Unfortunately, it came with a heavy financial loss as it turned out that I was one of the few that it didn't work on. I was sad, resigned, depressed and went on a 3 days binge. The thing is, I lost weight. To my complete bewilderment. I used an online calculator to find my BMR and quite dubiously ate the recommended calories (2000) and burned off 500 due to work, and what do you know? - IT WORKED! I am losing 0.5 - 1 lbs per day, AND it's been so much easier eating healthy due to food freedom calories wise ☺️ So whatever bullshit Anna's been doing is certainly not eating nor exercising correctly.

Anna's weight loss has stalled and that's because the weight loss injections that allowed for her to lose weight stopped working, so instead of putting in the actual work, she traveled hundreds of miles to see a specialist who would tell her exactly what she wanted to hear. I doubt her diagnosis. She is in my opinion just a pear shape but extremely morbidly obese with it. My sister and my mother have that shape but they are not overweight. Anna has mentioned probably having it before but it was just someone randomly commenting on the internet that she looked as if she had it so no formal diagnosis as far as I know, until everyone starts pointing out failed weight loss ‘23-24. @@nicpic1985 I have lipedema which causes my thighs to be a lot bigger than my torso and arms. It sucks because it hurts with exercise (which Anna hasn't mentioned before?) And I still managed to lose weight in those areas as well.
A note on lipedema, more an expansion based on my own research as a medical student who has the condition. Lipedema is a condition of abnornal fat deposition where the adipose cells are basically "entombed" in fibrous connective tissue, scar tissue basically. Fat that is "entombed" like that cannot be accessed by the body and broken down for energy. That being said, lipedema fat occurs in a layer just under the skin, and is constrained to the lower limbs, occasionally the lower belly/ hip area. At her size, she is not all lipedema. If she really were, and in a chronic calorie deficit to boot, she'd be showing signs of starvation, gaunt cheeks, pallor, hair falling out, whilst all retained fat is in a lipedema pattern. That is clearly not ths case. I believe the surgeon used a small truth (that lipedema fat itself cannot be lost) to try and sell her on getting hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars of surgery, which would actually be incredibly damaging for her. Surgery to remove lipedema fat should be the very last resort, once the majority of other body fat is lost, and only if the remaining lipedema fat is causing pain or dysfunction, or, if the hormonal signalling from the entombed adipose cells or remaining excess weight is worsening existing health conditions. And we currently don't have a standardised way to image lipedema fat to determine which fat is "normal" and which is pathological. Even a 2023 systematic review by Parra et al only recognised the effects, increased fat mass and lymphatic impact. On a personal note, I've lost 53kg myself, and I can see the effect of the lipedema, and how my torso is shrinking much quicker than my legs. But I know I've got a lot more normal fat to shift before I even think about surgery for lipedema, if i even can get it. Anna needs to buckle down and work rather than waiting for something/someone to swoop in and fix it for her. Edited to correct spelling goofs. Typing long comments on a phone can be tricky.
Im an RN and i love your in depth post. I worry Anna is a poor surgical candidate because her diet is so bad. I agree the Dr used a small truth. We do it all the time, too much truth and patients stop listening. But God her selective hearing is annoying.
Anna actually said her doctor said the MAJORITY of her remaining fat was lipedema. A majority is over 50% and she needs to. lose at least 250 more pounds, so she could still lose many more pounds of normal fat. Anna chooses to misinterpret this as she cannot lose any more fat.
Thank you so much for sharing! Congratulations on your weight loss and health journey! 🎉 🥳 I was also diagnosed with lipoedema, and my surgeon told me the same, that it's best to lose the majority of body fat before having the lipoedema treated (surgically removed). My highest was about 100kg at 164cm, now I'm 62kg, trying to lose at least another 7kg so I can get it treated; though I was never told how much to lose, just that the more lost, the better. He told me there'd be less surgeries/incisions, as well as making surgery and recovery easier overall. My legs are still very obviously misshapen and painful, and the fatigue is worsening despite all my efforts, but at least I've noticeably lost weight (mainly in my torso too) and getting healthier in the process. Wishing you the best of luck! 🍀💚
@@LevePalestinaKrossaSionismen Thank you for your post. Other people who have this condition need to be affirmed that there is more they can and should do and that it would make any more invasive treatments easier and better. I hope you will get there and if you elect not to do the surgeries that you will explore noninvasive treatments.
If you can actually call what she does running, but you are right in that she’s foolish to stress those ankles. She can’t structurally alter those unless she fractured them.
