Oh man Cavan, I loved that! It really took me back! I'm a magic enthusiast born in 1964, so I'm a tad bit older than you. I still have old photographs of me as a kid performing magic I got in different sets that I received over the years. It was a little different back then, so I had a black hat, white gloves, and a wand. :) Even as a kid I would get frustrated at how every AMAZING set had mostly the same old tricks. The same plastic cups, the same way to big thumb tip, the same mirrored glass and the same trick card decks that looked like cheap trick card decks. I had dozens of magic books, my favorite being Houdini's Book of Magic and my stack of Magic Magazine's. My favorite magicians back then were Bill Bixby (who was also a tremendous actor), Paul Daniels, Mark Wilson and David Copperfield. Anyways, those old sets still make me feel a certain way every time I see them. My love for magic started when I went home with a boy I met in school. His dad was a professional magician and had a warehouse full of magic props. The zig zag lady, the metamorphous trunk, the sword basket, and countless other magical chests full of fake rabbits, colorful balls, and other props. The thing that really caught my eye though was a full-size guillotine, complete with a basket to catch the severed head. His dad sent me home with a whole box of tricks, (including a miniature guillotine that would cut a carrot in half but leave your finger intact)! Of course, he taught me how to do all the tricks, but told me to practice every trick in front of a mirror over-and-over again until I started fooling myself. I've loved magic ever since. So, watching you break out your old magic sets really took me back. Thanks! 🪄 P.S. Don't forget to say "abracadabra" whenever you make the magic happen, or it simply won't work! Duh, everyone knows that! 🎩
I know this video is 5 years now, but that coin-trick with the "cups" is actually a pretty nice one, and in my opinion very well crafted. You can also do the classic 'cups n balls'-move and smash the coins through the other cylinder, and finish off the whole illusion by getting the coins to vanish by closing the cylinders, spin them around until they separate and "fall apart" / open up. 🙂
I have a question. I have a Mirz Ultimate Street Magic set and it came with what I can best describe as a metal ashtray that has felt on the inside bottom and outside bottom. Going thru the booklet, I do not see mention of such an item, nor any diagrams. Do you know what it is possibly for?
I literally just did a magic show to my mom and dad . They loved it there were disco lights and music. And my parents were shocked I did excellent magic tricks. I some I made up. Btw this vid was amazing.
Those dynamic coins! I'm quite sure I knew how they worked but it worked so well that I couldn't tell. You were just tapping into the coin God's to make them appear. And I imagine it's hard to knock that stack over like at the carnival. And I think I figured out more while leaving this comment. Tubular dude! See what I did there🤓
that was spooky, it was the jack of spades i was thinking of. some really great tricks cavan. i dont know if you collect cards but had to clear out the loft of my uncles house and came across 4 sets of cards made by pepys and a boxed set of cards made by de la rue for george the 6. do you have a p.o box.
Hey Cavan my first video will be uploaded tomorrow after I get home from school I will be doing a magic trick along with giving the reason on why I haven’t been active with magic on RUclips lately but other then that wonderful and amazing video by you !!!!
I don't know why you are surprised that something that's been stored away in plastic storage boxes are in good condition. Who would have thought that items stored away carefully would be in the same condition as when they were stored away. It would be more surprising if they were all falling in bits.
Cavan Booth yeah I try I more or less collect them and show kids what's out there may start doing review of books to like tarbell and such guess it's a alternative for me instead of revealing stuff like others do we have millions of channels for that loo
@@s0up1x68 Always appreciate magic for the performance and not the method. I'm a professional magician, so I know most tricks that are performed. But I still love seeing them to see how people perform them in ways I've mot seen before. Magic is all about entertainment and performance and never just how it's done!

You from the midlands? What do you think of the Marvin's sets in the UK?
As simple as it is the haunted key can be a very entertaining effect with a story added to it.
It would be a nice challenge to make it a trick I'd perform!

I was fooled by the cylinder trick with the coins don't know much about coin mqgic. Fooled! 😂 and that trick with the key is Pen and teller worthy 😂

I wonder whether you are a magician yourself...you don't seem to take your art seriously...! That's a shame!
