- Should I bring back the Grow Table segment where I review plants like the Special Prize Tomato and discuss what I am growing now?
If you get lots of value from content such as this I will do my best to make it a weekly segment each Wednesday!
Let's talk about that today here live on the Martys Garden channel.

Giving things a miss for a bit as had some bills go out I wasn’t expecting- had to get some bits for the cold we been having.
But once I stabilise then will sort it out Marty.
Gardening in general is "off the charts" 👍
Cheers! it sure is
I've been growing a heritage tomato for a couple years, called 'Mortgage lifter' it grows to around 1.5 metres and produces good crops of large fruit ( I had one tomato this season that weighed in at 450 grams. ) I started with one plant originally, then saved the seeds and have been growing from those ever since, sharing the seeds and seedlings with friends and family.
Wow, nice big Tomato that one! Maybe I will give that a go next summer. Who knows it may even make it to the Grow Table segment!
I also saw bottom-watering sir. Am a fan of tomatoes and bottom-watering!
Hi Brent, you know your Tomatoes that's for sure!
Hi ya Marty good idea not in the garden today 160mm of rain yesterday , take care and safe cheers Barry 🌾🪱♻️🥵⛈️🥰
Wow, that's a lot, stay safe my friend!

We will see Mrs Wobbles how the response goes!
Grow Table😊😊😊
I need to find a few more cool plants to review hehe!
@@martysgarden it’s time for onions in Garlic inn February (Temperate Zone
@@rickthelian2215 cheers
@@rickthelian2215 yea garlic and onions in the uk…. Next month can start a lot more, can start stuff now if you have the protection.
But I find starting next month is good as things catch up on earlier showings as day lengths are longer so I don’t start till march.
And this month I turn my schedule to sorting out the garden weather permitting.
I find rocket is a great companion to tomato
Cool, thanks for sharing your findings!
Wait up! you're planting tomatoes now? Geez I don't think I could manage that down in Melbourne.
I might try some Black Zebra tomato cuttings to see if they'll give some late fruit.
They have been by far my best performer this year, way better than the Romas which is unusual.
I vote for bringing the grow table back as a regular segment of Martysgarden.
My second run of Toms, late season. In the right place, we can grow in winter here too!
like the idea of each wensday tip keep mentioning the plants name
Thanks, not sure how interested the whole community is though
@@martysgarden Time will tell ace. Nothing ventured nothing gained
You video came up just in time as I have just started my tomato starts so great encouragement!! I;m doing "Box car Willie" varieties and the basil does seem to help with pests and you get good basil. Win-win haha
Glad I can help and provide some encouragement
Marigolds we plant with tomatoes
Nice companion for so many crops!
@@martysgarden yea I saved a load of seeds last year and from the nastershum- can’t spell.
I hope this year too grow more dotted here and there
Bring the review table back.
Marty, are you going to sell seeds?
I never seem to be able to find the time unfortunately..Maybe one day!
Do you grow Chokos Marty would love to know more about them. We are trying to grow some in the back yard
Good that you mentioned that. We have one vine, but we want to build a special space for one to grow. Stay tuned as I am quite sure it's going to happen.
Hi Marty I thought indeterminate was related to size? Like determinate was a bush tomato ?? Thanks for your Chanel, Inspired me to plant more I found half price at B….
Haha take care for now 🍅
Determinate are generally shorter bushier, but they are called Determinate for their short growth cycle