The idea that she can do anything at her weight is ludicrous. Of course you can’t. There’s no shame in recognizing reality. WALK and someday you might run.
@tressamarie6509 I am so much smaller than Anna, but my husband is a long distance hiker and it's completely fine that I do not want to put in the work to get to that level. Not being delusional about it really helps.
Is ego. Anna thinks she is too strong and healthy to stoop to such a "low level" of exercise, when walking or swimming could actually transform her life.
@daynasafranek7807 at my highest weight I was 238lb, so less than half of what Anna weighs. I was that big for less than 2 years, not my whole life. I lost the weight over 20 years ago and have a decent level of fitness. I recently decided to do a bit of HIIT and after 2 weeks, my right ankle was screaming from the damage I did to it ages ago. I am back to the elliptical.
The talk at the end of the video really touched me. Thank you for being so passionate and offering straightforward advice. I'm going to replay the part from about the 24:00 minute mark on thru, every morning or anytime I'm struggling to make the right choice. You're a gem, Ilona. 🙏🏼🧡
Like this lady did, switching to an anti inflamatory diet would probably really help Anna. I've heard that other women have had a lot of success with keto or a low carb diet when they have lipodema. Anna really needs to get advise from professionals who treat the condition with more than surgery.
Yeah. Totally has to b.s. They're saying if they didn't eat, their body would say "no thanks, i can't use this fat" and would rather let you die than burn the lipadema fat 😂
I am dying between my sets. Every time I think I hit my full potential, I make gains, slowly but surely in small bursts. I'm 2 years and 4 months into this. I have killer genetics, but I'm not willing to take gear. I'm not in it to compete. Having bigger muscles helped lift my post-weight loss excess skin. I do have spots of fat that are strange, stubborn and fibrous. They swell when I take on inflammation. These spots are still a fraction of the size they used to be when I was 80+ lbs heavier.
🧡 yup, ppl and their excuses get on my last nerve too. Also now everyone thinks if you've been successful with losing weight you MUST be taking SOMETHING, it's super annoying and IMHO insulting when you've done the work without any med intervention. Then they look at you like you're lying to them or ask what "the secret" is. There's no secret! I lost 102.5 lbs since July 2/23 because I busted my butt, sweat a lot, and kept with it (tracking calories, eating right, and exercising). But no one wants to hear that, everyone just wants a simple fix and assumes you are lying to them when you've done the hard work and fought every craving and got back on track every time you had extra (e.g., during the xmas season). I've spent so much time answering ppls questions including long messages about calories and macros and deficits just to be ignored, I'm done trying to help ppl lol I don't have patience for it and tbh I'm not out here trying to fight ppl for simply existing and being a better version of myself.
@@melaniemarrone9521 right?! Like don't ask if you're going to be offended at the answer. Too many ppl ask questions for ulterior motives vs genuine curiosity
@@melaniemarrone9521yeah I think that's certainly true. people will also assume a lot about your eating habits based on the small glimpses they get when they see you. and that goes both ways, if you seem a little too restrictive they'll assume you're always that way, and if you're a little indulgent they'll again assume you're always that way and complain about how unfair it is that some people are "naturally skinny".

RUclipsr mamma goop has lipodema. She has lost a lot of weight and is currently managing her lipodema. She is very open about how she manages it. She has reviewed Anna numerous times, calling her out on her crap.
She also has MS. And still she managed to lose weight and keep it off. I guess is just Anna who is unique and can't lose weight and she has 500 pounds of lipedema.
Thanks Ilona. Anna's just retreating even more deeply into her dangerous (to her) delusions. And it appears she's willing to try anything besides eat less/control her intake.
I like both red colors. Sucks that the judges told u the bright red was too much, when your coach was telling u to keep it that way. Hey but you won! Happy for u
I hope you caught that slow motion short Anna made of herself "running" on the beach and talking about allllll her loose skin. I usually never comment on her content, but that one really bothered me because WHAT LOOSE SKIN? My comment was either held in spam filter or she deleted it, but I wanted to let her and anyone else reading know that loose skin is not full of fat and jiggly. It's thin, flat and just hangs. If you are able to "pinch an inch" as they say, you are still holding fat. That's actually good news, because it means that's not a handful of loose skin. You have no idea what the situation will be with loose skin until you're in a normal to low normal BMI range. Anna is nowhere near that, and neither are a lot of people who complain of loose skin. I like you as a ginger--suits your personality and looks great on you xx
I haven’t seen any loose skin either. It’s true as you lose weight your fat becomes less dense, and some areas may hang where as before they would be more full and your skin was more taunt, but that doesn’t mean she has loose skin at this point.
