I did watch one work once...trucks couldn't haul it off fast enough. I didn't know they were manufacturing in Beckley.
So what happens to the "pillars" between the cuts? And do the cuts get back filled when the mine is reclaimed or do they stay voids?

They get backfilled a little bit then what's left is a void
