I used to show the gifts as part of ' @The Chateau Diaries ' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us 💖💖💖
If you would like to see more of our life at the chateau, please go to our main 'Chateau Diaries' channel:

It’s dangerous to put that big woodblock into such a small oven😮 The enamel can be destroyed if you fire so hard. Oven plates can twist, causing the oven to crack, which in turn causes the oven to have an uncontrolled air supply. Never fill the combustion chamber more than two-thirds full. Chimneys bursting and flames engulfing the house🙈It is then important to fire within what the fireplace or stove is designed for. Just a rants from a Norwegian with lots of experience with wood burning 😅
@@marionkuipers2859 You probably could have said that a little nicer? 😮
@@marionkuipers2859he has a name and he knows what he's doing! It's their chateau they'll know better 😏
@@marionkuipers2859 That’s SO rude!
What's rude about giving sensible advice from an experienced Norwegian? It could prevent a catastrophic fire.
I really have to make a comment about the large piece of wood Phillip put in the stove.
If the stove gets too hot it can crack the internal heat bricks but worst of all if too much heat comes out of the stove, it can cause damages to surrounding areas ie; fire surrounds even causing plaster to detache from the ceiling I know from experience.
I do feel the most beautiful teapot and very expensive shouldn't be put on top of the stove, once cracked it is beyond repair.
I also think the heat could damage the back of the chairs.
I don't like making negative comments but I'm really worried you will have damages.
I left my stove open full and forgot it. Hence the ceiling cracking and falling.
It’s a comment out of caring. I was thinking the same things!!
You should invest in a log splitter for Philip
Yes!!!😬
My first quick comment: Be very very careful about overloading the firebox of your log burners. Consequences can be serious including damage to the venting system or the firebox itself. Remember, only you can prevent unnecessary chatastrophies.
I love that Phillip is not only unafraid but proud to be of a romantic heart.
Log splitter? I think that Yulesized log was a mistake.🦔🦔🦔🔥🔥🔥
🖐🏼Nope, I didn't know about the ottor having a pouch for their favourite rock. How utterly adorable. As are those hedgehogs! Awww.
Such heart-warming gifts and literally warming with you rnew duvet!!!
Love, Jacqueline from New Zealand who also has a large log on the fire 🔥
yes first time i heard about an otter storing a rock under his "arm" and i watch all the time, i must of missed it before 🤣🤣
Stephanie ( Nati) I hope you are archiving all of these wonderful letters. Imagine how new discoverers of Lalande will relish them in 200 years time!
I binge watched all your past vlogs during the quarantine, and I am now a faithful viewer, thank you, but I had never heard Phillip talk of the behavior of otters before today! I did know they hold hands while they sleep and rest afloat in the water so as not to drift apart, but I did not know whey have an underarm pouch in which they store a rock! I love that Phillip says they store "their favorite rocks" in these pouches, though I think they place rocks in these pouches as a way to counter their buoyancy. Maybe both perspectives are true, the rocks provide weight and make them less buoyant/floaty and they become attached to the rock which is the right weight for them!
Please have someone SPLIT the logs before putting them into such a small place!
I have to say, it was the first time I had heard the otter story lol. How adorable 🤗
me too
@@janinebarron2691 me too😂
My partner and I also call each other my otter half, and have for years. There are videos of the otters floating around holding hands. =)
Muy Feliz Cumplí Nattie. What a joyful video, the Snowman cards are priceless. Thanks so much for always having such delightful moments and fun.
Decant the salts into wee pouch bags with ribbon for the guests, that way its a treat for them NOT from a half used jar !! No one would use that much for a short stay anyway !! And it would be just the right amount for a guest stay. Xx
Why not just chop the wood in 2 or 3 smaller pieces?
Or at least have someone do the chopping.
The logs. Trying to put a gallon in a pint pot comes to mind. 😂
. . .and Dan the Man! (The gloves!)
