of a problem.

    While the act is intentional, and yes as men we need to be highly responsible (or as i like to say stop thinking with the wrong head), it requires an amount of stimulation that varies each time. Also sometimes you can feel it coming on and have time to react, other times not so much. So to say that it is 100% mens fault 100% of the time because they have full control over the involuntary aspect of it 100% of the time is absolutely rediculous and shortsighted.

    Her argument falls flat in a few key areas. First, when she says "there are no consequences for men with regards to an unplanned pregnancy ...," the millions of men paying child support for 18-21 years would beg to differ. Second, she calls for "more responsibility", but caveats it "just not for me and my kind." That is not a call for more responsibility; it is a call for laziness. Finally, and I say this as someone how has spent my entire professional career solving problems, whenever you identify a problem and your solution is "we need to overhaul everything", you are being insincere. I'll give an example to demonstrate:
    We could immediately eliminate over 90% of unplanned pregnancies if everyone would simply stop having "fun" with people they are not married to. Obviously, that would solve much of the problem; however, anyone with half a brain and a basic understanding of human nature would realize that is not a feasible solution. The same is the case for this woman's proposed solution (interestingly enough, there is a large group of younger men who are heeding her call ... and her fellow girl power advocates are complaining about that now, too - see Matt Walsh's video from the other day).

      More like 30/70. While both people are needed to create a baby, and the responsibility to raise that baby is 50/50, at the end of the day, its the woman, not the man, that'll carry that baby for 9 months while it develops in their body, go through tremendous pain to birth it, and then feed it for another 7+ months. Women are affected the most by it, therefore they bear the majority of the responsibility. No different then how someone with an allergy, bears the most responsibility to avoid anything that could trigger that allergy, as they will be the one affected the most. Yes, if others are decent people, they'll take some responsibility for it as well, but the majority rests with the person most affected.

In no way can murder be justified on the basis of "they might have a bad life & become a criminal", killing someone because they might commit crime? because they might have a less than perfect childhood? because their mother would rather abandon them in pursuit of a career? that seems nonsensical to me & to anyone who has suffered anything! i wouldnt trade my traumas for death, especially when i have survived them & can help others both heal from theirs & hopefully help as many avoid it in the future

It is without a doubt the most hypocritical thing I've ever seen, to mourn a baby dying in the womb due to natural causes, yet supporting millions of babies being killed by human hands in womb. And the worst part is she is oblivious to it.

      I am a very firm socialist, and hold many, what you might consider, far left ideologies. However. I am neither pro choice nor life, since I think that both are one-sided characatures of themselves. I have some views that do not fit neatly into the view sets of people with my ideology. For example, I think being transgender simply isn't real, and that it is a popular fad that's just used for people without personalities to make into their whole identity.
      Secondly. I see that "wokeness" is just a holier-than-thou stunt to keep people in like and oppress original thoughts and real social progress. 🤔
      But at the same time.. When I see a video pointing these issues out.. I relate to some, because they are right. But then others, like this woman's channel "The Comment Section" says some of these things right, while spewing ignorent half truths, lies, conspiracy, and focused sessions on media updates like someone releasing a book that I just could not care less about if I tried.
      My point being.
      I don't feel like I fit in anywhere.
      My ideologies involves some things that reject me from one side (the left), but I also *hate* the other side (the right) with burning passion. 🔥

    PSA: About two weeks after my period, I will be doing my make up WAY MORE than usual and be incapable of stoping myself. I'll think "put down the brush! You have more important shit to do!!" and still won't be able to stop. This is when I'm ovulating. During ovulation, women's hormones are compelling them to mate which causes them to be more attractive (shinier hair, smoother skin, etc.), to
    "signal" their fertility to potential mates (wearing dresses and skirts, putting additional time into their appearance, etc.) and often times they will even experience an increased libido during this time.
    Women can observe changes in their own behavior/ feelings to be able to tell when in their cycle they typically ovulate. These changes will be much more pronounced when they are not on birth control (i.e. when this information is more applicable/useful to them) as with myself (don't worry I'm single and celibate). Educate yourself and observe your cycle, ladies. Gentlemen, you can also pay closer attention to your woman (especially about two weeks after her period) for some of the more outward indicators | listed above (I believe there's even more than that), as well as just asking your gf/ wife/partner about her birth control (when did you take it last, which one do you use, etc.). Family planning is a two way street, people!

