Yume being on 1st feels like a true ending than me finishing on that position.

This was a Cinderella story for the ages. Yume Tanaka was put through hell this season. She lost her leg in the most horrific crashes seen in recent memory, and she STILL pushed through to win it all.
They’ll be telling stories about this legendary win for years to come.

When you put it like that, it does feel like a fairy tale was told within a racing game. Especially with how the Mckanes being seen behaving like...well...villians.

This is actually exactly what i did in my mode. Got tangled up late with the Mccanes, held them off, played rear gunner for Yume.

Why did the developers add the 'Yume Finishes 1st and You Finish 2nd' objective? Well, according to the cutscenes, Yume Tanaka said that her goal is to become the first woman ever to win the Grid World Series championship. So they decided to add that objective besides 'Finish in 1st place.'

That indeed. Along with Ado wanting both Seneca driver's on the podium. Aiming for this alternative objective is a sure way of making both happen.
Though when I did this objective first on a new save, I still had to restart and win it myself afterwards to clear the story. Don't know if any patches lately fixed that.

I have seen that too, but on Easy difficulty it is challenging to let Yume win. While the others are catching up.

I remember that race I held first place a bit on the first lap till Yume got in 3rd and I did some heavy blocking on Ryan SOB nearly put me in the wall Yume got by me and I blocked most of the race for Yume to win. But one particular part of the race either it was near the dam or something I saw a nasty crash and I saw a car going airborne and almost went off the track I saw it in FP and I got through it instantly almost ate it when Ryan rear ended me and got by me so for payback I put his ass into the wall

Я 30 минут перезапускал гонку и давал Юме быть первой, но игра все равно не засчитывала победу ей, судя по комментарием они до сих пор не исправили этот баг

Yes, I got it on my 2nd try. It felt wrong to win the title. I thought it made more sense for Yume to become champion.

It’s a shame this story was so lazy. It had good bones

Curious to learn your idea for how it could be improved? What would you add? What would you change?

@san-panico It didn’t matter where you finished in the races. The points and the perception of the characters were pre determined. You could finish 1st 6 races in a row, and your character would still be “scrappy up and comer and clear number 2 driver on the team”
Just would’ve liked to see the race results correlate with the story more.

Kinda a bs objective, out of your control.