Such wonderful gifts. I love watching gift opening and anything La Lande. I check every day to see if anything has been posted. Thank you so much for sharing.
The chemistry between you3 (all the Lalanders!) are wonderful. ♥️🇿🇦
Beautiful gifts as always !
Pls next time show us your new beddings 😍
Hugs to everyone
Some homes here in the US put a cast iron pot on top of burner with water in it for added humidity!
Putting on logs that big could cause fires where you don't want them
I'd love to see that duvet! As always, fun time and lovely gifts! I never miss one🤩
I think the gifts for the men were very specific who they go to. If you read it carefully.
Ok at around 21:14 minutes when Phillip opened the otter socks, I fully expected a pun from him such as “they were “ otterly adorable”. 🤣. This was a fun vlog. Thank you !
First time I’ve heard about otter pit pocket! So cute we have otters here I had no idea how specialized they are thank you P.
FYI there are jackets with battery operated heaters inside the coats. Originally developed for ski coaches standing on hills all day in the cold. Cheers from Toronto
It’s the first time I’ve ever heard this about the otters!! Love it:)
Michael always sends wonderful gifts
I love to see the gifts from all over the world! Thank you for introducing me to a world of new products to shop for online!! Lol. Enjoy!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees s hedgehog figurine now thinks of Phillip!!!! So cute
Darn! Was hoping to see the duvet all situated!!
Guess we’ll have to wait for the next vlog 😋
I know it sounds silly but I find a joyful when Stephanie calls out the State that the gift comes from. Am I the only one? Lol
Thank you all, you're all so warm and welcoming. I've just had so much fun watching your vlogs. God bless you all for all the fun.
Always a delight to share in your joy at receiving gifts, and the generous people who have sent them.
And yes, Stephanie and Philip, I chose a range of glove styles, material and colors with no particular Chateau personality in mind. So anyone can step up and claim their favorite pair of winter wear, male or female!
I thought the gloves you sent to LaLande were fabulous Michael, you are so generous. I also thought Philip’s choice was the perfect pair for him. 👏👌
You are always so thoughtful in your gift giving ❤
🤗 Michael T: You're very kind. Love your charming (& useful) gifts 🎁. I'm sure the rest of the ⚜️LaLande men will line up for them 🧤.
😉 Maybe even the ladies who spend a lot of time outdoors🌾. Your cards are wonderful too.
🙏God bless you!🕊
💚Bridget from Cali☘️
(using my pal's YT acct)
I am sure Dan will love 😍 the working gloves. He needs them.
It's my first time hearing the favorite rock otter story! ✋😂🥰
lol split the log first lol
As a low waste enthusiast I encourage you to save all the canning jars to use for preserving food, food storage, or anything your heart desires. Or I’m sure the thrift stores around you would love them because people love to thrift canning jars. :)
They have enough clobber to contend with..give them a break
@@ClaraknowsALL221 I get we have a lot to do, but If we don’t make steps to be more eco friendly, even if they require a bit more exertion, the planet is going to die. Now with that being said, I get that a person can only do what a person can do. So that’s why I said “encourage” not “demand.”
Just wondering if you think the RUclips vlogger gloves are referring to Dan?
I knew about otters holding hands to sleep and using rocks to open shells.
Have never heard about the rock pocket! 😮
Happy Birthday Natalie as my birthday to yesterday as well the 27th hope you have a lovely day
This weeks gifts were truly fantastic and generous and will surely be appreciated for a long time.
Really shows how attentive the followers are to details in videos, things mentioned, needed, and the personal styles and likes of everyone at the chateau. How that beautiful duvet with sheet will keep you snug and look smashing with your bed, Sultana sends such fabulous gifts! 😍
Sultana has the best taste. I'm in love withthe coat she sent last winter.
there's a pair of gloves for Dan too.
I think Michael could just send a package full of his clever cards and we would all be absolutely delighted! (No, I am not saying the gifts aren't always thoughtful and beautiful, 'cause they are. But the extra time and effort he puts into the cards and poems really make the gifts all the more special!)
