And as I said german dubbing is very professional, so professional that certain actors get their personal voice actors. Having to read subs is really, really distracting. Of course, if you english is good enough and the actors aren't mumbling or using too much slang, then I also prefer to watch the original. But in many cases, watching the dubbed one is much more relaxing. And many actors got so great german voices that you don't want to miss them. There are even cases where the german dubbing is superior. The Bud Spencer & Terence Hill movies, for example, are much more popular in germany than in their home country mainly because of the legendary dubbing. I am always amazed why foreigners think so bad of dubbing. I watched a few american dubbings and yeah, those are bad, so I guess you just assume german ones are equally bad, but that just isn't the case. If a dub is seen as an annoying chore you just have to do for some realeses and don't put much effort into it, you'll get results accordingly. But here in germany it's an entire industry.
