Lynn Thompson is one of my favorite guests to have been on Blade Banter. He's a cool guy and is an extreme badass. Anyone that doesn't know how badass he is, just take a gander at the years of videos on Cold Steel's RUclips channel.
I'm old enough that I remember getting their promotional VHS tapes! I used to sit and watch those all the time! Just Lynn and his crew cutting, chopping and stabbing shit!
I love listening to Lynn talk about his products. I just bought my first 2 Cold Steel knives and I'm a customer for life now. I also love there T-shirt designs
High Desert Gear Review by Lee Get yourself the Black Hat with the Blue Kanji Lettering and it says "Cold Steel Knives" in small lettering on the back. I have two of them, couldn't resist. I have a lot of Cold Steel Knives, there always seems to be that next one. Right now for me it's that Wasp model. All the best.

Lynn- " this knife is designed to cause maximum leathal damage to living things, and kill as efficiently as possible" Zach- (silence.... hands him next knife)
The second knife reminds me of my schrade needle. Which reminds me of a Fairbarn Sykes dagger. Which is why I bought it. Super cool design. Love it. Hope to see some serrations on the next cold steel versions of that dagger. People seem to forget that in the heat of combat, an attacker might not even notice he's been stabbed until the adrenaline dies off. A few serrations will add a bite to your dagger that can really let someone know they've been stabbed and force them to back off.

I'm loving Coldsteel's drop-forge series, but I wish they would bring back the Original Full flat grind Leatherneck SF. It was my first fixed blade & is still going strong 8 years later after much use.
Can we leave Lynn Thompson alone? He loves knives. Like him or not, he's been the Billy Mays of big knives for a long time, and I guarantee if you met him, he'd love, LOVE to talk knives with you.
My favourite knife is the Cold Steel Espada large. If you wear a fixed blade its visible and some people think bad of you because you wear it but the espada large folding knife actually fits perfectly in my pocket and comes out in 1 second with a long blade and the reach of a smaller fixed blade (around 5.5 inch blade). If it would be bigger it wouldnt fit in the pocket. Especially I like the steel, lock and shape of the knive. It has a shape like a spanish navaja bandolera but it has a better lock is lighter and runs better steel like these historic first folders.

I've always wanted the oss/osi and if I had the money a black bear classic but the fully serrated fixed blade pattern really makes sense on the kobun in my eyes, I've had 3 of them in the past and always end up gifting them because they're just such great knives for the price, but the serrated will be a keeper. I would really like to see an updated Steel on the kobun, I know there's plenty of other Tanto offerings from CS in premium steels but I think the kobun could use a little love. maybe 3v, maybe 01, D2? Hi guys, can you do an episode about types of handle matirals regarding ( comfort, aging , toughness, durability..etc).. thank you for being part of my day

A wider pummel for instance is a simple yet great improvement that will be very appreciated for ppl felling trees/survival purposes.
It’s a great knife. I beat the hell out of mine. I gave it to a young Marine before he left for the sandbox. I told him the knife would do any knife task he needed it to and would work for many other things too. He came back safe and I never asked if the knife survived the deployment. I need to replace that knife, I miss it.
you know, ive mostly written off most things from cold steel besides a machete or self defense knife, and i was genuinely skeptical and had compeltely scoffed it off as a joke product at first when i heard of a non-traditional style of axe head. but when i saw lynn and zach talking about it. it compeltely changed my view of it. this year is a banger for cold steel. i love so much stuff theyve put out this year i can tell my wallets going to be hurting.
I love the design of the blades---but some reviewers on Amazon said that the grind on the blades were around 35 - 40 degrees, making the knife a dull letter opener at best. If I didn't know the differences, it could lead to failure, and injury. I want to sue them, but have no resources to make that happen. At the 12:14 mark of this video, Lynn Thompson says "all this detail is forged in". Making it sound like Cold Steels new tomahawks have hand-forged detail, which is completely not true because they are actually dop forged(the "detail" is from the shape/design of the mold where a steel billet is rammed into it to form the shape of that mold).
I'm sorry Lynn, your trench hawk and your war hawk are your best hatchets for chopping and throwing. I have a friend that has been throwing your trench hawk everyday and still has not broke the handle and he has tried to break it. He is up to 67 ft throwing distance