I think that's a different Michael.
@@LindaLandsverk You are probably correct! I did not mean to offend, if there is more than one, I enjoy them both!
It is Michael T. He was a guest and is friend of Lalande
Phillip, I had never heard of the fact that otters hold hands while they are asleep so they do not drift apart, and I would like to hear about the pouch under their arms? Is that how they hold on to each other? The information was lost in the babble of voices at that point, but I can just imagine these darling animals sleeping holding on to each other in some way. Darling! Thank you for loving animals so much - we need increasing numbers of people that love them, rather than those that don't. Love you.
Yes, and they form a chain link of them so families don't drift apart and it's called a raft.
Yes, they really do hold hands, bobbing on the water
What a joy it is to share your happiness and loving humility. You receive such thoughtful gifts and always show such true delight in them. Your little clan of friends are truly special and intriguing. . 🌻 always remember to take a moment out of each day, make a small memory with a friend and place it in your heart ❤
Stay warm, healthy and happy 😊
Thank you Phillip didn't know that about Otters, know wonder you love them.
What fabulous bath goodies, did they say the proceeds go towards adults with learning problems. If they are a charity perhaps they could be considered for your Cadeaux donations
Happy Monday Sue, That’s so thoughtful of you, Thanks for your positive review, How are you.. where are you from and how’s the weather over there?
Loving your Jacket Stephanie it’s Fabulous 👌🏻👍👍❤️
Michael always sends beautiful and appropriate to season, situation or personal gifts. The insight he has for the gifts he gives are dead on the mark for the recipients. Just shows how insightful and wonderful of a man that he is.
Thanks for sharing....I'm amazed at what gifts flow to Lalandé
Beautiful Gifts. Everyone Is So Kind Stephanie. Philip Nati. Love To You All. Xx 😘😊
Wow the gifts today are really nice. Stephanie, I think maybe the zipper pouch might be for putting in the warmers for the hand. Also happy birthday Natalie, happy valentine and then looking forward to Easter. God bless you and yours. Love, jenwhite 💜💕😊
How exciting to hear about Michigan and Shipshewanna on the vlog today. Though I am from PA now, I’m originally from Michigan!
i thought you would smother flame, but no. chopping wood though is good for arms.........
Such lovely and thoughtful gifts. Blessings.
I live in Michigan also and we love going to Shipshewana Indiana. If you get a chance Google it. Such a cute little town and fun to see all the Amish riding around in their horse and buggies. Lots of craft and specialty shops.
Reading the title, I thought for sure you were gifted an electric blanket. I was wrong, but is luxurious to get into a warm, cozy bed in the winter - just as luxe as the beautiful bedding you received!
☃And I LOVED the snowmen cards! I have a heart for snowmen being from MinneSNOWta, USA. ⛄
In Canada we can buy little cast iron fans that sit on the wood burner and the heat turns the fan blade and it helps move the heat into the room. And they are very quiet
Drinking game = One drink every time Philip says "Beautiful". So cute.
🤣😅
And 1 everytime Stephanie says I love it. 😁
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATALIE 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁
Beautiful gifts Such generosity
I loved the necklace. Heat by fire is always the warmest.
What beautiful gifts, each one so sensible and will be used so gratefully by the Lalande family. I love sharing your joy and laughter when opening gifts. Thank you 💕🇦🇺
What beautiful gifts again today. Stephanie, I had a little giggle when you said you had a rather thin feather duvet that is not quite warm enough for winter - I have the opposite problem of having a feather duvet that is too warm for our climate, so I said (to the TV) ‘Let’s swap’!!😅🥰
Great vlog! Thanks Stephanie, Phillip and Nattie
What wonderful gifts. The amazing scrubs, bath salts & soaps, the exquisite vibrant silky duvet cover, beautiful jewellery & mens gloves. Phillip made me smile with his love & enthusiasm sharing the otto story. Natalia giggles when seeing white chocolates and spreads so much joy around her.❤😁🧤🦫🦔
🤩Another cosy🔥 episode 🍵. Beautiful & amazing gifts 🎁 by lovely & generous ⚜️LaLanders. The scarf, tie, duvet, brooches, ear muffs, earrings, hedgehog statuary, & more were all absolutely delighful. 🛀Enjoy your slow epsom soaks & soaps🧼. Can't wait to see all the spectacular linens around the Chateau🏰. 🎈Happy belated birthday🌬🎂, dear Nati!
