You're incredible. I've always neglected core because a lot of the mainstream work outs for it never seem to give me progress or actual strength. This is truly engaging my core! Thank you!
I was obsessed with getting a 6 pack as a beginner and ended up training my core like a maniac. To this day I still have very well developed abs without having to target them nearly as much
I realized that I have done the suitcase carry for more twenty years since my childhood, by simply carrying all the stuff we bought when me and my mon went to shopping
Some Desi gym trainers forcefully push begineers to do corr exercises i used to thought they're pushing abs exercise for better fat loss but know i know how much important the core is , it is literally everything. I've been struggling in gym even in push-up pullups, just one week i started getting results from core exercises. My performance overall became better
I never thought about transverse abdominis thickness in helping with pushing the rectus abdominis forward so that six pack shows better. Good stuff. I also added suitcase carries into my latest pull up video. A lot of the stuff in this video has carryover into other exercises. The core is so essential. Time to build it up!
Best way I learned to engage my core which I couldn't quite get right with the "brace yourself from a punch" method: Above your waist, push like you're pooping. Below your waist, contract like you're stopping yourself from pooping.
I'm trying to remember the subscriber count when I subscribed to Jeremy. It seems like it was maybe a couple hundred thousand. I just noticed it's 2.68 million. Wow! Your formula really works...discussion/science, show us, then put it all together in a nice package. This recent count demonstrates your approach resonates with your growing audience. My 16 y/o son lifts and often asks me questions. My typical response is... Jeremy already did a video on, fill in the blank, go watch it because he explains it better than me. Watch out Jeff C... this kid is coming for you!
I really appreciate your approach, man. There's a million videos on core exercises, but some of those do more harm than good. I knew yours would be based on research.
Hey man, whenever i do any press movement for my chest i always feel it in my shoulders. This is a common issue that isn't addressed that well and like you when you started, my chest is lacking behind my other muscle groups. As someone who understands I hope you will address this issue in a future video and how to solve it. This would be sooo beneficial to me and everyone else who has this problem, thank you ✌
you gotta bench with your mid back tight and your lower back arched. i had that problem. lower the weight until you feel it in your pecs and then go from there
Try to pre-fatigue the chest a little bit with your warmup. Grab a band or cables and do flyes for one or 2 sets, 20-30 reps. Should be enough to feel a pump but not too hard. Then go bench press and use the tips the other people said. Try pauses too, but you might need to drop the weight a bit
Just bring your shoulder blades together and *down* as well. Now dont put so much weight that while bench pressing your shoulder blades start to move away from each other because that will activate your delts. Flare your elbows out like 45-60 degrees. Now for added chest activation squeeze the bar tight so your hand doesn't move and try to bring your thumbs towards each other by adducting your chest while bench pressing (your hands dont move but it activates your chest). You can also watch athlean x red flags for weak chest and how to fix them video for more help.
When I was in the juvenile I always trained in my room to kill anxiety and boredom. Doing this I discovered abdominal bracing. I would feel the pressure and decided it was a ab workout but i diddnt how great it was then. I love being able to count on Jeremy for the facts.
Watching this makes me wonder, do the people who focus entirely on calisthenics have a better all around approach to core training and strengthening than bodybuilder’s?
Pretty sure it's very much likely they do. Like doing push ups, handstands, pull ups, muscle ups, and maybe few other bodyweight workouts requires a lot amount of core tightening and stability. Look at gymnastics for another example? When athletes do dips or muscle ups but with rings instead of a bar. That definitely forces them to tigthen their entire core/abs to stay still as much as possible when doing a repetition
its benn two years we need more core videos and maybe some sience facts for building more thicker core and visible abs love your videos the uper lower push pull legs split works like magic for me
The suitcase carry...Moms of little children do this all the time!!! I have a 3 and 1 year old and carry them on the left side so my right dominant hand is free...I just noticed my right abs are more visible and my left leg is more muscular🤣🤣🤣 it is effective exercise!
Great videos man. One of my fav workout channels. Can you do some videos on obese workout plans or meal plans etc. You’re videos are so thought out I would love to hear what you say. Thanks in advance
We do palloff press in our boxing club and I’m quite fat (working on it) but I have guys with 6 packs coming thinking they can out do be but I always beat them with ab exercises. I love it
I've been really lazy when it comes to core exercises. I used to do a variety of exercises but I find myself only doing dragon flags. I probably should incorporate some of the stuff in the video so I can see progress quicker.
Hey man, often the best way to strengthen the hip muscles is to build the commonly ignored muscles around the hips such as the glute medialis by doing hip abductions with a machine or band. Also in terms of mobility, working on movements such as the 90/90 and hip butterfly which be a massive help. Hope that helps!
Hey man, the best way to avoid elbow pain will be to always properly warm up the joint prior to exercises which put a lot of stress on it, and also improving the mobility of your shoulder, wrists, and triceps. If these things don't become tight then you're unlikely to develop pain. Hope that helps!
Didn't you use to put your academic citations in the descriptions? I find them to be what sets you apart from all the other exercise channels and solidify your reputation. Please keep up the proper citations. I really love going through the evidence you use to inform your routines. It also allows me to feel confident when sharing your videos with others. Keep up the good honest work!! :D

Can you make a video with your uncle who does strength and conditioning with the Toronto Raptors!
Thanks for helping us to to know what exactly a core is
Back in the old days we had to pay for this knowledge.Thank you Jeremy
Just to say, in future, dont let your videos just become re-hashing the same stuff again and again.
