Jay Durias, he was the lead vocal of SB, jay is a big/huge dude but a gentle giant I’d say. Jay also composed/wrote this song. Shout out to my man Jay ❤. Extremely talented guy, well respected in the music industry in Php. And yeah you gotta react to SB’s original performance of this song. Btw, of course as you can assume already , this song is one of the big big hits back in the flip land (Php)

This version is so beautiful by adding in multiple vocal layers BUT the original is also really good, performed by South Border. It is a soundtrack to a film called “The Crying Ladies” in the early 00s and was a success in the radio.

Michael Pangilinan's original song Bakit Ba Ikaw is one of the top (if not the number 1) song in the Wish Bus with the most views. Him and Morissette are the King and Queen of Wish Bus 😊. South Border is a well-loved band here in the Philippines. Even if they dont have any new material in the current decade their songs are still played consistently. Jake Durias is a prolific songwriter/music arranger. He has several hits under his name. The guys here with Michael are friends of his. They do livestreams singing requests from fans (with the guy in guitars and Ryssi-the girl). Khel (Michael's nickname) is part of the trio BuDaKhel composed of Bugoy Drilon, Daryl Ong and himself. They are all solo artists who love to sing together and do covers regularly. They always feature female artists too, particularly Katrina Velarde. Also collaborated with Morissette. That guitarist is very skilled. He loves More Than Words by Extremes as well. They have an impromptu cover of it (Budakhel and the guitar guy).

yeah, this is a cover. this song is originally composed and sang South Border back in the 90s. South Border' songs are mostly R&B that most of it became classic and/or official sound tracks for tv drama series. they had changed main vocals for the last 20 years, i believe, but they try to have the voice as close to the original main vocalist as much as possible.

The song Rainbow was an original song from the band South Border from the Philippines. The girl's name is Rhysii. I guess she joined Pinoy Got Talent. I'm not sure if it was PGT though. South Border Band is one of the best and phenomenal Bands in the Philippines, Most songs they played were their original compositions. The best of their original song is LOVE OF MY LIFE.

Jay Durias of South Border is, in fact, one of the co-producers of SB19's song "MAPA," alongside Pablo and Simon Servida. I had the chance to witness them, SB19 and Sir Jay Durias, perform it during SB19’s WYAT Homecoming Concert last December, which was a significant check off my bucket list as an OPM supporter 🤗. Michael Pangilinan also has his own song, "Bakit Ba Ikaw," which SB19 covered a few years ago. Both versions were exceptional!

It probably sounds familiar, because it reminds me of The Tony Rich Project's song, "Nobody Knows". At least that's what it reminds me of. I love this version, but also like the original by South Border too. It has that '90s R&B bass line to it.

I can kind of hear it, but I think because I know that song so well my mind cant make that comparison and yessss the original is so goood, I had heard it before and when I relistened to it, I couldn’t remember when I first heard it. Great song though.

The Philippines has the best singing talent on the planet. Just a simple fact. The 3 Queens of the Ph are truly something else. Morrissette Amon, Katrina Valarde, and Gigi de Lana are really at the top of the game this generation. The Avengers of the Ph, which includes Michael Pangilinan here is also very impressive. Some time, they get Katrina to join as well. Give these 6 people some love and your channel will be fine.

This Song "Rainbow" is originally composed and sand by the group "South Border" and you're right it a 90s hit song in the Philippines along with a number of songs this band produced. South Border was named as such since the band members all are from the South Cities of the Philippines.
