Global Cycling Network "You're going to suffer anyway, so you may as well suffer well...", it's something people who don't cycle don't understand about cycling!

That Vos likes to sing while racing. OMG, it would be fantastic if we had audio+video of her singing the "Love Hime" song from the Yowamushi Pedal cycling anime during a race.

Global Cycling Network I'm new to road, I appreciate the introduction to one of the greats! Sadly her name doesn't come up like Sagan, Cipollini, Froome, etc.

"You are going to suffer anyway so you might as well suffer well". An instant classic. It should be immortalized along with Lemond's "It never gets easier. You just go faster". Thanks for this!

One thing I have learned from Emma from her previous videos and Marianne in this one is the importance of a positive outllook in both cycling and life. Success and performance are a mental game combined with intense effort, without a positive attitude both suffer. Thanks for sharing your positive oulooks and insights, they are appreciated by me.

Terrific conversation and insight. Somehow, the fact that they haven't bothered to remove the "Hot Water" sign behind them and you can hear clinking in the background makes it seem even more natural; like you're just having coffee with, you know, Emma Pooley and Marianne Vos, no big deal. More like this, please, GCN!

What a fantastic ask GCN Anything! Emma was great... rattling through the questions and Marianne was great as well. I never knew that she would get a song stuck in her head and then it would just creep out whilst she was racing! Now that definately is one cool thing to do on your bike! A hugely illuminating interview 💡and its very cool to see just the passion for the sport come through when Marianne talks and I think that it helps having Emma interview her since the two of them rode against each other. I don't think that you would find so many cyclist who are so good at so many different disaplins and that is something which was very interesting to hear. I take a break between road season and cyclocorss... (how long, oh well maybe 3-4 weeks. Thats a break!!!😥) Loved it and thank you GCN!

Excellent interview between two incredibly classy women. Like Marianne, I also get songs stuck in my head. One time it was "Mairzy Doats". It syncopated exactly with my cadence, and stuck around for about an hour until I slowed down and figured out I was actually saying "mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy"... Most annoying day ever on a bike!

My absolute cycling hero, I had the 'pleasure' of very briefly meeting Marianne and Laura Kenny at a meet and greet during a track competition at Lea Valley, unfortunately I got totally tongue tied and my supposed to be light hearted glib comment about finally meeting her match (in Laura on laura's natural environment) fell out of my mouth as some weird insult to my absolute sporting icon. Sorry Marianne, you're awesome.

Since You asked (thanks) - I'll start with the women since they get so much less coverage & support
      1) Katie Hall - UHC - 1st Amgen Tour of CA 2018 / 2nd 2017
      2) Coryn Rivera - Giant Sunweb - Just won USA National Road Championship
      3) Amanda Spratt - Mitchelton - Scott -
      Now for the Men
      1) Egan Bernal - Sky - 1st Amgen Tour of CA............ amazing young rider
      2) Caleb Ewan - Mitchelton-Scott -
      3) Tom Dumoulin - Giant Sunweb
      4) Miguel Angel Lopez Moreno - Astana
      Just to name a few.
Recognize that the logistics might be tough..........in person is great Marianne seemed very comfortable & open during the interview. But a good on-line ie; FaceTime might work too if Video angles can be worked out.

I would like to have known the very basic few exercises Vos uses every day to reset her body prior to taking on the day’s regimen.
Some people do a set of roll ups, squats, foot flexions, breathing just to setup the body to norms before launching into the day.
I would also like to know if she uses any methods such as Pilates to correct the body balance, or recover from injury.

Global Cycling Network oh, it doesn't really matter. The thing is just to mention, point out and promote women cycling in general. What eventually will lead to better media coverage (I hope!). You are doing great work already with your weekly race recaps where women's races are included. But it'd be nice to see Kasia Niewiadoma interviewed if you ask though :)

People seems to forget that this woman hates losing more than she loves winning. She hates it so much that her body basically broke down trying not to lose races. And she made huge sacrifices in the past 2-3 years for her team by playing supporting role for her teammates. This speaks volumes to her character as a person. But I think she should stop doing that and be a racer once again because that’s what she is good at and where she loves to be.

Is there any other cyclist who has an arguable claim to being the greatest of all time that's as humble as Marianne Vos seems?

A brain worm song...I so suffer with this also! Just when you're most concentrating...there it is again, and only ever one line. Feel better now I'm in good company. :D
