Even though we might all intellectually know it, it's stunning to see how being recognized is so important to humans. It was emotional to see how those women of different ages reacted so strongly to being complimented and recognized. This is what fuels the human spirit and you can see how toxic social media is just by the terrible things strangers say to each other there. That toxic sludge goes right into the psyche and molders there for a long time.

I am a giver much like this man. But this year has completely broke me I am unable to give any gifts this year and it crushes me. But it brings back the thought that the holidays are the time to be around family. I'm 7 months pregnant and I value my family more than anything. I hope to be able to give like this man one day.

I am a disabled Vietnam Vet with no family so every December I go out to eat at three or four restaurants and leave a $100 tip as a Christmas present.
It's the least I can do.

You have a heart of gold, my parents always tipped good each time we went out to eat, despite not having much to ourselves, sadly my parents passed away from covid, and now I'm all alone, with no other family, and no where to live.. it's sad sometimes, but things like this always bring tears to my eyes.. in fact good people in society, humanity itself not all but some.. you're all my hope to continue living. I'm greatful for your service, truly. No words can describe how greatful I am for wonderful people existing. Thank you!

Honestly wasn’t expecting that lmao but I think it’s because the kids want the cat inside.. Most pets on the reservation live outside during the harsh conditions and sadly many die throughout the year due to heat, cold or hit and runs.. During random times throughout the year, you can see many dead pets.. It’s sad to see especially when a dog was hit and neighbors don’t take care of their pets so you see them eating the dead dog..
Hats off to generous kind man but at the same time it brings shame on America, wealthiest country on the planet, people living on charity and government food assistance and disregard homelessness.

Why doesn't the government help these people - how they live is terrible. Instead of making a big show of going around the country and removing Columbus statues put some money to helping these people who live in extreme poverty today.

As an ALS patient who received an anonymous gift of a $100 bill in my shopping cart a couple of years ago (back when I was weakening but not yet in a wheelchair), I can tell you it is an amazing feeling. I did not see the gentleman place the bill in my cart, as I was choosing some bread. I was sure someone had accidentally dropped it, so I went to the info desk and reported it. The teller looked at the bill, smiled, looked up at me and said, “It’s yours. One of our regular customers does this, and you were today’s recipient.” He showed me a subtle mark identifying the giver. BTW, this was in Salem, OR, at the Fred Meyer on S Commercial Blvd. So if you’re the generous gentleman, THANK YOU! ☺️🙏❤️💥

This year Christmas for retail workers has been specially brutal. The instant gratification is NOT! Just like every day we get that rude worker who manages to insult or report a worker for being rude to them….aka…we don’t have what she wants!
I hope we fall to our knees! We are greedy rude spoiled people with an insatiable desire to have instant gratification!

1. Narcissism: I'm an atheist, but I am familiar with the idea that giving and helping someone should be an intimate gesture of kindness. We should not do good deeds for any sort of reaction or expected outcome, and certainly not for a camera. 2. Exploitation: it is very tacky to parade poor people in front of cameras to show them weeping for $100 bills. Sure, they had to sign a permission waiver to show their faces, but they're being exploited because of a feature story on money giveaways. 3. Propaganda: It is scripted and edited by filmmakers in a way that manipulates a lot of well intentioned viewers into feelings and tunnel vision...and that's the definition of propaganda. 4 White Saviour Complex: The point of view of this story is hackneyed and old fashioned and filled with the notion that only a kindly white person with lots of money can help poor starving wretches. 1Narcissism 2 exploitation 3 Propaganda 4. White Saviour Complex
100% this. And things like this distract us from the reason that the Apache people were placed into poverty and kept in poverty (genocide endorsed by our government)
