Gotta build a motorized bicycle perfect for your channel i can help you build a motor i build 66cc motors that will get you to 50mph or even a true 80cc motor all about preference check my vids out
Just in case you didn’t know, I’m only 4 mins into the vid, if you loosen the carburetor on the intake part to the engine and tilt it all the way so that the bottom is facing the other side, you can slide it off and on without taking the top off.
@@chrismaz100 what can you modify on a moped? I’m assuming maybe just a higher CC engine or brakes? If you can’t tell I’m not into mopeds or motorcycles but i have an interest in them
@@ammarisrar2005You can modify a ton of things on a moped. You can nearly double the top speed, but taking it too far will result in an engine that won't last very long. The first thing is to increase displacement. You can go all the way from 50cc to 80cc, though the cases have to be machined for the 80cc cylinder. You can shave the head and raise the compression ratio. You can use an expansion chamber exhaust and a larger carburetor with richer jetting to get more air/fuel mixture into and out of the engine. The ignition timing can be advanced slightly. You will need to use high octane gas. I have used panty hose stretched over the carburetor to allow more air to get through than an actual filter. If you are chasing absolute speed, you can run slightly higher gearing, and narrower high pressure bicycle tires for less rolling resistance. Use low handlebars to help reduce wind resistance. If you plan to go that far, plan to spend a lot of money and do a lot of work on what will turn out to be a very short lived machine. Don't worry about brakes. Only ride it wide open in a place where you don't need to worry about brakes. You wouldn't have any traction with high pressure bicycle tires anyway. These things were designed to go 30 mph max. When you double that, you can't expect it to be safe. But that is part of the fun of it.
I had one of these in the early 80's. I loved it. During the gas crisis I rode that and could fill up for a week for $0.40 cents. It would have a problem every so often but I could always fix it by taking it apart and putting it back together again.
Yup… same here. Every once in a while it would vapor-lock on me… simply removing air filter and tapping the carb usually fixed it. Did a complete carb clean one time when that didn’t solve the vapor lock. Was able to ride that thing for 1000’s of miles. Ended up selling mine for around $600 in 1986… at the height of the moped craze in my state.
Got one myself. A 1988 Puch Maxi L (L for luxury) with pedals and suspension rear and front, made in Austria, dutch model. Has cost me about 1k euros so far. Half for the moped, the other half for parts. I live in Denmark, Puch Maxis are culture here, they’re quite expensive.
It's nice to see Jayde again. She is very pretty. You are a lucky guy, Joe. lol. Congrads' on being a new Homeowner. I hope you enjoy it for years to come. Love the Puch. I use to see one or two when I was in college. I hope she loves the bike too. Jayde seems to be handling it very well. Good for her! You two enjoy your life now and your new home. Now your Father can finally say," Get this stuff outta here!" lol Keep the videos coming. I still need to learn so much more. Again Bro, you two please stay safe and healthy.
Just found my wife’s 1985 maxi sport which she bought new and left in her dads barn about 35 years ago... bringing it back to ours soon and hope it,ll start as easily as yours, hers has a kick starter and 6500 miles on the clock.
My grandad had one of these a puch maxi, he used to ride it up and down the toe path to open the locks on the canals for the barges, fun things, you two make for a great couple, always keep faithfull and love each other forever, 🙏🏻❤ from🏴🇬🇧👍, oh happy independance day,🇺🇸❤🇺🇸
I own several. I pronounce it "pook" as in Luke or spook. But according to a magazine ad from the '70s, it is supposed to be pronounced the same as "hook" or "book" Doesn't really matter, they are wonderful mopeds, and an icon of better times. That one has the 2hp, 2 speed ZA50 engine, which will haul my 240 pounds up fairly steep mountain grades. It also has the 5 star wheels, which are the strongest and widest of the 3 wheels types offered on Puch and Puch/Kromag mopeds. However, it also has the weakest shocks available on a Puch, with the small springs inside. If you are on the heavy side, it's best to upgrade to the super heavy duty shocks with the much larger and stronger springs on the outside. Air filter assembly is sealed. You can still buy new ones. New Bing carburetors are also still available, as well as all the parts to rebuild the old ones. Same for almost every part of the engine/transmission. The one serious weak point on a Puch moped is the way the cable attaches to the throttle. The one other issue is that the gas tanks tend to rust, and they are a structural part of the frame. On the stock Puch exhaust, there is a seal between the muffler and header pipe which is prone to failure. It is normal for them to spit out oil from there. The seal is replaceable. The exhaust can be taken apart and cleaned. I absolutely love that smoke trail. Mopeds are supposed to be pedaled. They are just there for legal reasons and to start it. Why is the mirror on the wrong side? Go to a Tractor Supply store, and you can get regular nozzles for gas cans. I can't believe you got that for $120. You can easily get $1500 out of it, maybe more.
in 1988 my 16 year old brother had this exact moped, color and all. He worked at a restaurant inside a small airport 8 miles away. He drove it there, but at 10 pm whenhe got out, my Father would follow him home on it in the car. With the Puch headlights on, on the back roads. My brother never let me ride it. I would love to score one.
Those are fantastic mopeds. Extremely durable and tough. In Denmark we used a worn rusted out Puch Maxi to tow a trailer with another moped in it for about 12 miles. Even with a flat rear tire and a fat guy riding it, the Puch kept going all the way home. These are amazing bikes few in the U.S. know about or appreciate. I hope this story helps.

