Idyllic. I think this is my favorite video of yours so far, Slim. The sunset and moon/Venus timelapse was stunning. And the lovely footage from the kayak with that footage of just the reflections on the water was so relaxing. Very nice videography.
Be careful of partially submerged trees, especially in a area with a strong currant, the underneath bits can snag you and pull you under. It happened on a river in Oregon where I floated many times. A city dweller tried to float through, got snagged, pulled under by the currant and drowned. Lovely area, beautiful rocks. Thanks Slim
Around @ 4:12 mark, that silhouette shot (pick a frame and screenshot) would make a great T-Shirt. Definitely put your name/logo on it. You could do some cool color combos!
So peaceful and beautiful. The time lapse of the moon and the stars was breathtaking...and I love hearing just the sound of the water and the birds. What a great camp spot. Thank you SP for such a beautiful video.
You are my favorite youtuber! Excellent photography, storytelling and knowledge of the park and area around it. Always look forward to viewing your latest adventure, product reviews, your interesting culinary choices or your DIY projects. Your honest approach to life and everything you do is very admirable. Thank you for including us, your RUclips watching friends.
Thank you for a perfectly timed video. My wife and I are grieving the loss of an old and deeply beloved pet, and your videos have always cheered us up, this one appearing only hours after our loss. Also, as Tennesseans, this video is doubly effective at a particularly difficult time. Again, thank you, and we hope you continue for years to come.
I empathize with your sentiments, and am sorry for the loss of your "baby." Slim has a way of soothing my wife and I, as well. I dabble in video production, and I'm digging Slim's production style, and his persona. Again, sorry for your loss, and we 2nd your comment.
That was a beautiful campsite! I sure enjoyed watching you paddle the kayak down the inlet. I've gone tubing in Idaho on the Couer d' Alene River and it was fun until I almost fell off hitting a fallen tree!
very nice video, calm times on the water. Sounds like a great camp site, sure can't beat the price. We all met in Tenn. for a family reunion, several years ago. It was a central location since we were all coming from different states; FL., GA., MI. We were in Sevierville, Tennessee. We rented a house with plenty of bedrooms. It's in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so there was lots to do in any direction. Looks like it's an hour and 30 min. from where you were. That area is very pretty and was a great time.
so THAT'S how you carry heavy water bottles when filled... I am 71 yo and learned another new trick today....thanks, Slim.... and putting this campsite on my list...and I have a folding 26# kayak that I will def use here....
I think those thin sedimentary layers are shale-slate is harder and maybe thicker (and takes longer to form). I’m guessing leftovers from a Cretaceous shallow sea, but maybe younger ❤
I think it's awesome that, having confessed a fear of the water in the past, you now speak so glowingly of the chance to bring your kayak and spend time on the water.
Me either, I cannot swim but it's 20 years I'm kayaking on lakes and calm rivers. Always with the jacket and the safety equipment. It's so relaxing, also in our crowded lakes in North Italy. Ciao!
With a view like that, being right on the water and able to kayak from your site, you really can't ask for more. That's a beautiful campsite Slim. At the 9:37 mark, Fire Pink is the stunning wildflower in that shot. Hope you have some more videos tucked away for us from prior travels. Thanks for sharing and hope you are well.
The best days are when you put out a new video. No matter what you do. Camping or cabin. You are such a remakable human. So soft and caring for nature and funny. Just wanted you to know. Never change.
Glad to see you are in my neck of the Woods. I am 15 minutes from Jacob's Creek and have boondock camped there many times. The sunsets over the water are beautiful from Jacob's Creek Campground over looking South Holston Lake. The South Holston, drive over Dam, is nearby. Last time I was camping, there were Copper Head Snakes!! Glad you enjoyed our beautiful TN mtn views. Retired Lady Hiker Tennessee, always watching. Love your Videos
Another great video. Glad you back tracked to release it. I also canoe during the summers in Ohio and we are very fortunate to have great waterways to enjoy.
Over the years you have posted videos from places I just was or was about to be. Jacobs Creek is only about an hour from where I live right now. I hope I have the pleasure of bumping into one day.
I noticed the clean shaven Slim. Hubby noticed the missing Silverado at the end of this video. We went straight to comments to solve these mysteries and saw that this was filmed in May 2023. LOVE ALL your videos!
Morning I always enjoy your videos Your cabin rebuilding is entertaining and interesting to save the building and create a beautiful homestead For weekend adventures Travel travel traveling Show various hiking And educational Information keep up the good work always enjoy your comments and your inspiration Thank you thank you Randy
Love it as usual. I'll admit, it took me a few minutes to realize it was older. I noticed the Jeep and said, Hey, what's up. I like how you are going back and forth from camping to cabin. Keep them coming!!
Love watching your kayaking adventures from NZ but please be careful wearing gumboots in your kayak, if you end up in the water they'll keep you from getting back on board, keep up the great content 👍
That's why we chose Tennessee to move to in 2026! We loved Cumberland Mountain and David Crockett State Parks. Until then we are traveling the US and Canada full-time in our RV! We're now in NH and our campsite has a 270 degree view of the White Mountains! Next comes Bar Harbor, ME and down the east coast to Floriday before heading back up to Banff, the Yukon and Alaska, then down the west coast. Thanks and be safe out there!
As Ratty said to the Mole, Slim: "Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing- absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
We call that rock shale here in Tennessee. As much as I travel around myself there’s no place like my home state of Tennessee. There are lots of special places you can find without hardly trying. There’s been times I have not gotten my kayak off the roof and gone Id guess at least 2000 miles. But when I can get in the water it certainly is worth it. Heading east to the cool mountains soon 👍💕✌️
So wonderful to see you in my home state. I have always enjoyed your videos and this one was very special. You are always welcome in the Great State of Tennessee! ❤️
Glad you’re getting some posts out there. A day without Slim is like a day without, er, Slim! Cheers from VA! I just got back from five week 13k mile trek to Southern California, north to Alaska, thence returned across the prairie provinces. I’ve now hit all 50 US states and all Canadian provinces. Keep ‘em rolling!
Seeing the slate got my curiosity up as to the geology of that area. There were indeed slate roofing quarries and supply providers in Eastern Tennessee dating back into the late 1800s. You were in the right location to find it in those sedimentary stone layers.
At 14:15... looks like the sediments were laid down in very low energy environment... no rushing river here! Those layers are like the rings on a tree. Much can be read from the thickness of the layers and the sediments they are made of. I spent 40 years working in a University Geography Department and I developed quite an interest in Geology and Geomorphology so I quite often find myself intrigued by the landscapes and geologies that you visit or travel through.
NOTE FROM SLIM: From the video description: "Filmed in May 2023". Thanks!
I was fanna say nice new jeep 😄
I was about to ask if you traded your truck 👍
we been waiting for this one for a long time.
U need a pickle with that sandwich thank you for the pictures and the views 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for wonderful review of Tennessee! I love our state ❤
Idyllic. I think this is my favorite video of yours so far, Slim. The sunset and moon/Venus timelapse was stunning. And the lovely footage from the kayak with that footage of just the reflections on the water was so relaxing. Very nice videography.
I’m saving this one in my “ mental relaxation” file …. Oh the sound of the paddles!
Tennessee is my home and I think the best state in America!

