I was in the US Army Special Forces when I visited your country several times. First a positive... you and your countrymen are (in general) some of the best people I met in my travels to 36 countries. Especially in the provinces. Negatives...1. Trash, 2. Constant roosters calling, 3. Law that prevents us from buying land as a foreigner. I now hate that USA allows it because so many countries discriminate and do not allow us to do it. You do well and are a good example of what is good about the PI.
Don't forget your rural beginnings Chrissy. That's a big part of the problems in our modern world. People forget about the basics of life. If the world society breaks down, your parents will know exactly how to survive. That is a wisdom not to be underestimated.
Hi Chrissy - I'm American and I now live in Newtown, Mactan, Lapu Lapu. I love living in the Philippines, but for the negatives I've noticed: trash on the streets and in nature, burning of trash, and the lack of good drainage when it rains. Thank you for your videos! You and your cousin are doing a great job.
I agree. Also trash in the ocean. To add - Not sure if Newtown is quite the same (as Maribago beach where we stayed) but being woken by Roosters crowing are not great while on holiday.
i have never traveled to Phils. yet, but from the videos i have seen, i agree with you guys. Too much trash being disposed in the wrong areas. Maybe a better recycling program is need too
Trash, litter, sueage, clean water, barking dogs all night, No matter where you live on this Earth there's good and there's bad. The Philippines has a lot of good things to offer. People are very friendly. Thanks for your Time invested in your channe
Your English is near perfect and the mistakes you make are so very cute when on your own vlog. It seems as though you are intimidated when talking on Tim’s vlog. Keep it up!!
Hi I love your videos so much keep up the good work and I love the Philippines I am back at home now I am going back in 3 months to pH just like all around the world you got your good as your bad just like here in America but I cannot said that back by the Philippines everybody is fairly there

Just live with it. Part of philippines experience. I hope Tim's back is recovering. Takes time. I hurt my back before. Lovely family you have. God bless.
Very nice colours! This gives so much more light to the house, you have a good painter working there! Haven`t find much negative things in Philippines since visiting and having our " 2th home there". Things go there different way and as a visitor...no need to complain the habits of the country but enjoy and accept!... or you have the right to turn 180 degrees and forward your searching..I won`t bother for that, no way!
@Kerry Smith it's not Tim's house 🏠 but him and his wife put all the financing into it, including large donations from some of their subscribers...you make your statement sounds so terrible....haixt
@Kerry Smith about 7 months ago, Tim and Chrissy invited the parents for dinner 🥘 at a restaurant, and that’s where they gave about $2,500 USD 💴 to her parents, sent by an American 🇺🇸 guy who helped them. Married to a Filipina doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to take care of her entire family…although that’s kinda common, but we don’t have that problem, thank goodness 😅 I wouldn’t put up with such nonsense. Stay well.
@@isreeramotar3868 I think your talking about Bald r Norwegian guy yes he gave chrissy father 8000 peso and Tim started doing his blogging with bald r suggesting the idea,I am pleased for them they are doing so well now.
First time to the Philippines was an eye opener, sometimes buying things I was told to hide or they will charge more, seeing a flat bed truck driving down the road with 10 guys on the back holding on for life, was interesting. To be honest i had no expectations and I was so amazed by such difference from the Beep Beep noise, the cocks crowing all day. I loved the Place, the country and the People all were so friendly, even they kept calling me Joe (Im Australian) lol.
I found it interesting and very brave to see half a dozen (sometimes more) Filipino men hanging off the back of Jeepnes in rush hour in Manila. Apparently that’s normal? 😮

I really do enjoy your style of video. Your husband Tim is great guy and I think you make excellent couple. Your showing both the positive and negative things around you in a very pleasant way. Its really good.
I've been to the Philippines 3 time 2017-18-19 then could not come because of covid 😢 I have a GF who lives in Mabalacat Pampanga. She will be coming here soon. What I've notices is trash is everywhere but when I was in Palawan it was much cleaner then I've seen in the other places I've been and when I pay I need to pay more then if my GF pays so it give me an impression that as a withe guy I'm charged more because of my colour. Also driving through the Manila bay slum was such an eyeopener to see with my own eyes how people live in poverty, people living in poverty is not negative for the Filipino people but for the government that tries to hide it instead of fixing the problem. the parents house is looking really nice.
Hi Chrissy. I have never been to the Phillipines but I have spent time in other countries in the region. My concern with the Phillipines is my personal safety. I need to feel comfortable in a place to enjoy it. I intend to come when evrything opens up to do a test run and see how it goes. Hopefully it goes OK because I am looking for a place to stay for long term.
