And You likely aren't Spanish so you don't know how hilarious it is to listen to him speak. Oh and he has no permit so his been dodging the Spanish authorities for 52 years now hahahahah
He won't. I don't think he ever planned to in his lifetime. But it's hard to start something like that and not have someone else come by and continue it.
Why do you call his faith and God a "fairy" and sh*t on everything he does? Legit, anything we do too is pretty useless, but he's happy. HAPPY. And he's dedicated...its beautiful. Think about this for once: we're all going to die. Guaranteed. No preservation of life, no reset button, we die. So....being successful and dying is apparently going to help over building and dying, right? He decided his path, you have no right to criticize it. Since when were YOU so dedicated to anything that you'd do that? Hm?
Also, did you just say so easy?SO EASY???? DO YOU SEE THAT? ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU COULD DO THAT? OF F*CKING COURSE YOU PHYSICALLY COULD, BUT THE MENTAL STUBBORNNESS AND DETERMINATION MAKES THE BEAUTY, NOT THE TASK ITSELF.
Tripmunk why do you have to be like that? I don't believe in god, but what I do know is that what this man has achieved is greater than anything you will do. He actually created something. Something that a thousand years from now could still be standing there. The thing is, you wouldn't give up what you're doing to dedicate your being to a solely working on a creation. This man did. It's easy to say "hah so easy" but never actually do it. He did. When this man talks, does he seem like he regrets doing this? No, he seems like his only regret is that he won't be able to finish it (ie; that he didn't start sooner). Just because some people don't live there lives exactly like you do, doesn't automatically make them part of the "cancer of human development", what does fit into that definition though is thinking that your opinion is always right. More than anything though, why just be so negative on a story that is a testament to a mans achievements in life. You seem like a sad person and that I'm sorry.
So lemme get this straight. The old man is crazy because he's doing something, that he likes, and is dedicated to his craft because he believes in what he wants to believe. Meanwhile, you, some ass on the internet, feels he has the right to judge his beliefs and says that he'd be better off what you think is right. Overprivilaged lil' shit at its finest.
It amazes me how so many people complain about our world when all it takes is to look to somewhere else. People get so caught up in the hate, and bad in the world. It can truly change a person if they simply look around and see the good in the world. This video is a perfect example of that good. Great video and well done, keep it up.
hunter spor simply put the birth givien obligation to guard one's own mind and use it for Noble purposes such as giving the world artistic gifts and people more reasons for living psychological warfare is dangerous beware always love yourself
WOW! With all the hate in the world there are still amazing people who just want to something good with no reward or publicity i admire these people with all my heart
You are right, but thinking about him spending his life building the cathadral all by himself, and thinking about that maybe he will never see it finished is what draws people more to that story.
I wouldnt say close. As he even said, he wont finish it in his lifetime, because he started late and theres still tons to do. The fact of how much he did though is astounding.
Im not a believer in Christ or anything, but it's touching how much faith and trust people put into one person and have great dedication because of that one person. Talking bout that man building the cathedral alone, but he's not really building it alone if he's got God to help, right?
n1na yeah, the idea of believing is incredible, it can lead to a lot of things, I wish people would never interfere with the people who has a lot of faith and trust, i might be agnostic, but this types of stories really kept me holding on and not being atheist.
I've been marathoning all of these videos and can I just say , I feel so content and happy right now! With all the horrible things going on today it's so fulfilling to see these wonderful human beings doing such amazing things! My heart is so happy ☺️☺️
When that man who's building the Cathedral in Madrid, Spain dies. If no one steps up to continue his work. I'm selling everything I have, moving to Madrid, Spain and finishing his work. Promise. And when I die I hope someone reads this comment and follows in my footsteps. And then when they die, someone sees their comment and follows in theirs. And so on and so forth. Any takers to get this started after me?
