"Just wait.." Dalton was so calm during that sequence of events complimenting her shot while he settled in for his shot. Great film! So bright and lush!
My favorite quote is, it’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves…. my whole life I have dreamed of hunting western big game, I met my wife, and she was like, do it, and the last two years I’ve been grinding and tearing up my body. Ugh, I’m not getting younger. Last year I finally saw mule deer and elk, chased the herd across the mountain. It was fun and miserable at the same time, strange how that works. When I was on the mountain, I thought to myself, if I die right here, no one is coming, just keep moving, one step at a time. When I was done, I was so drained, like nothing I’ve experienced. But I can’t wait to go again, I’m going to conquer myself and the mountain, one step at a time, just don’t stop…. Love the videos, stay motivated.
Great hunt, video quality, and epic story! 2 funny parts for me: "You do this with mom don't ya, the cold stuff?" .. and Tabitha waiting very patiently for Dalton to give that green light, he hardly got the "go ahead" out.. and bam! 😂
Exactly the awesome Blacktail action we were expecting. A lot of people say that blacktail is the "crap" deer. That they don't taste good or that they are inferior to Mule or Whitetail. That is far from the truth. I'd have to say that blacktail have one of the most beautiful hides and I'm a sucker for the character of each individual deer. Sitka or Columbian What an adventure with your daughter. Plus a lot of great grass-fed meat. I love the fact your producing your own material and videos. Ryan and Chiam, Great video!
Heck yes! No catch and release for Pailey, but Dad did have to help land the elusive Alpine Blacktailed Trout. Good shooting by the entire crew. That scenery was so impressive. I felt like I was watching some sort of computer generated imagery. Great stuff.
Tabatha has the patience of Job. For crying out loud Dalton, tell her how far away the deer is when she asks😂😉. Just kidding, Great job! Great shot Pailey!
So great seeing young people enjoying hunting and the great Alaskan landscape. Good to see these traditions being appreciated! Ryan provides interaction with his daughters that most fathers don't even "get". Patiently awaiting the next episode.
I loved this one as I knew I would. Your adventures Ryan are always exciting and educational. Your films are also very entertaining with the quality filming and inclusion of your cool kids. Dalton and Tabitha seem like the perfect team to hang with!
Ryan your daughter is so Hillary's mini me. What an awesome hunt and such beautiful country thanks for takin us along and oh yeah hooked in the mouth wow perfect cast
HA! Brings back memories for me. I actually retrieved a deer with a spinning rod for my dad many years ago. I was not talented enough to get the deer to "eat" my lure. I snagged him by the tail. Very cool film. Made me smile
Big high five to you and your daughter and everyone on this trip. What a memory. The lesson of “putting in the hard work, pays off” really comes through in this film. Who can say they had to break out the fishing gear to hunt a deer? Probably can count them on one hand for sure. And to get it in the lip🤷🏽♂️. When the good Lord shined on you he gave you 💯. Love the Northern Hunter guys/gals. Hunting will always bring together the right people to have a great time and learn regardless of the outcome. Great film Kiam!
For not living in Alaska, you know her temper well. Those blue sky days are seldom and few. And to have shared it with a daughter and good company… you are a blessed man sir.
Side hill it instead of side stepping, we side hill it! No talky talk do the walky walk! 😂😂😂 those are the memories that stay with us, father and daughter! Can't wait to do this with my daughter one day!
Super film Ryan. I've never seen someone fish a deer out of a lake, that was friggin awesome, the whole event was crazy as the deer bee-lined straight to the lake! I got to hand it to the ladies though, they took care of business in calm and cool fashion, congrats to you all on the first "meat round", can't wait for episode #2! Whack'em-n-stack'em
Great job Ryan- Way to keep grinding with Pailey. She is quite the hunter.(not surprised) She will never forget that time they spend with you. I lost my son five years ago at 28 Years Old Way too soon. That is the hardest things that a parent can go through . I would give up anything I have to be able to spend one last day on the mountain with him. Those are times our kids will never forget. Keep up the good work. Regards, David
Don’t just talk the talkie, walk the walkie! 💃🕺 Great film! Great bucks! Epic scenery in epic country. Definitely a bucket list hunt. Thanks for taking us along at home.
Dude those grass covered mountains are incredible!!! It looks like Switzerland or just a fairytale land!!! You wouldnt even need a sleeping bag, it looks so soft and inviting!!! Just gorgeous!!! That meat mustve been fantastic, those deer eating all that lush grass!!!
