I just bought this tent from Attwoolls last week and finally inflated it yesterday to check it was all fine. I couldn't be happier - excellent quality tent and I love the technical cotton. Attwoolls were fantastic. These videos made choosing the tent so much easier and they really do cover so many details. When I visited the showroom in September, the staff were exceptionally helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. They are now my 'go to' shop for all things camping.

What is the best among the tents? Outwell, Vango, Kampa or Dometic? Too bad you don't ship to Brazil.

There's a lot to like here, but how they did mesh barrier to the main living area with the ground sheet using velcro to hold it in place is a non-starter. The bugs are coming in because there will be gaps with this system. It's too bad these inflatable or even pole tunnel tents aren't readily available on the U.S. market. I think they would do a huge business here with a few changes. Namely, changing out these PVC windows with mesh and zip curtains. It's too warm here when most people go camping in the summer for PVC windows.

These tents are very much designed for the European weather but these tents are becoming more common in the US, I know Dometic are looking to increase their reach.

So basically it's a more boxy Hayling tent with the features they took away from Hayling tent and made that one the more affordable range. The model needs a bit getting used to. Shame the Hayling series fabric is reduced to a 75 denier chips bag with the same sound. I'm camping in Kroatië now and I know how good and sturdy the 150 denier fabric is. (Polyester)

Hi Mike, really like this model. One thing, does the living area completely seal from the front semi open area?

So there is a zip running along the top and side of the middle door between the living area and front awning area. Then the base of the awning Velcro’s to the door all the way along the bottom, so in my opinion it gives a good seal.

Hello, your review is a few years old. Do you still think that the tent stands out from the crowd? I'm looking for a well thought-out 4 person tent with a spacious lounge area (+- 3x3m). Since we have a good discount right now, it costs under 2k. Are there any other alternatives in this price range that I should perhaps look at? Thank you!

I would say that this tent is now even better value for money and still has all of the key features that a lot of other tents don’t have. The only thing I would say is make sure you inflate the tubes to 9psi to make sure it’s that much stronger in the winds, with the manual pump it can sometimes not be the clearest what psi you have in the tent at that moment in time. You need to give the pump a slow downwards stroke to get a reading on the pump.

How long does it stay inflated without needing more air?

We have display models in the shop which haven’t been pumped up in two months, so they don’t need regular inflation but it’s a good thing to keep an eye on.

The mesh panel for the living space is ridiculous. Any self respecting mosquitoe will be on you like a flash straight under that silly big gap they left on the floor. Why oh why did they not make it zip all the way round ?! I was going to buy one but not without it being fully sealed. bad mistake that design wise.

As far as I understood you can seal the bottom gap by attaching the floor to the wall using velcro and he just didn't do it? The only concern expressed in previous comments is other bugs getting inside through gaps in velcro seal. It's very tempting to go for this one as opposed to Hayling 4 Air TC but then am worried about issue with finding enough space to put it up while wild camping (yes, we like to do it in the EU legally away from civilisation) and a min 7.5m as opposed 6.1m. The other thing is lack of modularity i.e. in Karsten you have the base and then are able to attach modules so if there's an emergency quick night or not enough space I could still just set up the sleeping based module only etc. These tents however always need the full length... Karsten life span is on average 20 years with 5 years of warranty and repairs or spare parts for many many years to come. Though, what I don't like about them is lack of windows hence quite dark inside - it's ok in a very hot climate but not so fun in rain/clouds and kids wanting to play inside therefore Kampa wins here. It's a tough choice but will need to decide whether to do a long-term expensive investment or cheaper short-term taking into account that in 5-10 yeas Kampa will say they no longer bother with older models and will be forcing me to buy a new one.