Nice find. I remember being 12 and my neighbor had one of these. I always wanted one but never got around to it. I just just finish restoring a Yamaha Zuma for me and my wife to putt around at the beach. Unfortunately beach plans have been put on a holding pattern this year because of everything that has been going on.
I bought one new in 197 and I still ride it. They were NOT made for peddling the go way to slow when peddling. The only problem I had was the 90 degree resistor at the sparkplug went bad and I had trouble finding the problem. I am 82 and still ride it. and love it.
"Will it run?" Quelle question...
I had one of these back in the day...mine was blue. It's pronounced "pook" I rode the hell out mine... Take the can off pull the silencer out and clean it with brake cleaner. They get gummed up pretty good. A buck twenty is a steal! Nice find!
You crack me up! It’s not a dirt bike you kick over 😀They were called mopeds and I had an early 80s black Garrelli with the gold mags. You pedal it on the stand or ride like a bike and engage the clutch to start and just keep going once it starts.. I loved mine.
I had a puch dirt bike 50cc 2stroke and it was very fast for an automatic transmission. And snappy on take-off. Love your videos keep up the great work
Still have my '82 Puch Magnum 2spd. Moped. Did a few minor mods. Had a guy rework the 1st gear clutch, so it would stretch a bit longer before shifting to 2nd gear, shortened the intake piston skirt about 2mm, mils port work. Bike ran easy 40mph. Had a different cylinder, with a single ring piston, ported, ran almost 50mph! I raised compression little too high, preignited, melted part of piston dome around the compression ring.
Really enjoyed the video, I know its an older one, but I recently picked up a Puke....lol, mine was the same issue as yours, with the carburetor, and the sticky throttle was just the twist mechanism, needed lube. but thanks for sharing, also enjoyed watching Jade ride it, lol, good job! "its clapped" The pedals are awkward on mine too, its hard to describe it without actually trying it. I keep telling my wife she needs to ride ours to work. shes only one mile from where she works. Havent talked her into it yet.
I had a similar one when I was 13 me and my friend would ride it around the valley and we added a portable CD player with speakers so we had music while riding. We would jump it and mud bog it. The best $30 for the bike😂 fun times
Hey looks like a great house congrats man! If i can offer you a tip when your removing pad staples off floor u could use a dull scrapper with some force. I use a ice breaker its way faster than pulling one by one. Keep up the great content
I’ve loved mopeds since I was in high schools. Graduated in 1991. I had a Honda but wanted a tomos they had the 2 speeds. I had a friend who had one. I’d love to find one of these 2 speeds now
I have a Maxi Sport from 1979, I have installed what is called a "cigar udstødning" making it pull a bit faster, and it also has a foot-brake instead of hand, very fun to drive must say
nice bro!! i'm from brasil and here we have some similar motorcycles. Every child wants to buy it in 90's. if you're curious about, it's called Caloi AV7, Caloi XR and here it's called "Mobilete"
DAMN Son! I don't know what's prettier, Jade or that mini PUCHE Bike? 😆😄 Congrats on the new place man....2Vintage will be moving there? Or still filming from your house?
with any 2 stroke a rust free tank is the first and most important thing. A filter will NOT remove the micro-fine rust. clean, etch and coat if rusty. If not you are lucky.
Hope you’re new neighbors don’t mind the noise and oil stains on the property if that’s where you’re new videos are going to take place good work love the videos