Great video!! I've been listening to the Northern Hunter podcast, and that is how I landed on your channel. I really enjoy watching and supporting real hunters. The best stories in life come from spending time with family and friends in the outdoors. 3 bucks in 30 minutes and fishing a buck from a lake are memories you'll never forget and stories you'll never stop telling. Keep up the great work, and God bless.
This video needs to be titled " Catchin Deers with the Lampers " 😂😂 what are the chances that Pailey makes the shot and then the buck runs and swims out in the lake and expires...i kept laughing as Ryan says no no no . Then to catch the buck right in the mouth 😂 come on this is too much lol . I don't know how it could get any better on episode 2 , but i can't wait to see it . Just another great video again .
Keep up the good work, I sure like how well you have networked with Dalton and his wife,I am sure your wife has been a big part of shaping you to be the man that you have become , able to share your experiences with younger generation so they can pass it on, You are an inspiration to your audience , Iam proud to be a part of it
What an incredible experience. When I watched that buck go into the water I was bummer for ya'll and then I immediately said "I wonder if they have a fishing pole and a treble" and bam! That was absolutely amazing! Way to go ya'll!
Man, I thought for sure Ryan was going to end up in his skivvies swimming for a buck. Great job on the cast master! I imagine this hunt was more memorable than some of your others being your daughter was on it with you. What an awesome bonding experience for the two of you to share with each other.
Catching a deer on a spinning rod was cool, but I think everyone was anticipating you stripping down to your skivvies and swimming out to the buck! That would have been cool (in every sense of the word) too! We al knew who was going to be the one swimming! 😁
Pailey, great job! You are tough and fun no matter the circumstances and I think you are a terrific role model for others...no matter our age. Keep enjoying life, family and the great outdoors and thanks for letting us tag along.
Wow! Everything went right, well except that Ryan didn’t catch a fish while fishing for deers. Hooking him in the lip, 4 shots, 4 down deer, no rain, showing a little bare thigh, “some of us have spikes and some of us don’t”, lots of deer, amazing. Great job everyone and great filming and editing, loved it.
It was Awesome that Ryan was able to "LEAGLY" catch that blacktail, by the mouth!! GREAT SHOOTINGto all involved . Congratulations to all. Love watching your adventures.
That whole hunt was awesome so far as expected. I watch all your episodes multiple times, but this one had me cracking up 🤣 watched it 4x times, everything from fishing for a deer and the conversation on how to climb the hill priceless!!!
My motto has always been "If you don't cast a line, you're not going to get anything" implying to trying no matter what. But, I would have never thought it would be literal for a deer in the water. In the mouth at that too. Haha thats awesome. Great film and beautiful country. Cant wait for part 2.
Me and my wife and three boys sit down to watch these movies you guys do for family time before bed and the boys going big buck big buck. Thank you for these movies and can’t wait for the next ones to come. Might have to take my kids and wife on a trip like this
Ha ha ha, I have never seen a black tail get flossed! Thats incredible! Thats one that will be told around many campfires even outside of your group. Great memories. I am excited for round 2!
Love these memories and lessons being passed on from father to daughter. We got to take our daughter hunting for the first time this year! Such a crucial lesson to teach our children. Can’t wait to see more hunts like these 🤍
Us old school guys had to hold a mini mag light in our mouth when walking at night 😄. The new generation are so lucky to have GoPro, spotting scope /phone video capabilities. We never had walking sticks either. Can't believe how nice your weather was. Great hunt, thanks for sharing. Bet that meat was delicious.
“FIRST BUCK ON A CAST MASTER!” Had me crying 😂
God is good. Hit my 200 days sober yesterday. Mind/body is feeling strong.
4 People, 4 Bullets, 4 Bucks, 1 episode… Can’t wait to watch the next!!!
😊. Not sure it could’ve gone better! Maybe a cold plunge🤷♂️
"Just wait.." Dalton was so calm during that sequence of events complimenting her shot while he settled in for his shot.
Great film! So bright and lush!
He’s a call and steady dude for sure
Amazing country. Great video. Cool deer. Thanks
That first buck wanted to make recovery as difficult as possible. “I hope you brought your raft Lampers” hahaha
I think Tabitha's patience has limits.
“Ok go ahead and shoo…boom!😂