@@Natalie_11188 exactly, I don't doubt that she lost some body fat, and she feels more jiggly or "loose", but she has no idea what loose skin is at this point, lol.
I love your hair! I was definitely in the minority when I commented that I was sad you’d be changing the red, but this shade really suits you even better. It’s gorgeous and it brightens your face, and I bet it’s a little easier to maintain. I’m the opposite scenario. I recently dropped a great deal of weight due to illness, and my body burned all of my fat reserves and then went on to burn most of my muscle as well. I went from a healthy, muscular (upper body) 131 lbs to an unhealthy 92 lbs. I’m getting better now, and so I’m finally noticing what that weight loss did to me. I not only lost my lovely muscles that kept me independent, but my skin became very wrinkly all over, my throat and neck look like I’m in my 60s or 70s, and my veins are extremely prominent in my arms and legs. My stomach is definitely flat, but you can see my heart beat in my abdomen from that big artery, which is totally gross. Unfortunately, I don’t think regaining the weight and muscle will restore youthful skin and get rid of the premature wrinkles, but honestly at this point, I’m just glad I’m alive, getting stronger,; and that I can enjoy eating food again. Do these super morbidly obese ladies really believe the lies they tell us? Do they take no accountability for their ongoing health issues and refuse to acknowledge their diet and sedentary lifestyle are the root causes? Do they truly value food and eating over a longer, healthier life?
This light ginger/copper hair colour looks so pretty on you. I noticed it on your shorts aswell ..🧡🧡🧡🧡 It compliments your bright blue eyes even more than red.
Another peeve of mine is when I talk to someone about fitness and then tell me they're writing their own program. There are so many good, free, programs for your goals out there and you're just simply not knowlegable enough to write even a competent training plan.
I absolutely respect and trust everything you say about fitness and diet. You are an inspiration and i admire you has a strong woman mentally and physically.

Love love love the hair!!! Cant stand Anna... Starting to hate her, as someone who is fighting lipedema with conservative therapy and diet and working out ...if she really has lipedema, she should not use the sauna because the heat can trigger the pain..
I’ll admit that I had do some reading about the difference between lipedema and cellulitis. I didn’t realize that cellulitis was a bacterial infection of the shin and soft tissue. I think people also confuse that condition and cellulite for what she has. I showed my husband what Anna looks like , this morning, and he was stunned. I told him some of the things that you have mentioned in your videos. He and I agree that she needs to quit drinking, first and foremost, because she just wrecks any hard work she does by doing that.
Cellulitis seems to come up a lot with people who are chronic drug users who inject. Cellulite anyone can get, usually after puberty. I personally think Anna is just a pear shape who is very morbidly obese and is now at an age where her skin and body are showing results of years of abuse from her lifestyle and are the quality of a very old person. I think she just has cellulite, fat, sagging skin with the varicose veins on top. She doctor shops so I am doubtful of this lipoedema diagnosis.
@@nicpic1985you know, I don’t disagree. I follow a couple of creators with lipedema and her leg shape does not fit the typical “look”. She doesn’t have the tree trunk, uniformly thick appearance down through the calves. She actually has a very tapered shape, which is entirely counter to lipedema.
@@Alicia-Rene exactly. Also does anyone believe that Anna would not have shown at least some of her treatments as content? This is a woman who tries to glamorise a CPAP and her huge bag of meds.

It's strange to see a woman with good genetics like her, her face looks good, she is tall, she tends to store fat in her hips... if she just was at healthy weight, she would have been beautiful! She has the skeleton structure of a model, very long torso, arms and legs... and yet she confined herself to being obese. And with her genetics and her character, she could have done so much more in terms of exercising, traveling... and fashion! She could have been an icon of fashion, lifestyle and more... but no... fat acceptance and body positivity took away from her all of these opportunity. Now she recked her health and body so much that she's not going to be her best self ever. So sad.
It's true about her positive genetics attributes: tall, nice face and hair. I mean she's the same height as Zendaya. Let that sink in. But I bet she kept relying and resting only on those attributes until they were eclipsed by her weight. She have all the resources to seek professional help. At this point she should seek in patient treatment.