I will advise you to not visit any big city but visit n stay in the province area as I have n built a house there on Camotes Island. I give money to my gf Liza to buy land from her father n they designed a house n it's now complete in December 2017 n now expanded to include a Beauty Store in front of our house. City life is too chaotic with too many people in Mandaue City in Cebu and traffic congestion too. Nothing like that here on Camotes Island except the Brownout of the electricity
I'm from NYC, been to Visayas+Luzon multiple times..the most striking thing I noticed is how many filipinos prioritize small short term gains at the expense of an obviously large long term loss. Another thing is in the west during conversation, people respect you when you share your opinion and then friendly debate or banter ensues and you get to know them better...but in Philippines when someone disagrees with you rather than banter with you, they simply shut up and I never understood why??? I've been told it's a respect thing, but it seems counter intuitive.
Hello I am a new subscriber . I saw a few of Tim k videos but this is the first time I saw Chrissy . I love province life . I grew up in a place like your prince but a lot colder here . I raised animals , planted gardens and hunted and fished a lot . It is time for me to retire and move to Phill . I have been to the Philippines 2 times before . You did a great job on your video Chrissy .
Hi crizzy bisaya ko from Bohol .. I had one negative comment based on my experience in one of the city in philippines (N0T ALL) but some of the drivers are lack of discipline esp pedestrian lane they don't know how to stop they don't let people pass first .. it so really disappointing ..actually your house in very nice ...keep on vlogging God bless ..watching here in Dubai..
My main negative thing was....I'm used to here in New Zealand having the traffic flow here at a good pace but the trikes there when I was driving a hire car they drive really slow was hard to get used to. Another thing was some gas station's go to use the CR and to toilet paper just a pot and some water. I liked the closeness of the villages and friendly people many are very shy at first though.
Hey Chrissy my dear friend, Great video. It's amazing to see that your parents house is almost finished. The piglets are so cute.😊 Keep making your awesome videos my dear friend. I never heard about negative assumptions. I only experienced a few things which cannot be classed as being negative, just plainly different. So, I was visiting the Philippines end of 2018 and what I noticed, in general, that in most stores if you buy something, everything went to so terrible slow. So I only wanted to buy a USB key. Now here in the Netherlands, you take a package, you go to cashier, use your atm card, hold in front of the scanner, poing, paid. Whole transaction, 20seconds at best? In the Philippines, I was guided by 4 employees at the 'rack' with USB keys and when finally at the cashier the cashier typed in a whole 'bible' as it were, as if she had to make up the entire invoice. And then the product was packed, which to my opinion was not necessary (it already was in a plastic holder). The whole thing lasted at least 10 minutes. So, this is not something from the 'media' but just my own experience, is that Filipino's do take time for things. Please debunk me if this is not true in general. :-)
Good afternoon Crissy K. I come to the Philippines once or twice a year n most negative issue is the Brownout on my Island of Camotes Island. When it rains, it's not a problem here bc the rain just runs down the road n evaporate quickly. At least the rain there is warm n not cold like Melbourne Australia. I love the weather there on Camotes Island and it's like an Australian summer day but Liza n her sisters hate the heat there hehe
Well I would say the most negative thing about the Philippines is the mosquitoes. Which you already talked about in your video. Anything else negative is mostly because of my western way of doing things. Can’t blame the Philippines for the way I do things in the west. As always God bless you and your family and of course God bless the Philippines
The house looks really good. The craftmanship is really well done. for only two people doing the final finishing work on paint and cosmetics, the time invested is not that bad. The Painter is really good when he can cut the paint into place with a brush like that. I would have paint all over if it were me. :) Now your mom and dad have piglets for future celebrations.. :) If they are finished in one week, I would be amazed. I can not wait to see the house completely finished. laundry room and all. :) I would also like to see what is done to help stop the roof leak in the kitchen? if you can do a vlog on what is done to stop that as well we would appreciate it.
Hi Chrissy, i have one concern about the house being built where it is, after seeing the landslides in Dustin Backpacks video, my worry are for your parents safety. What project do you have in mind to prevent the slope at the back of the house to landslide on top of the house?
