I have two Case 63 knives. They are great little "gentleman carry" knives! One dates from 2004 and is just like yours, with the Eisenhower signature blade etch, but with a corn cob jigged bone. My other one was made in 1973 with a "TESTED XX RAZOR EDGE" blade etch and slightly-jigged brown bone. But the very interesting difference is the fact that the older one is thinner because it only has one liner on each side. If you look carefully at a modern 63 you will see that there is an extra brass liner, or spacer, on one side of the knife. This gives them a little bit more room to fit the blades in. I guess the old-time cutlers were skillful enough that they didn't need that extra width. The old 63 blades fit very tightly and show only a little bit of blade rub. (I actually think that I caused that rub years ago when I had a bit of an emergency and used the main blade to pry on something.)
That is interesting. Thanks for sharing that information. These are really cool knives and you are correct about them being gentlemen knives. Thanks prh!
That Eisenhower is a gorgeous piece. I really need to hunt one of those down for my collection, fantastic little pattern and I like the history behind it. Cheers, buddy!
Nice review, lots of good info, thanks for the shoutout. That 33 penknife blade reminds me of the russlock blade sweeping down. You are welcome, glad you liked the gift RJ, be safe.
Fantastic video RJ! The RR Senator is one i was not gonna get but the Intern convinced me! Great RR. thanks for showing the Cases. Beautiful knives and great history.
I’m the same way, the Senator makes me want the Capitol Intern. The Case Senators are really cool. I want to add some of those to the collection. Thanks Andrew!
I like the equal end Eisenhower and the Rough Rider Senator I have a couple Case Caribbean Blue bone knives that I like too. A Wright & Son make a 3 1/2" Senator pattern but it is a little costly compared to the Rough Rider. I liked the blades better in the Rough Rider.
I like the Eisenhower knife. I will keep an eye out for one in the future. The senator from RR is a nice knife also. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks Gizmo!
Hello Mr. RJ, I seen you on BigJ's knives live last night. I didn't realize that I wasn't subscribed to you. I don't know how I had missed you brother. But, I'm in there now bud. I'll be catching up now. 😊 Chat later ✌🏼👍🏻
Hey RJ, Great video, some interesting information… Love the blue bone that Case do 🔥 Those RR Spade’s series knives are great… the Senator look cool with the spear blade. Thanks for this one brother 😎🙏🏻
Those lil Case blades are some gentleman carry's for sure!! I been wanting to get a better look at that blue rogers bone, looks pretty good!! That RR Dwarfs those Case Blades!! Thanks for sharing RJ!!
As far as Senators go, the RR could be a fat cat and the Case is a junior Senator, lol! That blue Rogers bone is sweet. I need a trapper with those covers. Thanks Big J!
I think that it’s really cool that he was a knife guy. Like a lot of men of his time, he enjoyed the smaller size knives. I wish he was running for office today. We need a guy like him! Thanks Tim!
I think this year would be the perfect year for Case to bring out the Eisenhower as the Vault pattern, it being the 80th anniversary of the D Day invasion.
@@RJsKnives Well sure, you can even get one of those stand alone pizza ovens which makes something respectable and delicious, but I can't duplicate what I crave. I have to drive to get something really good bc what's close is not great. To get authentic is a whole different story.

I just got the Rough Ryder capital intern a few weeks ago and it's my favorite one.
Sensational senator series. 👏
They are cool knives and a neat part of history. Thanks Michael!
Awesome knives! Great video RJ 👍
Thanks Jeremy!
I love the blue handles
Me too. They go perfect with the Rogers jigging. Thanks Kathleen!
Very interesting pattern. Never paid any attention to them. I’ll check one out thanks for sharing!
I only recently heard of them. They are really kind of neat. Thanks Aaron!

I agree, the blue bone is beautiful. Case does a great job of dying the covers. RR does also. Thanks Sean!

I like the Black Appaloosa series. I have some more reviews coming up on them.
@@RJsKnives I dig those covers too. More cool traditionals anticipated!
That's a really great blue!
I agree! Life’s too short not to have pretty knives!
I Like Ike!
I’ve been to his boyhood home in Abilene, KS.
Didn’t know he was a knife guy..: very cool.
Good stuff as always brother 👊🏻

That’s a fact!!
Gotta get a Senator
Yes, after handling this one, I definitely want to add one or more to the collection.

I agree and I hope it is. I would love to add one of these to my collection. Thanks Rick!
We like IKE!
Me too! If only we could get some one like that to run for office today!
Very nice.
Thanks Jeff!
@@RJsKnives you're welcome
Love that blue! ❤️🔪
Me too! It’s a really pretty series. Thanks Radiogeek!
Forget the Chinese Made Knives ! I like the USA Made Case Knives !
I have both on the channel. Check out my Case playlist for just Case content. Thanks Thunderbolt!
Loving pizza and not being close to any proper options is a specific kind of torment.
That’s when you knuckle down and learn to make your own. My son did that. Now he makes his own crust and gets his own toppings. It is doable!