I was also diagnosed with lipoedema, and my surgeon told me the same, that it's best to lose the majority of body fat before having the lipoedema treated (surgically removed). 🍀💚
@@LevePalestinaKrossaSionismen hey that’s amazing. I hope you get to you weight loss goal and then get surgery ❤️
It’s dangerous for her to run, there’s nothing wrong with walking. I think she is running out of clickbait.
I love when Ilona gets angry, it’s like motivation for my mind and body! Spitting facts! The hair is beautiful, Ilona. Suits your skin tone ❤
its the steroids effecting her moods her voice has dropped heaps you guys are so easily influenced she is over doing the steroids
Keto would help her so much. Annoying that she acts like shes doing so much. Its all performative.
🧡I also love Michelle McDaniel, she is amazing! And such a talented makeup-artist too!
❤ I agree!
Yeah. Totally has to b.s.
They're saying if they didn't eat, their body would say "no thanks, i can't use this fat" and would rather let you die than burn the lipadema fat 😂
“The weightloss ain’t weightlossing” 😂😂😂
I am dying between my sets. Every time I think I hit my full potential, I make gains, slowly but surely in small bursts. I'm 2 years and 4 months into this. I have killer genetics, but I'm not willing to take gear. I'm not in it to compete. Having bigger muscles helped lift my post-weight loss excess skin. I do have spots of fat that are strange, stubborn and fibrous. They swell when I take on inflammation. These spots are still a fraction of the size they used to be when I was 80+ lbs heavier.
You rock 💪
I agree. People always ask but they dont really want to know. I think they really want to believe its a "secret" that all thin people have.
I think your hair would look intense black with your pretty blue eyes. The red/orange looks great! Love the subtle highlights!
I agree! She would look like a muscled Snow White with Jet Black Hair!
I loved the red. It was kind of shocking in the beginning but after I got used to it I really liked it. Made you look very mythical like some kind of a siren or a superhero.
I don’t understand why they care about your hair colour? But the orange is also cute!
Agree - kinda strange that at a bodybuilding competition judges care so much about hair colours...
I'd love to know why the judge that focused on her hair is allowed to continue in that position. It speaks to a non-existent level of professionalism. There is no muscle in hair.
Shit. Here I am trying to fix my weak hair by making it do push ups
Now I see no more " health journey". That didn't work, so now it's vacation journey.
🧡🧡 just when I thought you couldn't look any better!!! Wow ❤. Im 63. Have lost 90 lbs and kept it off for 3 years. Purple hair now 💜 and living life.!!! My pic here was last year 62 years old. Yes i have some lose skin, few wrinkles (was blessed with good skin lol), cellulite but like you said anything is achieveable at any weight at any age...just gotta put in the effort. You're an inspiration ✨️
You're an inspiration yourself! Looking great at 63!
@@Jan74 wow that you very much!!! You made my day💕
That Scorpio intensity + passionate honesty beaming thru those blue eyes is something to see
We love our feisty clapback Queen, spitting straight facts like a boss with receipts!! 💯🔥😮💨👑🥇✨💛
Does anyone else think Anna flew to LA for this doctor because she knew it was someone who would validate her victim mentality?
Your hair 😍 I am from AUS it's 3:00 in the morning and I'm snuggled in bed with my cat watching. You are amazing girl 🙌🏼🙌🏼 the best you tuber ever and biggest inspiration
RUclipsr mamma goop has lipodema. She has lost a lot of weight and is currently managing her lipodema. She is very open about how she manages it. She has reviewed Anna numerous times, calling her out on her crap.
Yes I like to watch Momma Goob and I appreciate her take on things.
She also has MS. And still she managed to lose weight and keep it off. I guess is just Anna who is unique and can't lose weight and she has 500 pounds of lipedema.
Fascinating character indeed
Thanks Ilona. Anna's just retreating even more deeply into her dangerous (to her) delusions. And it appears she's willing to try anything besides eat less/control her intake.
I like both red colors. Sucks that the judges told u the bright red was too much, when your coach was telling u to keep it that way. Hey but you won! Happy for u
Yeah but the judges judge me and she might even be there, so I would be stupid to not listen to their feedback. Happy with this color too though!
She cut the comments off
She calls hundreds of pounds of lard “ loose skin”
I was in the hospital for 2.5 months and I’m getting caught up on your content. I love your hair, good to see you!
For real the hair is PERFECT on you !! 😍
Love the new hair! Makes your eyes look teal, very cool!
I absolutely respect and trust everything you say about fitness and diet.