Great video Chrissy, two negative things that comes to mind is the lack of public restrooms (CR's) and the traffic in Manila ( 1 hour taxi ride to travel about 3.5 kilometers )
I know where I am living it's much easier life if I'm the Philippines but still I see you doing great with your family so just be patient Remember You Are Young you have a lot to learn in your life if and I love you apartment of you you father and mum's house specially the movies a big thank you here from Denmark
I been to Leyte and Samar the Smoke from burning trash and and things is awful, no water no water at all sometimes, electricity brown outs sucks, everything takes forever to get done so many steps and running around
Basura, it's always been an issue but even more so now. We need to keep it out of the oceans first then with education hopefully we can help keep the Philippines clean and beautiful. I retired here in 2006 even back then it was a major issue everywhere i did a bicycle tour, but recently is has become a nightmare of a mess. Love your videos always brings a smile to many of us,,,salamat ug Ingatz
Great vlog Chrissy! My wife is a Filipina and I have been to the Philippines twice, both times to Manila and to her province of Palawan. I love the Philippines and the people; it's very beautiful. For the negative aspects, in Manila the traffic is horrible as a result of too many cars, too many people and poor road design, planning, and construction. Also high pollution. The other thing holding your country back is bad government with corruption. President Rodrigo Duterte murders drug dealers and drug users in his attempt to reduce the drug problems. These are simply crimes against your people. Oftentimes people are held in prison for years while awaiting trials; this is horrible for their families and children left behind. IMO if your government were stronger and less corrupt then your country would accelerate in their development efforts. In the next election we hope that a more ethical president will be elected. God bless you, Tim, and your family!
Hi Chrissy. I'm proud of you doing a good job as a presenter of your videos. You have become so much better at it and you should be proud of it. Philippines will have a big job improving draining after raining since streets fills up completely by water. Also there is a big downside with such a great bureaucracy as well wich they can simplify alot. Otherwise there are so many positive things i love about Philippines so it's not a problem living with the problems Philippines have. Take care and keep up your good work.
Well you asked for it Crissy : Pollution, underpayment of workers, traffic jams, overload of sugary and processed food shops, lack of good bread-shops.
Hehehe...one of my pet hates is when a Pinay asks you something, and I respond, and she says "Ah ok" but secretly hasn't a clue what I'm talking about!!! Does that sound familiar Chrissy? LOL
Great video, and you, Chrissy, are so funny. One thing, a leaking roof is never a good thing. Please stop painting and fix that leak before it gets worse.
I am pinoy and what I hate in the Philippines is that it will take you 6 months to get a driver's license after submitting 9405 documents and waiting for 8 hours in the queue
what I see in you and Tim you make progress in your life you make a great family I look all your movies if I have time I'm I love what you do do and I love you videos and a big thank you here from Denmark

Actually crown molding is at the top. My wife tells me the one next to the floor is a baseboard.

I can not wait to see the house completely finished. laundry room and all. :) I would also like to see what is done to help stop the roof leak in the kitchen? if you can do a vlog on what is done to stop that as well we would appreciate it.
Ing chrissy you looking different and beautiful everyday so much more mature. God bless ur family
Hi Chrissy, i have one concern about the house being built where it is, after seeing the landslides in Dustin Backpacks video, my worry are for your parents safety. What project do you have in mind to prevent the slope at the back of the house to landslide on top of the house?
The word for that molding around the ceiling and the walls is called crown. Crown molding it requires a good compound miter saw
Great video Chrissy, two negative things that comes to mind is the lack of public restrooms (CR's) and the traffic in Manila ( 1 hour taxi ride to travel about 3.5 kilometers )
Chrissy, You are soooo sweet & kindhearted and adorable.
Oh thank you!
I agree.
I know where I am living it's much easier life if I'm the Philippines but still I see you doing great with your family so just be patient Remember You Are Young you have a lot to learn in your life if and I love you apartment of you you father and mum's house specially the movies a big thank you here from Denmark
Everyone has done a good job 🍒🍒🍒♥️♥️
The house is beautiful. You all must be so proud.
Thank You!
I been to Leyte and Samar the Smoke from burning trash and and things is awful, no water no water at all sometimes, electricity brown outs sucks, everything takes forever to get done so many steps and running around
Looking great!!💕
Thank you! Cheers!
Crime? We should be hanging our own drug dealers here in the USA.
Right now my biggest problem with Philippines is i cant travel there yet. Omg i want to go there so much again.
Yes, We will try to fix it before painting. Thanks!
I am pinoy and what I hate in the Philippines is that it will take you 6 months to get a driver's license after submitting 9405 documents and waiting for 8 hours in the queue
6 months is the time you practice your driving, they will give you first a student license....
what I see in you and Tim you make progress in your life you make a great family I look all your movies if I have time I'm I love what you do do and I love you videos and a big thank you here from Denmark