Great message! Fun and miserable the same time is where you want to be🙌🏻
Great job on hook line and deer Ryan not going to lie I wanted to see someone go for a swim it looked like it could have been a cold one!!!
That would’ve been 🥶. And it would’ve be on me to do it
“Side hill instead of side step”
😂 this is father daughter goals. Love watching you guys
Great hunt, video quality, and epic story! 2 funny parts for me: "You do this with mom don't ya, the cold stuff?" .. and Tabitha waiting very patiently for Dalton to give that green light, he hardly got the "go ahead" out.. and bam! 😂
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah Tabitha was half squeezed already when he said go😂

Agreed. Thank you

😂. No kidding! The landscape was unreal
World record black tail on 10 lb test line, and a really nice rifle trophy, too.
6 lb😜
Mosquito nets, velvet black tail, family and friends = great times.
Agreed!
Great film! That country is incredible....Thanks for sharing it with us.
It really is! Thanks
Tabatha has the patience of Job. For crying out loud Dalton, tell her how far away the deer is when she asks😂😉. Just kidding, Great job! Great shot Pailey!
Haha no kidding!
Missed opportunity to lay the fishing pole in front of the deer for the grip and grin. Nice job:)
Oooof you’re right🤦
So great seeing young people enjoying hunting and the great Alaskan landscape. Good to see these traditions being appreciated! Ryan provides interaction with his daughters that most fathers don't even "get". Patiently awaiting the next episode.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it🙌🏻
I looked at Shell & said hey! We ate dinner with that Dalton guy when we were in Fairbanks! Great shooting & casting everyone!
Haha . We all sure did buddy. Hope you two are well
As soon as Dalton green lights Tabitha, not a second later, bang! Haha, I thought no chance, she flinched…dumped him! Cheers Tabitha, that was sick!
Daggone Ryan! Next time you gotta Wim Hoff that swimming deer!
It almost happened
And this was the last hunt a raft was not carried along. Great hunt!
Haha correct! We were tight on weight so we left it in town 🤦
Success weighs a lot. This one was real heavy! This is girl dad stuff done the right way.
Thanks you. Agreed
I loved this one as I knew I would. Your adventures Ryan are always exciting and educational. Your films are also very entertaining with the quality filming and inclusion of your cool kids. Dalton and Tabitha seem like the perfect team to hang with!
Thanks Phil. They were truly excellent to hunt with out there and we hope to do it again someday

After knowing Dalton for a little over a year it's good to see one of his hunts looks great awesome camera quality
He’s a great dude to hunt with

Guessing its somewhere kodiak, do miss the first 2 hours of bushwhackin it always takes, especially devils claw. Scenery is the bomb.

Thanks David, so sorry for your loss.
Such beautiful country and I won’t ever forget Ryan catching a black tail with the old reliable kastmaster
It always works😂
Just glad you didn’t have to sidestep the side hill while fishing for deer!
😂well said
Topwater "catching deers" is next level. What an awesome day of hunting and memories made.
I instantly liked the video after the buck retrieval. Love getting the next generation involved.
Just savor the memories, weather, times with your daughter and the fine fare around the table with your family. Best life to live!
These are the stories that are retold for generations. Congratulations!
Don’t just talk the talkie, walk the walkie! 💃🕺
Great film! Great bucks! Epic scenery in epic country. Definitely a bucket list hunt. Thanks for taking us along at home.
😂Glad you enjoyed it
One of the only times when asking, “Did you catch anything?” after a hunt would be appropriate 😂
I can now say yes😂
That's gives a whole new meaning to catching deers. Nice save dad!
At least the random couple will talk some smack in the absence of PEDRO😅
True!😂
Dude those grass covered mountains are incredible!!! It looks like Switzerland or just a fairytale land!!! You wouldnt even need a sleeping bag, it looks so soft and inviting!!! Just gorgeous!!! That meat mustve been fantastic, those deer eating all that lush grass!!!
Great bucks! Nothing like casting for blacktails in the dark my favorite pastime!😂
I can’t believe you fished the deer out of the lake, that was crazy. Can’t wait for pt.2
Keep up the good work👍
More to come! Thanks and yeah thank god for that fishing rod!
Fantastic film and hunt! When folks ask "did you catch a deer", you can say yes, yes I did!

