Yippee, another long story read by my favorite Arthur Lane, his voice calms me and guarantees me a wonderful night's sleep. Thank you and please keep them coming.
Thank you for this. I put off reading this for my class over winter break and had to finish it within 2 days. This was a life saver as I couldn’t focus enough to read the physical book for that long period of time
WHERE ARE YOU, CATHY?!! I WISH TO HAVE YOU IN MY EMBRACE AGAIN I have felt your presence all along. i knew for certain that you have been haunting me. You lie not beneath the cold earth, you are beside me are you not? I have not broken your heart--you have broken it, and in breaking it,you have broken mine...!
You guys output and quality is really impressive. Do you take any suggestion? I think Mervyan Peakes "Boy in Darkness" is a underrated horror classic that really deserves an audio book. I'd donate for a recording of that.
Thank you for the wonderful reading and your beautiful British accent. I spent three days listening to this audiobook-a true masterpiece, once in a lifetime. The language is so beautiful, with a vast and rich vocabulary.😇😇😇😇😇😘😘😘😘
I love this book. Some ppl might not appreciate it but I love the desolate setting and extremely flawed characters combined with this intensity of emotion. Catherine loved Heathcliffe so much that her adoration for him drove her to the brink of insanity and death. She loved him so much, she dreamed she was thrown out of heaven and still cried with relief so she could be reunited with Heathcliffe. Heathcliffe was an unbearable bastard who has love for nothing and nobody but Catherine, and in his last days he’s clearly reveling in Catherine’s vicious haunting, as we are told he stayed for days switching between wandering the moors and staying in her old room where the narrator first saw Catherine’s ghost. I love it, wow. Poor Hareton is probably my favorite character. “Devil Daddy” had me feeling so bad for him 😢
I could not understand why Catherine Linton put up with Linton Heathcliff's behaviour for so long. She even admitted to Ellen that her visits to him much of the time made her so miserable. Did she "love" him out of pity?
It's cause Heathcliff as Cathy says resembles her,but all he had in his mind after he returned was revenge. They could have been a great couple if Hindley wasn't such a tyrant.Atleast thats what I thought.
@@bellatrix4097 hi I was really commenting about the 2nd Catherine who was the daughter of 1st Catherine and Edgar Linton, and the sickly Linton Heathcliff who was the son of Heathcliff and Isabella. It was Catherine Heathcliff née Linton who I could not understand why she let Linton manipulate her and fall into his father's trap. However you are absolutely right about Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff. Hindley's cruelty was what made Heathcliff become cruel himself and take revenge on Hindley and the 2nd generation. He overheard Cathy tell Ellen that if Hindley had not brought Heathcliff so low, she would not have thought of marrying Edgar, but it would degrade her to marry Heathcliff now. That was why he ran away and returned to take his revenge. My original comment was about 2nd Catherine Linton and Heathcliff's son Linton.
@@Peaceharmony-x3r i guess some part of it might be the loneliness out there.. she really didn't have anyone to interact with except for Ellen and her father, who at that point needed lots of rest So I guess Linton was the one other soul she could attach herself to, even if he wasn't a good friend to her - what did she have to compare him to?
@@pagandakali260 you are right. Catherine had no one else of her own age. She got excited about meeting Linton when her father went to fetch him from London when Isabella died.

Im dropping the story. Way too little happens, the main character is a straight up a-hole with no redeeming qualities whatsoever. It’s like im listening to a redditor who thinks he is just better than everyone in the room. An hour in and still no romance. How is this a classic again?