How much money can I make off of this hobby that people enjoy... I have money to buy low and sell high, and don't feel any guilt about it, probably would buy a atv for 500 and sell it to his cousin for 2500 without fixing a thing
My step brother had one of these when I was about 12 years old, I use to blast it about up and down the garden when he went out! He must have wondered why the petrol kept disappearing! GREAT FUN :0}
Puch (the "ch" is pronounced like the Scottish "Loch" in Loch Ness). And Puch motorbikes are not made in Australia, but in Austria. When will you Americans finally realize that there is Austria and that there is Australia. It's not that difficult, right?
Always makes me smile - I meet people dirt biking that are convinced their KTMs are made in Australia. Think it's funny and I don't correct them anymore. Life is too short.
If you put a charged battery on it your light should should be alot brighter and horn will actually be loud enough lol or maybe it just needs ridden a bit to get woken up real well after sitting
before i see the hole video... so cool u got a puch :D i own to my self one whit kickstarter and 1 whit pedals... no rear springs tho they are called Puch maxi P and K in denmark ( rigid frame )? also they have the E50 engine not the 2 speed :P
Buy a Gilardoni Italkit, 24mm Delorto Carburator, MVT ignition system, sparkplug From NGK B7HS, new Crankshaft: Swiing high end with 1mm more cubic capacity, new Clutch from GPO Aramid coated, clutch basket from swiing and a Homoet p 6 I drive with this setup……… little more Power 🤟🏼🇨🇭
To ride one of these on the road where I live you need to register it, have 2 million dollars liability and have a motorcycle license and obviously plates and stickers. That horn sounds like a squirrel getting electrocuted
I'll give you credit on this one kid. Excellent find, nice and simple machine which I hope to see you work more on them. While not highly desirable they still give you some wiggle room for mistakes. Although I am curious as to why each time you check for spark the first thing you do is put the old plug back in? Why not just replace it. The second curiosity is your comment about it sitting for ten years, I do disagree with that statement. If that was the case it would look like hell, probably wouldn't run period. I've noticed you don't wear the proper safety gear to ride which is your choice, as foolish as it is it's still a smart move. It sounds like she's getting interested in riding you'd be wise to encourage her to wear the basic gear. Even just a helmet. for the love of god send her to a proper training instructor to help her transition to riding. My GF at the time gave me a massive amount of shit for not wearing the right gear. my argument was it's expensive so keep that in mind when she gets on the road. A lot of people driving on the road are idiots they don't pay attention, especially when it comes to motorcyclists. People usually panic in a tight spot then they lay down the bike. Beginners are highly subject to this kinda situation which can get really ugly really fast! My first street bike was a 750 enough power to get into trouble while being forgiving in some ways. The setup was $1200 that's worth the price over breaking bones and dangerous injuries.
wear riding gloves. When you go down, your natural instinct is to catch yourself, and at that point your hands become road crayons, I have seen it and it is not pretty, so get some gloves and wear them EVERY time you ride.
It is restricted to 30mph. You road it like a bike to start it. The pedals where a requirement to be about to ride a moped in the UK in the 1970s as a 16 year old.