Great hunt
Father daughter memories that you both will never forget
“You and me catch’n deers in the dark.” Haha!!
What an incredible experience. When I watched that buck go into the water I was bummer for ya'll and then I immediately said "I wonder if they have a fishing pole and a treble" and bam! That was absolutely amazing! Way to go ya'll!
Love Paileys logic on we can just sidehill instead of side stepping. 😂Congrats on 4 great bucks.
😂 always looking for a better way to get up the steep ones
Right on Ryan, you're one of the best! Wish you and your family wellness.
I appreciate that! Thanks
Man, I thought for sure Ryan was going to end up in his skivvies swimming for a buck. Great job on the cast master!

Catching a blacktail Ian the best thing I’ve ever seen! Somebody get the net😂. Bonk.

Great episode I truly love the dad and daughter hunts. Good to see Great dad's spending time with their kiddos. Me and my daughter also hunt together
Right on. The fam trips are the best of trips
It is classic Ryan to find and shoot the biggest buck. Love the film! You inspire us to hunt harder!!

It was Awesome that Ryan was able to "LEAGLY" catch that blacktail, by the mouth!!
GREAT SHOOTINGto all involved . Congratulations to all.
Love watching your adventures.
Just found your content in the last week while recovering from surgery. So inspired and motivated for the future. Thanks for the mental medicine!
Glad you’re enjoying!
This story and film is awesome. Stories like “fishing” the buck out of the lake make for such a memorable incredible experience.
I really enjoyed this film. The cinematography was great and so was the story.
Fishing for Blacktail..Love it….😂
So excited to see Sthealthy films coming out. Building on the Gritty traditions, great hunts, great people, and excellent filmography.
Us too! Thanks
Yet again another amazing family oriented film, my daughter won't miss a drop and asks daily to watch y'all hunt!! Thank you for what you're doing
Oh how cool😊
Awesome hunt! Congratulations to all. When the buck died in the water, it was the ultimate welcome to Alaska hunt. Can't wait for the next video.
Just like a moose hunt right😂
That whole hunt was awesome so far as expected. My daughter, son and myself spent the weekend watching all the prior spring bear and Alaska hunts with Brian and Chris again and they absolutely love it! That Alaska moose and caribou hunt are crazy the sheer amount of antler and meat being rafted out is insane 🫣😬
Loved the film, excited for part 2! Here from the northern hunter 👊😎
That's a lot more giggles than I've heard in a hunting video before ha! Not Lamper's usual company it seems but it compliments his stoic quietness well.
Great video!!! I've been waiting since the teaser clip.

Love it!! You guys definitely should
Wow wow, what a story that first buck is. Pailey earned a rare story with a successful conclusion. Looked like a great start to the hunt.
Got to love the fishing hack!!! Buckcaster lol😂
Gotta say, Pailey might just be the stealthiest one of the bunch! She's like a ninja with antlers! 🦌 #DadDaughterDuo #NatureNinjas
Agreed!
Amazing hunt! I can’t wait to start taking my daughter out hunting with me this year. Shes 7 and loves watching the films where Pailey hunts.
That’s cool, not much longer of a wait to get her out 🎉
Ha ha ha, I have never seen a black tail get flossed! Thats incredible! Thats one that will be told around many campfires even outside of your group. Great memories. I am excited for round 2!
Love these memories and lessons being passed on from father to daughter. We got to take our daughter hunting for the first time this year! Such a crucial lesson to teach our children. Can’t wait to see more hunts like these 🤍
I can’t wait until my boys are old enough to start going on adventures like that 🤩
Us old school guys had to hold a mini mag light in our mouth when walking at night 😄. The new generation are so lucky to have GoPro, spotting scope /phone video capabilities. We never had walking sticks either. Can't believe how nice your weather was. Great hunt, thanks for sharing. Bet that meat was delicious.
I personally like a bait caster for catchin deer but I like your style 🤙
That magic time in the evening!😜👍👍👍. Also just do a cold plunge Ryan n go get the deer 🤪🤪. Awesome video!👍
If I hadn’t brought that rod, cold plunge it was🥶
