Burlington Center Mall Demolition update 5/19/2021

The Burlington Center Mall New Jersey nearing the end of demolition phase after closing it's doors in January 2018. Redevelopment will consist of retail spaces and distribution centers.

Lots of good memories of lunches with my grandparents at the Friendlys in the 80s, getting my first pair of Nike airs in 86 at the sneaker store next to the elephant statue, to buying all my dress outfits for my freshman year of college in 95, up to when I was the third person in line at 4am at Sears for the release of the Sony PS2. I got only one of 4 they had that day, so many people drove up only to be turned away while we were waiting. I'll miss that place.

Looks like you had a lot of good memories of that mall. You will always have those which is cool.

WOW !!!!!! I'm going to drive by there and check it out tomorrow. I wonder if anything will be left. That is going to be crazy once the Mall is completely gone. I was born in February of 81. They Started Construction of The Mall in March of 81. This will be the first time in my lifetime not seeing the Mall on that property.

I heard there will be a redevelopment project consisting of retail spaces and distribution centers. That all the info I have on it so far.

Thank you for coming back to record the mall! At 1:33, I can still see the fountain that was covered in front of the Sears. (The dark square inside the mall). It would be interesting if someone in the demolition crew noticed it while removing the wooden coverings.

I was so Happy to see that fountain again, even if just one last time before the demo of the Mall is complete which I imagine they will knock down the last section this week. I never understood why they covered that fountain, or why they removed the big one at center court with the escalators.
