- Welcome to Deep Roots Gaming. In this video I upgrade the gaming server's raid card. I am upgrading from a dell perc 6i to a h700 card. This will allow my hard drives to operate at 6Gbps instead of being capped at 3Gbps with the perc 6i card. Gaming server is a Dell PowerEdge r410 and raid card was purchased from ebay for $99. How to connect a SATA SSD to the Dell R410? Please provide detailed instructions and information about the required cable
I need some help with mine. you didnt show the other end of the sas cable connected in the h700. So i need some informations... in the h700 there are 2 sas ports... i want to work with all 4 hd slots,.... should both be connected? only 1? i assume you sas cable is those 3 end cables? if so, it can connect only on one sas port of h700... is it right?

I had to replace my perc as it started a fire on the inside of the pc but luckily put itself out again.

Thanks. I have a perc6i in my r710 and I have been running two 2tb drives and went to upgrade to two 6tb drives and turns out the perc6i is not compatible with drives over 2tb. I’m hoping the h700 can help me overcome this issue.

Hey dude. I have a r410 and would like upgd 6i to 700h card.
Accordoing your instructions I need use the Black PCI-e slot. It's a problem for me, I'm using this slot for a geforce GPU (it's impossible use the onboard matrox to play anything)
Have other better Raid controller (that support disks high 2Tb and Raid5) where I can still use white PCI-e slot ?
Yeah that's a problem, you need that slot.
Where did you find a cable to change the odd cable to use with the ssd

Moved H700 card into Integrated port can’t boot machine problem is if I move the card further up my iDRAC battery cable doesn’t reach the OEM slot anyone have a suggestion this is for an R710
Sorry I haven't opened a r710. Is moving the battery closer to the slot a option?

R720 should have 2.5in hard drives, so typically sas or sata drives will work.
I had one poweredge 1950 with perc 6/i. Is it work for me?
