This one might be a little tough for your class...many music classes do not go beyond the first 4 or 5 chords (C, F, G (Or G7), Am). We have many other play alongs if your teacher wants to look at the list (free) at ukeplayalongs.com
After a long time of uke I can finally play the song that made me want a uke in the first place

Yeah...it's isn't easy. But none of the Stephen Universe songs are, and I think that's why they are of interest to us! My suggestion: use that gear icon on the main RUclips channel to slow the video down and retain the pitch, until you can speed it up!

This is a challenging song for a beginner...just be aware of that. I’d go to ukeability.org and work on songs with easier chords (choose the ones you know).
The song changed into its final form about mid way and kick my butt. 😂
It goes deep and crazy out of nowhere...if you think playing it is tough, you should have seen me trying to figure out what chords were useable on the ukulele.

I’ve thought about it and have been waiting to see the response to this one. While I don’t base what I do or don’t do on numbers, to date this one hasn’t had the response I would have hoped for. So...I’ll probably get around to more songs eventually but it isn’t anywhere on the priority list right now.

You can do it! make sure to hold your Ukulele firmly in your right arm, so you can literally pull against the fretboard with your left hand! See my most recent tutorial on Today and tomorrow (on RUclips.com/ukestuff) and you can see what I am talking about.

I went to a lot of school and a person with a PhD in music *better* be able to figure out chords that work with a song! 🙂

I think the strumming pattern is _dxd udu_ but if I'm wrong please tell me :).

You're probably ready for other challenges, such as chord melody or full fingerstyle songs (full tablature). That is where I would point you if you were my student!

Check the tutorial (linked in the description). There’s a point where there really isn’t any discernible pattern to strum.

Slow it down to 0.75 or 0.5 and its easy

I have a tutorial (chords and strumming) for this one linked in the description; however, once you get to the middle of this, it's sort of other-worldly (by design, I think), and there's not much to say about strumming there.
