I never buy that rag! However the NHS needs to have a good look at itself. Here in Glasgow they have a "no redundancies" policy which meant that when in 2009 they 'reduced' 52 Band 8 managers to 38 Band 8 managers, those 'without' a job were given "project work" until the "dead man's shoes" methodology came into effect. That meant departmentally the savings were evident but overall there were none. When you also consider the "Dilbert principle" where ineffective managers are "promoted" to avoid further cock-ups you realise where some of there problems come from. I personally was discriminated against and dismissed for not being able to work due to a management "failure to provide reasonable adjustments". I was told "with an obvious disability" that I failed to remind my managers that I was disabled. What was I to do, dress as a Morris dancer so they could hear me coming? Very angry that this came after almost 20 years service. If you think I am lying, I have proof and no NDA!

The Tories operate on user pays, they prefer the US health system, which is good if you can afford to pay the exorbitant prices it charges. If you can't, or don't have enough insurance, then good luck! The NHS was amongst the best in the world, and in England especially, user pays is becoming the norm. Don't let it happen.

As I type a huge part of the NHS is run for profit.
Bring nursing homes into public ownership and employ staff directly the bill for the NHS will drop big time.
DO NOT DO what the government did during the Covid crises, guve friends of friends of the CON party the ability to source equipment.
They will buy it then load 50 or 60% profit on to it.
NHS has the expertise to run the show if not micro managed.

Midwives are leaving in droves because it’s so stressful, that increases the stress and the workloads on those who are left, so they end up leaving too. Hence the abysmal ratio of midwife to patients and it will get worse.