Great shot of the moon's trajectory and the sunset in general. Nice work.
I live in Tennessee and it’s beautiful here.
So peaceful and beautiful. The time lapse of the moon and the stars was breathtaking...and I love hearing just the sound of the water and the birds. What a great camp spot. Thank you SP for such a beautiful video.
Thank you, Slim! I really enjoyed this video, the scenery was spectacular. I wrote down the name of the campground, it looked really nice. 🩷

I love that campground! I have spent a lot of time hunting and fishing that area.
An unexpected gem from 2023. Most enjoyable.
Them Moon following Venus was a perfect shot.
Brilliant comments about the kayak, Slim!
Nice to see the Liberty again. Had to double check to make sure it was a newly released video :)
Nice time lapse!

I live in East Tn and would never leave it! So calm and relaxing! Great visuals.....feels like I am right there!
Nice video, Inoticed when you were backing into your campsite you had your Jeep. So I knew this was an older video. Looks like a very calm place.

That was incredible. The lake shots during & after sunset were surreal. The kayaking was immersive.
Over the years you have posted videos from places I just was or was about to be. Jacobs Creek is only about an hour from where I live right now. I hope I have the pleasure of bumping into one day.
Would definitely love to visit that campsite for sure 👍
We do bot care about the date/time when the video was filmed, an upload from Slim is an upload that is always welcomed. Period.

Agreed, love going to TN, very nice spot you found there.
Thank you for this serene, beautiful trip. I am in Florida and with all the crazy going on in the US now, I really needed this. Thanks!
I was confused at first, but I am glad to see the old footage. Keep editing and uploading, Slim!

Super job on the Timelapse of the lake.
