1- How much time does it take to receive AOR once we apply for it outside Canada ?
2- How much time does the spouse have to come in Canada once she gets her TRV approved ?

Usually 2-4 months for an AOR at the moment. They usually have quite a bit of time to enter (over a year or so)

hey JAde, i have couple of questions: I live in quebec and i am planning to move to ontario by end of next year, can i start the application outside of quebec even if i did not move to ontario yet ? and once my wife gets her TRV and she is here, does she need a job offer to apply for work permit ? or the work permit gets processed based on spousal application ? thank you for your time
Hello, I need to include my newborn baby in my wife's sponsorship application. Her application has reached the stage where we are required to complete medical examinations. I have filled out forms IMM 0008, IMM 1283E, and IMM 1344E to include our newborn. However, I would appreciate a second look to ensure there are no mistakes. Thank you.

I usually recommend waiting for after you have the AOR.

Hi Jade! Great video! I have a question concerning Canadians that live abroad and want to sponsor a spouse. How does one show that they can support financially that spouse and is there any problems if the spouse has a visitor visa previously given to them and now they decide to go and live in Canada? Thanks, you need to show your proof of income (job, savings etc) to show you have enough money to support your spouse. The TRV shouldn't affect anything in theory, but I'd have to know more about your case.

I applied for a trv and it's been almost two months with no response yet. It is definitely more then 30 days for approval.

Can individuals now apply for an open work permit if they already have a visitor visa had submitted their application for spousal sponsorship before the changes took place?
Thanks for sharing this information, it is a relief that the procesing times are getting faster we submitted our application since january 17 2023 within canada and through an immigration consultant. We have been living together from before submitting the application, I want to think the counselor applied as canada class and/or inland (i didnt know about this types or classes before searching on youtube). I still dont get work permit and no response or any update after the biometrics I did on july 31st .We neet to travel , I have to go to my country and the counselor just send us to talk to her assitant which doesn't have much experience or all the answers. If we get to talk to the counselor is only by phone call and her information about whats next or what can we do to get out of the country is always ambiguous 😢. Am I able to travel for 2 or 3 weeks or not and why ? And why still dont have wp ? 😢
Hi there, if you have an eta/trv then you should be able to travel. If you've applied for the work permit because you don't have a trv, then you'll probably have to wait.

Hi Jade. Any idea why spousal TRV is taking more than 30 days? Given that I applied while having AOR and letter of Approval for Sponsor from the Federal as well.

Yes usually you can enter as a visitor, submit the PR application and then the work permit. Keep in mind you have to stay in the country during processing and you won't be able to work in Canada for quite some time.
Hello Jade I have a questions I am Canadian I go to visit my wife every year sometimes 2 months 3 months but I don't have a marriage certificate now I have two children my son is 7 years old and my daughter is 5 years old now they both have Canadian citizenship certificate and Canadian passport I was wondering if I want to take them to Canada do I have to do anything or I just buy airplane ticket and take them here

Just a passport! If your spouse isn't coming be mindful of showing you have authorization to travel with them without her.

I have one more question, I'm legally separate from my ex wife sometime in 1991 I lost that separation documents but in 2014 I when to Cambodia have another wife I have two children with her I go to stay with her every year sometimes two months three months, Can I Sponsor Her if I don't have a married certificate, I wanted to have a divorce certificate with my ex wife, She is here in Canada but I don't know where, Can I get a divorce certificate without Her or I can make a married certificate without a divorce certificate.

I'm currently working on my application of sponsor inland. However this is the 5th moth im here, and I entered as a visitor. Should I apply for an extension (visitor record) or does submitting the online application gives me the "implied status"?
Hi there, by virtue of submitting the application, you'll maintain your status. With this being said, I always apply for the VR or Work permit within the first 6 months as well so that IRCC sees you have valid status.

Hm it's a bit long to be honest for an inland application, I'd maybe do an access to information request, let me know if you need help.
@@JadeCalver Thank you for replying. As I mentioned, my husband and I applied in September 2022, I forgot to mention that we received my work permit in January 2023 but since then we’ve just been waiting on the PR
It is BS, My trv was just refused and we have had a PR in process for 13 months.
For an outland application do both the Spousal and TRV Applications get filed at the same time or does the TRV get filed after getting confirmation that the Canadian sponsor is eligible to be a sponsor ? Thanks

Hi there, you file the PR (spousal sponsorship) first, wait for a file number, then you file the TRV.

You have to apply for a spousal to get the open work permit. You can apply for other types of work permits, but usually for these you need a job offer.

I'm from the usa I just received my aor from canada. Can I apply for an eta instead of a visitor visa? And can I still get a work permit? Sorry to bother you, but I can find the answer anywhere.
It's a trick question, US citizens don't need an ETA nor a TRV to enter Canada.

Hey, I applied on 1st Nov but still I got no response. I forgot to give my AOR letter while submitting the application and also forgot to give my UCI number. I applied for TRV after getting AOR. Please let me know what should I do now?
Your UCI will be the same for both applications, I'd send in your AOR via webform.

Yes, government support because of a disability doesn't necessarily mean that they will refuse you. You will still have to show that there is enough money to support you (the sponsored person) when you become a PR. Savings, proof of your work, family support can all help.
Hi jade, my husband wasn’t working. He had a brains surgery last July and I’ll be coming on December 8 for tourist visa. Does he still able to sponsor me for PR? Thank you in advance for your answers.

If applicant is already having visitor visa and apply for PR as outland resident, then can they apply for work permit?
Yes but only if they are physically in Canada first
