That technique of moving, rotating, and warping a clone was brand-new to me! And it's great! Many thanks.
You're welcome! Glad you liked the technique 😊
Wow! I didn't know you could take a cloned area & move it! Then the addition of the mesh warp tool was just the perfect finishing touch! Thank you so much, for another great tutorial.

@@AffinityRevolution I did very much!
Some of my objects looked blurry after removed. Is there a tool in Affinity to make the background look better?
Also, a light pole in one of my pics has a curb directly behind (street level.) Is there a way to remove the pole but retain the curb?
Your soothing voice and the occasional gentle scratching sound of the pen on the tablet are like ASMR to me :3
I once recorded a similar tutorial in Spanish under the name MentaFoto. It's interesting to see how out techniques differ - I never thought to use the clone brush in quite the way you did here!
Affinity has so many tools. There is often more than one way to do the same thing. It's fun learning so many techniques. 😊
Great tips, thank you.
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 😊
awesome video!
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 😊
It helps me a lot ❤️
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 😊

That's great! Keep up the good work. 😊
Thanks. This was a really good one 👍🏽
Thank you! Glad you liked it. 😊
Hi Ally. It is always refreshing to believe one knows everything and then to find out that this isn't quite the case. The "move cum warp mesh" part was the bit that bowled me over. Now I will need at least a week to get over my shattered ego.
Definitely, yet another useful, well taught, well produced aff rev tutorial.
Thank you Simon! 😊
You are so right - this technique is so much better!!! d:¬{D
Agreed! That was so cool!
Thanks 😊
You're welcome! Glad you liked it. 😊

Love your lessons ❤️❤️ can please do a video on how to add “grain/noise” to a photo on affinity?
You can use the "Add Noise" filter. 😊
nice job, lg
Thank you! 😊
!!!Thank You
You're welcome! Glad you liked it. 😊
awesome
Thank you! 😊
I just found these and I love the clarity of explanation Will there be updates for 2.0?
Thanks Paul! And yes, all of my future videos will be in 2.0. I've already made a 2.0 video on background removal (ruclips.net/video/brZos76SNDI/видео.html) and a 2.0 beginner course (ruclips.net/video/I7i937rzkDE/видео.html). 🙂
Hi Ally. Can I suggest that a mask could be used in the third example rather than the eraser tool. This has the advantage of not only easier to correct mistakes but gives a better scope for blending.
Good point - a mask would have been better to use. 🙂
Super tecnic
Thank you Kapil! 😊
Thanks Ally.. Great tutorial!!! Is there a reason why you didn't add another pixel layer when you went from the road paint removal to the necklace removal. ..... and did choosing the "apply to all layers" option for the letters removal really have any different affect than of if you didn't select that option, given there was nothing beneath it... or have i missed something... thank you.. Phillip
You're right, I could have made another pixel layer. That would have been better. 👍
Great video! I learned a couple new things…thank you.
On another note…how is Ezra? Been thinking about him!!
Thank you Doug! 😊
Ezra is doing alright. His voice is still weak, but he is going to start seeing a new doctor soon. I hope this new doctor is better than our last one! 😛
Thanks for your videoa. What tablet do you use ?
This is the tablet I use. I like it a lot! 😊

👍
Thank you Lady Rose! 😊
Thanks! This is just the video I was looking for. I stumbled onto an issue where it doesn't seem to work, can't figure out what im doing wrong versus your video as I think I am following it to the tee.
I got the inpaint brush tool and was able to easily remove the letters on the shirt. But then the clone tool on the leg side doesn't do anything? I took a sample and am painting but nothing is happening? I got the pixel layer selected and choose current layer & below. Opacity 100%, Flow 50% Hardness 0%. Any idea what im doing wrong?
Sorry, I'm not sure. I recommend you try opening a different photo, and see if the clone brush works there. Maybe some sort of bug happened in the document you were working on. 🤷♀️
Thanks for the video. I do have a question. Why did you create a "new pixel layer" for each of your three methods?
The 3rd method needs to be on its own layer so that you can warp the layer without effecting the other areas.
The 1st and 2nd method could be combined onto a single layer if you want, but I like using multiple layers in case I ever want to turn off one of my changes without turning off all of my changes. 😊