it would be awesome if a lot of people could come together and finish it before the man dies, so he can see his life long work finished before he pases
This channel is so underrated. I love this channel so much! I enjoy learning about everyone's story and it inspires me to go out and make an impact on the world. Thank you Great Big Story!
It was really hard to be impressed or to take anyone after that 90 year old man seriously. he build a freaking cathedral by himself. it's the most incredible thing ever
the ND geese in flight sculpture, I saw it. I had no idea this dude did it. My family was on a road trip and it was just sitting on top of a hill next to the road. I'm glad to now know the dude who made it. Also that dude building the cathedral is like a fucking saint. If everyone had the same determination as him, the world would be a better place
the old man making the cathedral reminded me of my late grandfather. he made me all teared up. I really want to meet him if he is still alive, I didn't have courage to meet my grandpa in his last moments, I am ashamed of myself.
It’s amazing how dedicated these people are to their work and they love what they are doing. I feel like that should be the goal in life, to find something to do that brings you joy.
These stories and the people behind it made me happy. I admire their dedication and hard work. Living in a fast- paced world made us forget some little simple and beautiful things in life.
Like 90 percent of the comments here is about the cathedral man. I heavily appreciate his work, but the French couple who built a medieval castle and the Italian who created an unique playground earn my appreciation as well.
I love how these people know that their dreams, ambitions, and plans will take time (lots of it), effort (definitely a lot of it), and the willingness to learn from other's experiences and their own mistakes. It's beautiful.
I remeber visiting the train village when I was younger with my father....a truly amazing place. Honestly completely forgot about the place until I saw this video. What a wonderful channel.
This is my favorite great big story. The human need to create cannot be stopped. I wish I could visit these places. Thank you to each of these creators for their gifts to the world.
Hey Ive been to the castle twice! They build everything by hand, no machines, no electricity. But I think they take as much time as they can, a big part of the entertainment is watching them build it.
i nearly cried when i watch the cathredal man story. 5 decadea built this with not much help. imagine how much people mocked him for being stupid in 5 decadea. and how much faith he has to God is really incredible. not so many people will waste all they had to God and this is really need to be spread around the world
I simply adored every single person in this video. Such inspiring people and a great example to all of us! Their passion and motivation is really incredible, it just shows us that people can dream big ^^ Thank you Great Big Story for letting us meet awesome people around the globe :D
#greatbigstory Every stories this channel has been bringing are amazing and to be honest most of them I had not known they're exit! Gosh! If you guys put these stories into books I will definitely buy them as many copies as I can get and give them to people I love ..all of these stories are far more beautiful and better than so many books these day!! Will keep watching and sharing your channel.
The man who is solo building the cathedral is so inspirational, in that you can do anything if you set your mind to it because this man has been working on this lifetime goal for 65(ish) years and he knows that he will die before he can finish it but he still continues to work on it ten hours a day, knowing that there’s a possibility that when he dies no one will carry on his work.
53 years to build that beautiful Cathedral by himself is not bad at all. That man has more dedication than any human on this earth. Absolutely amazing.
That is so inspirational about that man and the cathedral! How did I not know this man and his project? He needs some recognition! I really hope someone steps up to the task after he dies.
The castle is such a marvel. Some of the volunteers will spend a few months there, others will spend a decade . But what they build will stand for a thousand years.
It makes me so happy to see these creations and the passion behind them, especially the cathedral in Madrid. It makes me incredibly sad all these creators and inventors are growing old, and who is there to follow their foot steps?