Congrats on the new pad.
In Amerika gibt es auch Mofas?
I haven’t watched it yet but it was a banger lol
Gonna be weird seeing videos from a new garage
He didn't make videos from his previous garage, so I doubt you'll see any from this new one. He'll still use his parents.
@@miket7345 duhhhh put every thing at his parents :) who doesnt do that

My first bike ever at 16 never stopped since the cc’s went up but the same sensation
In Denmark a Puch Maxi in good condition is minimum 2200 USD.

Good stuff ur a lucky guy and she doesn’t mind u filling up the garage with stuff lol

My ex wife didn't approve of my projects and toys so I kept my junk and got rid of her! 👍👍👍
WD-40 Everything I would do the same tbh
Cool video! Try a 70cc in combination with a Pollini or Proma exhaust for even more fun. And a 15mm carburetor of course 👌🏽
lol Your dad loves that thing. Good present for him.
Nice place.hope u get along with neighbors .looks like u share a driveway..goodluck
Hi Jade! Congrats to you both!
You are the best . Keep it up
Hope you’re new neighbors don’t mind the noise and oil stains on the property if that’s where you’re new videos are going to take place good work love the videos
He'll still use his dad's like always. Made no sense to buy a place with no land and too-close neighbors.
You can barely buy a parts only one for that price these days. That one looks like it would go for $800-2000
Jade was the reason I watched the video 👍
Welcome back to the videos Jade!
Hi joe what camera do you use?
Title's should read: "Will it ever run right?"
How much money can I make off of this hobby that people enjoy... I have money to buy low and sell high, and don't feel any guilt about it, probably would buy a atv for 500 and sell it to his cousin for 2500 without fixing a thing
Yeah I hate those new style gas nozzles with the spring loaded things on them, real annoying when trying to fill up something like a push mower.
She's beautiful and the bike ain't bad either!
How many squirts for jade
My step brother had one of these when I was about 12 years old, I use to blast it about up and down the garden when he went out! He must have wondered why the petrol kept disappearing! GREAT FUN :0}
"Looks like it spilling out some oil, let's take it for a quick rip" hahaha
We call them 'Peddle And Pops' in the UK.
Dame son jade needs some pee wee training skills lol 😆
Puch (the "ch" is pronounced like the Scottish "Loch" in Loch Ness). And Puch motorbikes are not made in Australia, but in Austria. When will you Americans finally realize that there is Austria and that there is Australia. It's not that difficult, right?
Always makes me smile - I meet people dirt biking that are convinced their KTMs are made in Australia. Think it's funny and I don't correct them anymore. Life is too short.
I got one of the Huskwarnas
If you put a charged battery on it your light should should be alot brighter and horn will actually be loud enough lol or maybe it just needs ridden a bit to get woken up real well after sitting
Kinda Crazy to see one in Canada/Merica/australia
They are pretty normal in austria🔥

Buy a Gilardoni Italkit, 24mm Delorto Carburator, MVT ignition system, sparkplug From NGK B7HS, new Crankshaft: Swiing high end with 1mm more cubic capacity, new Clutch from GPO Aramid coated, clutch basket from swiing and a Homoet p 6
I drive with this setup……… little more Power 🤟🏼🇨🇭
Silly question... If a moped can be throttled, what's the pedaling for?
That's how you start it
@@AB-dl1hz Thanks

To ride one of these on the road where I live you need to register it, have 2 million dollars liability and have a motorcycle license and obviously plates and stickers. That horn sounds like a squirrel getting electrocuted
Besides the weight, they have a short pedal crank too so not the easiest things to ride.
When you go down, your natural instinct is to catch yourself, and at that point your hands become road crayons, I have seen it and it is not pretty, so get some gloves and wear them EVERY time you ride.
you better put a tuning cylinder on that thing 😂 the kits are pretty cheap and easy to get 😄 even on amazon i think
It is restricted to 30mph. You road it like a bike to start it. The pedals where a requirement to be about to ride a moped in the UK in the 1970s as a 16 year old.
Restricted in the US as well to 30 or 32 mph I believe. That said, we found ways to jet the carbs and get them to go around 50 mph or so.
There is something about these old mopeds that hits the spot :)
Jade is the highlight of the video!
