Have to agree with your comment re Legends Never Die, but funnily one of them is also a rock singer who plays guitar …he’s Kang HyungHo and his rock act is called PITTA (with LeeYongWoo) …he is the only member of the group who has no formal music education because family would only support a job with prospects, so he got a degree in chemical engineering and worked 4 years using that, as a chemical researcher for a large petrochemical company. Musically he is self-taught and was frontman for rock bands from University days through to a work band. PITTA is the name resurrected with permission from his previous band before the work one. He has an upcoming concert in January on the 13&14th 2024. He auditioned for the JTBC TV PHANTOM SINGERS 2 show 2017 that was looking for a crossover quartet, as a last ditch effort to see if he had what it took to make it in the music industry. He became a member of Forestella on that show and quit his job a year later. The basso profundo voice, Ko Woorim …maknae(youngest)…far left here..is a classically trained opera singer, Kang HyungHo …next to him…is classified as a tenor soprano, but really has a versatile rock, pop, jazz,reggaeton, voice, …Cho MinGyu, their leader and leggiero(thin/light) tenor voice is also a classically trained opera singer and same as the bass, completed Masters degree in Music, VOICE. Lastly is the eldest or hyung of the group Bae Doohoon, baritone tenor…a graduate of Musical Theatre and acting with a proficiently versatile voice, being able to sing pop, rock, jazz, gukak( traditional Korean music), reggaeton, folk, musical theatre, etc😊. I recommend Lazenca,Save us , Time in a Bottle , and their new offering Snow Globe……but also checkout Kang HyungHo appearing solo about 2yrs after Forestella launched in a MBN tv competition LOTTO SINGER, where his performance of PHANTOM OF THE OPERA spawned a video with around 6million views….you will see why. Remember he is self-taught and has continued to develop once he joined Forestella.
By the way, FORESTELLA founded itself. All members took part separately in the competition to form a classical quartet in Phantom Singer 2. Cho MinGyu, meanwhile, was looking for voices that would suit his own. And he managed to convince the boys, FORESTELLA was founded before the end of the competition. (Which they also won). And MinGyu had a "genius touch". These voices are made for each other, a unique symbiosis.
It was a bit more complicated than that. There really was no convincing, they were recruited by teams that won. Mingyu kept winning. He saved Woorim from elimination for the Duet portion. Those two won the Duet competition and pulled in Doohoon (after he lost) for their Trios. Once they reached Quartets, all teams were dissolved and there was a random quartet assignment where Mingyu worked with Hyungho and let him be the rocker he wants to be. After that, they all voted for who they wanted on their Quartet for finals and Forestella was born.

They were competitors on a survival elimination show called "Phantom Singer" whose goal was to create a crossover vocal quartet like II Divo. They compete 1 v. 1, then the survivors move on to duos, then trios... and finally the Quartet. Mingyu (2nd from the right) won every round and that gave him the chance to recruit the others (He was VERY strategic about his choices). They are lightning in a bottle. The show has turned out several great quartets, but none have the widespread appeal of Forestella. Outstanding live performances to check out, Lazenca, Save Us (From the Space Rock Opera), Inner Universe (from Ghost in the Shell), Time in a Bottle, Ju Suis Malade, Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk), Bad Romance, Mama (EXO song),and Despacito. For an extra treat, check out Kang Hyungho's "Phantom of the Opera" audition (he sings both The Phantom and Christine's parts). Original songs to check out: Save our Lives, Utopia (and I recommend listening to those in that order… the songs are a series), Snow Globe (Which is a fanciful retelling of their history), and for a shock to your system, Kool. I‘m glad, you finally returned to watching these guys, after you threw me down that rabbit hole and then let me fight (and lose against) that addiction alone 🤣 When they did „Legends never die“ I believe the overall theme of the show was „Honoring the everyday heroes“, because there were a lot of police officers, firefighters and such in the audience 😊

Just an extra aside..they are famous for being practice-aholics …that’s why it looks easy. They practice by themselves, and then practice together after the parts best suited to each voice has been assigned. They have live streams now available on RUclips where they were asked by fans to swap the roles they normally sing to see what they would sound like…. Much hilarity ensued😂…also they experimented with sped up versions of songs they’ve sung .. so entertaining and illuminating😊
They had so much fun singing each others parts! It was just as much fun to watch and listen. :) They are so impossible talented! But they do practice constantly, even while getting hair and make-up done. These four guys I think, just live for singing and we are so privileged to hear them!! All of us fans are trying to patiently wait for Woorim to complete his military. Hehe...he just entered. ;p But the military band will hone his voice into even more than he already is.

Yes, a really impressive rendition and as always a best performance from FORESTELLA. Very close to the original and yet so different. They know how to convey the right vibes to their versions. What a haunting, subliminally threatening atmosphere that they create with their incredible vocals. The first tones go straight to the skin. Personally, I like their version of “Legends Never Die” a little better. Anyway, I also highly recommend their versions of "Lazenca Save Us" and "MAMA" and their latest own incredible original "Snow Globe"
