    Perf as usual the head cam shots do give us novices a better idea where to hit the cue ball to achieve position on the next ball. Best of luck in the qualifiers.

    From the POV camera a lot of those shots looked as if they would miss. Another great lesson. Cheers. 👍

      That's why you have to aim standing behind the ball, it's looks very different once you go down on the shot, but your brain will eventually calibrate the two views.

    Hi Michael, love the channel ❤ im still painfully trying to pot with any consistency 😂 Your videos have helped shake off at least some of the shackles of an arm length list of pre shot routine checks 😅 so thanks for that. Also, I've only ever in my life heard my parents (one of which was from Nottingham 🤷‍♂️) say "made a right pigs ear of this" 😂❤

  • @sharpvidtube

    There should be a headcam that's comfortable. Would be great to see this view in tournaments. Could probably do it with a drone hovering just above the head. The noise would block out sound from phones going off and sweet wrappers😂 Maybe an idea for the Shootout?

    For someone that really struggles with aiming this pov is like gold dust. I wish i could pot like this. I keep trying but it's not working. Ps ex pro matt says it's because I'm not sighting the potting angle correctly but he likes the fact I'm using helping side correctly. Anyway matt says hello. Good luck in the tournament this week

    can you please tell me which hip do you sit on when you are about go to down ?
    i think i over turn my hip or i might be sitting on wrong hip, my cue butt is always to the left of line of aim, offline.
    and i am sure the hip is causing it, do you sit on your right hip or left hip ? my right leg (leading leg) from behind looks like this \ and lots of gap between grip hand and the trouser pocket.
    please help me
    thank you

    The muscle pulsating on the left forearm, surely some kind of movement while down on the shot is causing that?

      Because pool is much much easier than snooker. You need to be much more accurate at snooker.

      Looks like ash that has not been stained or that has had the stain bleached out. I should do that to mine because I've become obsessed with having the chevrons up on every shot and it's one more distraction I don't need!

    It's all good if you have a snooker table.

    For the hour absolute joke.

      @wh7323 I'm in the same position. Love the game but can only afford a few hours in the local club every week or fortnight. I've always wondered how much better I could be if I had my own table but I just don't have a big enough house. I've had a 6ft table before and it really helped my pool playing but it just doesn't translate over to a full size snooker table.

      Join a local social club. You only pay for the light at about £2 to £3 an hour. A lot of the ones with bowling greens are open from noon until 11pm. There more of them than you think. It wasn't until I started playing in a league that I discovered there was one a hundred yards from a place I had lived for two years before I bought my first house!

    It’s curious that in another post you say left cuts need trace of right and right cuts need trace of left. In the left cuts you go center ball or even trace of left, in the right cuts you use correctly trace left. It’s exactly what I have being doing as a right handed all my snooker life.

    • @29memyselfandi
      @29memyselfandi 19 дней назад

      Can I ask why right cuts need a trace of left ?

    • @MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching
      @MichaelHoltSnookerCoaching  19 дней назад +1

      It’s the camera angle. I’ve actually thought this myself when I first used the head cam. When I did it again with a spotted cue ball it looked the same but the cue ball rotated the way it should hitting the spots I’m aiming at. On the left cuts when you think I’m left of centre the cue ball will move as if it has a little bit of right hand side off the cushion. This wouldn’t happen if I was hitting left of centre.
      It’s nothing to do with being right/left handed.

    You know, as someone who would be executed in Saudi Arabia for daring to want to exist free from persecution - i have a question. Will you openly and honestly, publicly condemn the atrocities committed every day by the state of Saudi Arabia? Did you play in the tournament caring at all about the billions of people, like myself, who would be persecuted there? If you won't speak out against it, you are directly supporting it. Which is your choice? (It might seem aimed at you, but it's an open question to all players who participated this week.)

      There is grain but for some reason the grain always disappears from my cue.
      I think it’s that I have very dry hands and somehow remove it. My cue is only 4/5 years old but looks and feels very old.
