Why would anyone who drafted Brooks trade him when the injury was already known? Seems like pretty meaningless advice, doesn’t feel like any real opportunity or misvaluation. Also waiting 3 weeks into the season would only make someone less likely trade. No one wants to roster a guy while he is hurt, eat all that recovery time, and then trade them once they are close to playing again.
I made a giant Jonathan Brooks related trade now and then saw this video. Gave Chase, Rachaad, Kendre. Got Nabers, Brooks, Corley, late 25 1, late 25 2
The Burton fade has been super strong here. So strong that y'all have to shoe-horn him into the show just to throw some dirt on him. (Only half serious) Just seems like we're really looking for a reason to fade him. Because he played late in a preseason game? Because a veteran earned an extended look in front of him? Because no one came to his birthday party? His value hasn't moved since the draft. I don't think that anyone is getting overblown with him. I guess if you were off him all along, it's easy to feel vindicated, but it's extremely short-sighted and premature. If we really think that Trenton Irwin and Charlie Jones are going to run ahead of him for long, then we should be lambasting the Bengals for setting a third on fire.
