She was such a beautiful soul. I was sad at first she wasn't being interred in a cathedral like a proper Queen mother but now I feel they made the best decision in giving her the privacy she so longed for.

To my utter delight , while on a holiday to visit cousins,
On a beautiful Sunday Morning, my cousin surprised me by a visit to Althorp home an estate
It was early morning an To my surprise Charles Spencer was in the bookshop :
He spoke to us and signed my book . I felt so humble to meet this Gentleman
And also to walk to the Island where Diana Princess of Wales , is now at R.I.P. 🙏🌹

I found out about Diana about a year ago but in the last 2 weeks I’ve gained this big obsession with her, and can’t stop learning about her. Im only 14 but I hope one day I can come to see the island and her childhood home. Thanks for the video!

The world was very different when she was alive. We lost a global presence and her contribution was love. *someone has to go out there and love the people and show it* -Lady Diana Spencer. She was irreplaceable because there’s no body out there anywhere saying the same things and doing the things she was. She was a fighter for justice and balance. She was going to do great things. She was very aware of the global power structure and the danger, and she was not allowed to do those great things.
The United States just simply loved her. All the charity organizations she brought to light etc. What an amazing woman that she accomplished all that in 36 yrs. ❤️💚🧡
If your'e ever in England ..make the effort... I did a few years ago.. The Diana Exhibit was in the Stables it was an amazing Story of her Life. But I think the Earl closed it. She was a one of a kind person.
I am 59 and became obsessed a few months ago.She was truly a beautiful person inside and out,and what all she gave up for Charles to have treated her the way he did was a shame.
Thanks for showing, as I will never be there myself. As an old(er) man I'm still in shock about the tragic death of Diana.

Princess Di gave their royalty definition and a global brand. I am appalled how ungrateful and how careless to have missed that one in a century opportunity.
I got really emotionally very suddenly when seeing those trees. I found it a profoundly beautiful tribute followed by realizing just how few trees there really are. That’s...heartbreaking. When each other represents one year of her life...there aren’t nearly enough trees.

I was there when Diana died. I met Earl Spencer, nice fellow. And the media practically attacked me when I left out through the brick wall. There wasnt any gift store then, nothing commercial at all. In fact Diana wasnt buried yet, I dont think. I still have flowers from her funeral at The Abbey. Was so very sad....

Thanks for giving me a glimpse of HRH Princess Diana of Wales' home. It gave me an idea of her family lineage/origin. Prince Charles could have given her the love she deserved had he not been unfaithful. I am a Filipina a die hard fan of her two sons, William and Harry whom i pray will continue her legacy towards those in need of compassion. I remember that day. I was shocked. I could not believe it. I felt so strongly for William and Harry. But I still feel it was kinda lonely for such a social person to be buried all alone on a little island. Thank you for sharing. You did a lovely job.

was there when the Stables were an Entire Museum to Diana including many of her dresses as well as the iconic Wedding Dress on display. The House is beautiful inside

I saw her gowns when they were on tour in the USA probably 15 years ago? In Atlanta, GA. The Spencer Tiara and her mother's diamond earrings (she wore on her wedding day) were also on display. I know a couple of years ago Sarah's daughter got married (so Diana and Earl Spencer's niece) and she wore the tiara. It was nice to see it in photos again. Earl Spencer should do a wall of photos of all the brides wearing that tiara. I have not been to Althorp but I have been to England. We toured Kensington back in 1999 and I was very disappointed they did not show us her apartment. I know Prince William uses that as his offices now but I do think KP missed a big money maker not opening up her apartment to the public to tour. They should have done that for at least a few years after her death. We also toured Westminster Abbey where her funeral was in 2007 so before William was married there. I would love to go to Althorp and lol Highclere castle both since I'm a big DA fan! We were supposed to go next summer but if this pandemic don't ease I doubt we will. Oh and in 2013 on the Queen Mary in Los Angeles I went to a "Diana exhibit" which turned out to be the British Royal family more than her although they did have a few of her gowns (lol they also had Fergie's wedding gown and a night gown of Wallis Simpson among the displays plus a few things of Queen Elizabeth, Princes Margaret, Prince Philip, the queen mother etc.) but that is what they called it. Lol they knew Americans were more interested in her than the British Royal family or even Wallis Simpson for that matter.
I cant believe Earl Spencer has let the Diana Museum go - does it tour & return at some point?
The Diana museum was a dedicated space in the stable block - it was fabulous - cannot understand the thinking about that?
@@kathleenmcelroy9221 Yes the Exhibit was very well done, creative... the room with the scent of flowers and The Thousands of stack of Condolence Books from around the Globe put her Life into perspective. Not sure why he closed it.

About a year ago I found out that Princess Diana and I are 10th cousins. I've been to. England, back in 1980, and I felt so at home. I'm a third generation Californian.
I'm from Northampton. I've never been here . But when I came back to Denver. When I checked I. For my flight . They bumped me to to business class . On the Wednesday after Diana passed. All those years ago .

no not every family , most families but not all , the spencer line is my line but i am much more royal descent because i also have Bourbon , Bonaparte , Danish royal , Habsberg, Tudor , Stuart , German royal , Russia, Hungarian , Romanian , Italian , Spanish , Belgium , Dutch , Portugal , Greek, Manx, i can not think , there are so many , i posted some on facebook but it was such a boring thing to upload the i gave up , here is my proof facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10220003604953740&type=3, it makes me no better than others and has changed me not one jot , though it is a bit of an eye opener to read you descend from Julius Caesar , if its true the Habsbergs descend from him which looks likely looking at my dna , but i am also direct line descent from Louis 14th , i got his hair not his nose though , small mercies

oh and queen Victoria was a distant cousin
yeah stunning , imagine the house work and up keep , sadly my sweet cousin has saved Althorp from being a wreck but what a price they paid for it , i did not know she was my cousin till just over a year ago , i was adopted

Still crying for Diana
Lovely video & I relived a visit at the time of Diana’s death with my late wife, who was a keen follower of her. In fact we were in London during her mourning period. The flowers at that time were absolutely amazing. Thank you sharing your visit. 👍👍😎

The exhibition stopped once William and Harry both were 30 as they cane into ownership of all of Diana's gowns. Before that Earl Spencer had temporary ownership.

Just an FYI, Charles Spencer doesn't actually live in the big house at Althorp. He lives in a smaller cottage type house with all the modern things like air conditioning. Where he lives has a rock wall around it for privacy.

I follow their new vlogs all about Althorp. My genealogy is pretty much all England, Scotland, Wales, and a small bit of North France. I’m related to HM Queen Elizabeth II 10th cousin Bowes-Lyon side, and Diana and Earl Spencer and siblings 9th cousins Spencer side. All on my mother’s maternal side. Diana's real childhood home was Park House which stands in disrepair. Her father inherited Althorp when she was 14. She spent holidays there from 14-17 when home from boarding school but Althorp is marketed as her childhood home. Was just there last month and got the straight story.

Congratulations on a lovely video. I remember everything in the life of Princess Diana, a Princess: not because she married (that man) and was given the title, but because she was and will always be what a Real Princess should be I still get sad when a video of hers comes up on RUclips. Althorp House and her heavenly resting place are on my "bucket list". I visited England in 85 so I doubt I will ever go again. Glad the Earl signed your book he is kind.
