I watched so many videos about this knitting mill and yours was by far the most helpful! I was finally able to make the icords I was struggling with. Thank you!!
Agree with other comments best video on this i cord maker I've seen. I will be buying one today. The Addi egg failed on me quickly using light yarn so hopefully this will be better. Thank you
Todavía no he lubricado el mío. ________ There is grease inside, added by the manufacturer. There is nothing written in the instructions, so I assume you need to open it and check it from time to time, especially, if it is in constant use. If it gets noisy, or if it is hard to turn the handle, you need to lubricate it. I have read that many people use white lithium grease, but I can't recommend an oil to use. I haven't lubricated mine still.
Oh, this is frustrating. Did you try using a thinner yarn? Also, you might check the yarn tension. If the yarn is not freely coming from the skein, the stitches may get too tight and won't get over the needles.
@@ArtOfClayYep, tried thinner, thicker, more/less stretch... pulling loads off the skein (as yes that tension definitely didn't help). Gave up, dismantled it and turned the hooks into a hand held tool (I now have a three hook one and a four hook one) which works muuuuuuuch more reliably and still produces icord very quickly!.
Thank you for the feedback! That sounds like quite the journey! I'm sorry to hear that you haven't been able to make it work. Turning the hooks into a hand-held tool is such a creative solution. I recently saw a tool like this and am also interested in making and trying one.
@@ArtOfClay Hehe, I never like to let something go to waste! So far I have (for me at least) discovered - the latch hook shaft does need some length to it so it flexes as you pull the loops over, set them into the handle too deep and they won't, not an issue with yarn with some stretch to it, but it makes life harder with non-stretchy cottons etc. I am finding latch hooks all the same height is better for me than staggered heights. Another advantage of this is you can go right to left or left to right - staggered hooks mean you can only go shortest to tallest, whichever way they're set up. Bigger handle is easer to hang onto than a slim one. I've done 4 and 3. 4 has to be cast on slightly different but its not hard, I set my 4 hooks same height across, but on a slight curve (each facing out from a centre point rather than all facing same way), which seemed to make sense to me but YMMV! My next challenge is to find chunkier hooks for bigger yarn, the snag there will be they are longer with the 'nubbin' on the shaft a long way down which may make for an unwieldy tool (or chop them off but risk the hooks coming loose!)
@@emmajudson5945 You're really diving deep into latch hooking! Thank you for sharing your research and experience gained from making and using these hooks. I learned a lot of valuable tips from you. Your insight about having all hooks at the same height makes a lot of sense. I have seen bigger latch hooks for making rugs, that can do the job with the thicker yarn. I still haven't tried to make such a tool yet, but I'm sure I will use your excellent tips.
Hmm... Check if all latches are open and working. Also, make sure you are rotating the handle in the same direction all the time. When exactly the problem occurs? I want to help you, but I am not sure how.
Well done. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Your a very good teacher. Many thanks.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad to hear that the instructions were clear and easy to follow. 😊
What a cute dog. You are getting a collection of icord knitters. I like this one.
The mill is very useful because all the waste yarn can be turned into a cord and used for something.

This is the best Prym knitting machine video to date. Thank you for doing this one. I'm waiting on my Prym knitting Machine to come in the mail now.
Thank you for your comment! I hope you receive your order soon! It's a very cool machine.

Thank you! I haven't used the Addi egg. I hope you will be satisfied with that one. I haven't had problems with mine so far.
Thank you. Very informative 😊
I'm glad you found it helpful!😀
omg. Finally a video I can understand. Thank you so much!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback - it means a lot to me. 😊
Very well done and helpful video, thank you!

Buen día. La maquina requiere de alguna lubricacion para su mantenimiento?

Bună, sunt din România, nu reușesc să găsesc firul potrivit pentru această mașină.
Îmi spui te rog,ce fir folosești?
Mulțumesc

Struggling with mine, the latches don't always do what they should and so the yarn isn't coming back over the hook. Super infuriating!

May I know the thickness of the red and white yarn please
Hello,
The yarn and the thickness of the two bobbins are the same - 100% acrylic yarn 2/28Nm.
I didn’t make it right I tried a lot of yarn and I still no how and what my mistakes
If you are following all the steps, maybe the yarn is not suitable. Try to use a different yarn. 🤔
@@ArtOfClay I used a lot