You are an inspiration and i admire you has a strong woman mentally and physically.
Your hair looks amazing! Can’t wait to see you compete!
LOVE the hair! I think it was the right call, the red was a little overpowering and this will bring more focus to your incredible physique 😍
CONDUCIVE is the word you were looking for.
Prep is prepping. Still more lucid in a second language and during prep than some of the gorls normally 🤭
I’m 41 srarted training again. Really boosts my mood and I wanna have a firm body, I used to train when I was younger and now I just wanna maintain my health. I always hope the gurls will realize they’re aging, and it’s important to maintain your skeleton and muscles as well as a good diet.
What I really appreciate about this channel is the transparency. It’s what makes your content authentic and relatable! ♥️
Brava! You are so right. Anna is not making a true effort. She's only making excuses. same as Jordan Underwood
Your hair color is definitely spot on Ilona…brings out your pretty pretty blue eyes a lot more!
I needed your no BS reaction to this. Thanks 😂
I needed this kind of content! I was really good with goig to the gym and made good progress about 1.5 years ago but due to issues wirh my PT i havent been since and gone back before where I started 😭 turning 30 in 12 weeks and really want to start feeling good again. Listening whilst on a walk, its a start!
i like this better than the bright red as well, makes your eyes stand out without distracting from them
Ooooh my gosh Ilona that ginger is fantastic for your complexion and eyes
I like this hair color! The color works so well with your skin and eyes and eyebrows...actually better than the last color, I think. 🧡
Love love love the hair!!! Cant stand Anna... Starting to hate her, as someone who is fighting lipedema with conservative therapy and diet and working out ...if she really has lipedema, she should not use the sauna because the heat can trigger the pain..
I'm here for this attitude!!, 🔥🔥🔥
Ok wow. The pep talk I didn't know I needed. Ilona YOU ARE A QUEEN!! Thank you I'm going to be better with my diet and training ❤️
Your eyes with the hair SOOO GOOD 🤌🤌
Yay! I'm happy to see you still a version of ginger!! Though I think dark brown would be stunning too.
this was ilona's i have a dream speech. if Anna wants to live a long healthy life she should listen carefully and implement the advice.
Calling it like it is👏👏 100% truth!!!!
You know I liked the red but when I saw this I was like ‘woah 😍’ It looks amazing, it’s such an unusual shade but stunning on you
I’ll admit that I had do some reading about the difference between lipedema and cellulitis.
What a world we live in where you can film your hedonistic lifestyle for money
I am such a loud/vocal exerciser. At home, I’m always grunting (my child
Can’t stand it lol) and now at the gym, I’m very vocal, & not trying to hide it. Cause if i do, then I’m not working as hard. Even at the circus studio or pole dancing studio, I’m
Loud.
This hair colour makes your eyes POP✨
that hair color compliments your eyes so well! It's my favorite on you so far!
I’m 146 right now at 5 foot 4 but I’m trying to get down to 125 and I’m slowly but surely getting there!
Thank you, Ilona, for this video. It comes at a time I need to desperately start up my workout and diet routine again. I have been slacking for months and feel awful. Work has me exhausted, but I know i can adjust things and get it done with discipline. This real talk motivates me.
You suit that colour so well! Really compliments your eyes 😍
Typical Anna. She would much rather buy something rather than work for it.
Thank you I gained a little weight in my weight loss journey, now I am back on track,🎉
I love that you are so real and honest in this one 🌺
It's 3:46am in Melbourne Australia where I am, and I'm currently eating breakfast before I get ready for work. I really appreciate the tough love style pep talk towards the end of the video. I really needed to hear that, so thanks 😊
You are so real I love it! Anna is delusional. Period
Lol I love when you get worked up and tell it like it is! The problem is when people are in denial and surround themselves with people who lie to them and don't help them
Your new hair is softer than the last, suits you very well and is still fun and fire ❤️🔥
The new hair color looks great on you!
Love this color hair on you! I liked the red but I think this is more kind for your complexion. Also, makes me think of the song "She Don't Use Jelly" by The Flaming Lips! ✌️
She uses taaaaaaaangerines !
I absolutely LOVE the ginger on you. It looks amazing with your eyes! I love it even more than the true red. ♥️
Thank you for some inspiration and frank talk. I did well with intermittent fasting and a home elliptical but there has been much change and mayhem since a move into a stalled renovation and layoffs in 2018 and 2019. New career and passion projects resumed need renewed efforts 🧡
