Today, I am taking a 17-hours overnight sleeper train from Bangkok to Hat Yai in southern Thailand. I booked a private 1st class cabin for this ride. Join me on the journey all the way from Bangkok in central Thailand to the very south in Hat Yai.

Great video..I find I get a better sleep in 2nd class {lower bunk] where you sleep fore and aft direction as opposed to first class where you sleep athwartships..just a thought..best wishes

Ken, big time follower of you BUT I did find this video a little deceiving as this was not a recent train journey? This was from over a year ago, which you had on your main channel from Thailand to Kuala Lumpur- I understand this is your clips channel but maybe just a heads up when the footage is old
I wish that they had a similar train on the Bkk to CM route . Prices are vastly different though .I done CM TO BKK day time for around B300 ,2 nd class . I would have gone 1 st class but those tickets were sold out .

We did Butterworth to Bangkok on what was called The International Express in 2nd class seat back in 1995. I dont recall 1st class or if there were even sleepers. Some passengers paid for a Standee ticket. A ticket that didnt include a seat.

A 3rd class ticket from Trang to Krungthep 15h ride is only 255,- to 285,- Baht. Amazing.