And it’s great you always were and will be responsible, are keeping track of you cycle, have a super regular cycle and only meet men that are responsible and never inflicted pressure in a sexual context. I am happy for any woman that can say that.
    And I am happy to see so many responsible guys in the comments, that are totally willing to take care of their children, if the mother is not a lying, manipulative gold digger.

    "Men face zero consequences in a pregnancy"
    Every man paying child support would like to have a word with you.

    • @ariyahawkins7446
      @ariyahawkins7446 Год назад

      Child support is paid AFTER a child is born, this conversation is about conception. Frankly, your argument is worse: child support means the man didn't face the consequence of in-home fatherhood and coparenting with the child he helped concieve. All that author was saying is this: if we as a society have a problem with abortions, the first step is that men need to stop cumming in women without their explicit consent. That's what causes an unwanted and/or unplanned pregnancy. Men have control over their own penises everytime they decide to have sex, women can't stop a man from ejaculating into them because they can't control the man's penis! If the only thing a man has to worry about is money or child support, then that's an imbalance in responsibility -especially considering that women share that financial burden (single mothers especially), along with the physical, psychological, and spiritual costs of becoming a parent.

    • @Frame_Late
      @Frame_Late Год назад

      @@ariyahawkins7446 That's a whole lot of word salad.
      First of all, men and women have equal responsibility when it comes to pregnancy, full stop. I pointed out a real injustice that men face; that men have no choice in parenthood. If you can abort it, we should be able to abandon it. Otherwise, no abortions and no abandonment. A conceived child is a child that a man will have to support no matter what, so your entire spiel is moot.
      Secondly, you're talking about men making the choice to cum in a woman (something most men don't do without the express desire to have a child btw) think of it this way. A man uses a condom, the woman says she's on the pill, and they have sex. Little does the man know that the woman poked holes in the condoms and lied about taking the pill and now the woman is pregnant. The man has no idea that he was deceived and the woman gets a big fat child support check. The man has no say in this situation and the woman has all the control. Maybe Women should think about just how much control they have over their bodies before choosing to take from another (aka abortion and child support.)
      Finally, conservatives have been calling for men and women to have less sex for decades. Now that every option for women to dodge responsibility has been removed (to further promote equality might I add) now women want to act like sex is the issue and that we need to have less sex. Holy shit, it's almost as if marriage, abstinence and making smart choices have been promoted for decades because they work. Who would've thought. Too bad all these liberal women don't want to acknowledge the fact that they play an equal role in it and therefore they can prevent a pregnancy by closing their legs and saying no, but you can't expect liberals to take responsibility for anything, now can you? Women wanted to be whores, now they have to deal with the consequences of whoring around. The sexual revolution at it's finest.
      Oh, and by the way, many men do want to be a part of their children's lives. But sadly the women have an advantage in court and use the child as a weapon against the men. If you drive your men away and take their children from them don't expect support beyond a check in the mail. This is a crisis of your own making. And it gets even worse when a woman can abort their child without the father's express consent. How's that for a warning?

      That's true. There are many manipulative and vindictive mother's that use their children as weapons. That happened with my husband and his daughter. His daughter is all messed up now and her mother will probably never see her role. We fought to see her and sadly the law was on the mother's side. CPS had been called so many times by the school and we never got his daughter. They always wanted to give the mother chance after chance even though she was not fit to be with her. It's sad how the system failed my stepdaughter. We have our own children now and we're so grateful every day that we're married to each other.
