  • “Diagnosis of Food Allergies,” a 40-minute video produced by FARE, offers in-depth presentations on how to recognize different types of adverse reactions to food and seek a medical diagnosis. The presentation first introduces adverse food reactions, including IgE-mediated food allergies that can cause life-threatening symptoms, several types of non-IgE-mediated food allergies, and food intolerances. This is followed by a description of diagnostic methods that are in use today as well as new diagnostic approaches that are under investigation.

So... once IGE-mediated MAST cells are piggybacked by IGE, they are then "specialized" to recognise the allergen, yes?
Do newly produced MAST cells then come pre-primed to that IGE mediation? Or do new MAST cells need to re-learn? If someone avoids an allergen very carefully on the long-term, can they later avoid a reaction because newly produced MAST cells are not "privy" to the allergen?

And, by extension, can MAST cells be taught to ignore the allergen?