Salute to the man who is building the cathedral...I wish I'm rich enough to come to Spain and help you.. Your faith in God will help you finish building the cathedral...
The man building the cathedral, I feel kinda bad for him...all by himself, or doing it by himself. Why does he not hire someone, teach some, contribute, so he can see the finished product before he dies, and is proud.
the man building the cathedral by himself is actually the coolest person ever
100% agreed. He looks fit for a person in his 90s
should be a saint
I may not be religious, but cathedrals are beautiful. That building has to be completed, by hand. That guy is cool af.
How inspiring. Indeed Christ fill find faith when he returns.
And You likely aren't Spanish so you don't know how hilarious it is to listen to him speak. Oh and he has no permit so his been dodging the Spanish authorities for 52 years now hahahahah
The man building the cathedral warms my heart so much I hope he finishes it 💘🙏🏿😭
He won't. I don't think he ever planned to in his lifetime. But it's hard to start something like that and not have someone else come by and continue it.

The handmade cathedral. I can't get over it. That man is a genius.
Personal preference and faith (for him). That is the true beauty of life.. we are all different. And is not fair to call it crappy either ;) cheers
Why do you call his faith and God a "fairy" and sh*t on everything he does? Legit, anything we do too is pretty useless, but he's happy. HAPPY. And he's dedicated...its beautiful. This channel needs waaaaaay more attention this channel is the best ever
Totally
yeah they provide high quality content like every day 3 videos
agree
Gaeb Moore I'm on a marathon of watching any video of them that is in the watch next thingy.
I agree, it's the way they label the videos. it doesn't make you WANT to watch them. I found it by accident.
It amazes me how so many people complain about our world when all it takes is to look to somewhere else. People get so caught up in the hate, and bad in the world. when that guy said his wife was the only one who supported him i almost cried
'The 13th century in France was a fabulous time.'
Well, not if you are a peasant.
There's always one group that's complaining.
crazy808ish But its true!
Guess you've never been poor huh.
Ever heard of the plague...or hygiene? Nah, neither did they. And they are dead.

the cathedral man is like a modern day book in the bible story
Gabe Roman omg true
Gabe Roman so true
The man who built the cathedral is wonderful. He shows so much commitment and humility. I hope he has a blessed life.
90 years and not a single person went to help the guy build that cathedral?
GamerDerp my guess is he refused help
dingus the lord of dank well let him do what he wants
GamerDerp he does have one person who helps him , ive met him twice
+lucia aguda cortes
what is he like? does he like to talk about his work?
GamerDerp He probably wanted to build it alone
Why is everyone in the comments talking about the cathedral? I thought the park was really amazing, and he did everything by himself too
I know right?
You are right, but thinking about him spending his life building the cathadral all by himself, and thinking about that maybe he will never see it finished is what draws people more to that story.
The fact that a man on his own only took 53 years to come close to finishing a Cathedral shocks me.
I wouldnt say close. As he even said, he wont finish it in his lifetime, because he started late and theres still tons to do. The fact of how much he did though is astounding.

I hate those damn ninjas...
Yes, that's mine too! You could just feel the magic while watching that video. (I'm assuming you mean the one with the Firefly Forest and Little Owl).

I hope this Cathedral building man lives forever. God bless his big heart ❤️
wish these videos were longer they're great
Notice how none of the DIY buildings are in the US, because if you build it, they will zone, and then tax you into oblivion.
EmileeArsenic Um the train and the sculptures are in the US. Butvyoure right it would be difficult to do the cathedral here if you started today though.
EmileeArsenic You're dumb, the largest sculpture and the train are in the US. Boy.. even their American accents is another factor..
2 out of 5 of them were in the USA
you got rekt
He said buildings, as in not sculptures or model rail, divis
This channel is soooo underrated.
God bless him. Helping his community in the best way. Art.
Omg I use to pass by that place in Flemington NJ All the time! I always wondered what it was! Cool

Aww the guy building the cathedral and the train guy are so cute i love them look how much they love what they do :)))
The man building the cathedral will be reverred as a saint someday! Bet on that!
now im inspired to build a cathedral in my backyard
the cathedral is such a mind blowing masterpiece..
Not true. The biggest miniature train track is in Hamburg, Germany. I've been there and it's the greatest thing that I have ever seen. They hold the current world record, being over 20% bigger than any other miniature train track. Still love the video though, it is absolutely crazy what people are able to make with only their hands. Great work, this is one of my fav channels for sure!
Salute to the man who is building the cathedral...I wish I'm rich enough to come to Spain and help you.. Your faith in God will help you finish building the cathedral...