🦦Must say, this episode left me otterly smiling🎉! Blessings to all!

Always a delight to see the awesome gifts
Sitting in a black out after a snowy day in Mallorca!! Yes snow!! Would love that fire right now! ❄️🥶🤦🏼♀️😎✌️
Snow in Mallorca - how strange.🤔
We just finished with a little blizzard here in Minnesota, received 18 inches over 2 days. Spring can't come early enough. And yes 18 inches over 2 days🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶
You can definitely put a little sachet with those scrubs and salts in the guests' bathrooms. Very nice!
You two....💞
First time hearing about the precious little otters ❤
Happy Birthday Nati, I just turned 59 today February 28th!
And the otters mate for life.
Phillip my 3 yo son is mad about otters too for similar reasons. He even had an otter themed birthday last year.
Those scrubs look great... I couldn't help but notice, though. The jars they came in were jam canning jars. They cost around £30 for x6, so once used wash them out and reuse them for future jam projects, being glass, they won't hold on to smells once washed. Xx
I love you all! Thank you for all you do and all you share❤ xx
Julia thank you very much for the brooch!
I knew about the hand holding but I’ve never heard about the rock pocket. I’ll be going down a wiki rabbit hole after the gifts are unwrapped. ❤️🇨🇦
Beautiful scrubs and soaps, wonderful gift. I don’t like baths, I have showers. I realised the last time I had a bath was approx. 33 years ago when I had surgery and couldn’t stand under a shower. 🥰🤣🤣 the bedding was wonderful.
I learned over the years, everyone should have 2 duvets, with different weights of filling, for winter & spring. Enjoy the warmer winter weight....
Copy a page and put it up on the back of your bathroom door to remind you to do the exercises. This helps till you get into a routine.
Thank you for the gratuitous glimpse of the casa pupo......xxxx
Stephanie, someone may have already said this about the gloves you opened up at 30:10 that had the zipper compartment. You can slip in a little hand warmer and it will keep your hands nice and toasty for hours :)
Ahahahaha no, I hadn't heard about otters keeping their favorite rock under/in their armpit! But I did know they hold hands.
I love all the colors of the enamel wood stoves.
Wow, what a wonder gifts. And the warm reaction when opening them, you are all beautiful. Love you all Lalanders you are all the most lovely people.
I love sea otters! They’re so darn cute!!!
Thank you for sharing. Blessings
Such a delight watching your joy in opening all these beautiful gifts from generous people. Nati you have the same birthday as my granddaughter who turned 13 on 2/7. Happy belated birthday 🥳 🎂😍😘 I’m a February birthday girl as well (2/27). Thanks for sharing all the joy 😍😘
How sweet all the gifts , I have some but because of disability pension I'm saving to send from Australia , something Vintage for Stephenie, x 😊
Curtains for kitchen the blue border. Or, you could use as ties against long curtains for a room.
Phillip you scare me with those logs and the fire.
You've donated to many of the charities are dear to my heart. Thank you for your consideration. ❤
I recommend an Aussie wool comforter.
What a joy to watch, as usual!
This is the first time I've heard about the otters holding hands while sleeping. I'll look it up!
Enjoy vlog again but it would be fun to put those snowman cards in a frame and hang them up at Christmas to give everyone a giggle
Beautiful gifts..😊💞👌👍🇨🇦
